Capítulo 29: xxix

"I have a bad feeling about something," I said, resting on Genesis's chest as we lay down to rest after having two hours of hot rough sex, "What do you mean?" He asked, gently caressing my naked back as the thin covering, covered our lower body, "It's been very quiet lately, ever since Marcus's attack, we haven't heard or seen anyone of his pack wolves," I said, raising my chin to look up at him as he laid with his hand under his head, "You're right, the last time Marcus went this quiet was when he was planning my father's murder," Genesis said, glaring at the moon before sighing as he then turned to me.

"I want you to not worry too much," he said, stroking my cheek as my eyes went emotionally soft, "It's hard not to when I have this feeling in my chest," I said, staring into his eyes before grabbing his hand that cupped the side of my face, "Talk to me," he whispered, watching as I smiled through the pain that left me choking on my air, "My grandfather thinks that he's going to die," I whispered as he frowned at my assumption.

"He told you that?" He asked as I shook my head, "He didn't have to, the look on his face when I recited my father's words to him proves it all," I said, blinking my eyes to get rid of my stubborn tears, "I can't lose anyone else, Genesis, I wouldn't be able to handle that grief," I rambled as he pulled me close.

I have been holding onto my worries about life ahead. It's been troubling me to see my family every day being happy and peaceful to then remember my father's words.

"but you must prepare and be aware of those that surround you."

The unknown was scary and I didn't know what to expect. Anyone in my family could potentially die from the trials and tribulations ahead of us and that wasn't something I was prepared for. Who's ever prepared for death?

"Hey? Listen to me," Genesis pulled my chin as I looked into his eyes, "No one's going to die, and if someone does, we'll be here as each other's support, you're not alone in this Rosalie, and I meant what I said, I love you and if I have to die to make sure that you're safe then I'm ready," he said as I quickly shook my head, "And who said I was ready to live a life without the person I love, you don't get to make that choice, to sacrifice your life, especially for someone like me," I said as he frowned before sitting up.

"Someone like you?" He asked as if my statement was the most absurd thing he's ever heard, "Sit on my lap," he said as I raised an eyebrow, "Now, Rosalie," he demanded in a stern tone as I quickly sat up before getting on his lap. It felt weird as his naked junk was right under and between my ass cheeks, but the serious look on Genesis's face made me focus on one thing only, the words coming out of his mouth.

"I need you to understand and accept something very important, okay?" He said as I nodded, "You're my mate, you're the person I'm destined to be with, destined to love and care for, I guarantee that I'm going to marry you and that you're going to be the mother of my children, you're forever Rosalie, I see no one but you, so you're not just somebody, you're the person I'd willingly die for, you're my reason for living," he said as I was left speechless.

I didn't expect those words to leave his mouth and honestly, it scared me to mean so much to him, I couldn't voice my opinion, and I didn't know how to respond, so I did something that I knew would express all that I was feeling.

I kissed him and he immediately kissed me back.

"I love you and you have no idea how loved you make me feel, but promise me that if it comes down to either of us dying, please save yourself, promise me," I said, staring into his eyes as he growled in disagreement.

"I don't care, promise me, promise me that you'll save yourself," I demanded as he stared into my eyes before sighing, dropping his head in defeat.

"I promise."

The sound of birds chirping woke me up as I groaned, stirring awake as I felt the soft comforting material beneath me. My eyes remained closed as I thought about last night and into the morning before I fell asleep. My hand dragged across the smooth yet firm surface of the be-

Wait a minute! Firm? Smooth?

I frowned in confusion before taking a deep breath in as the smell of lavender and paint filled my nostrils causing my eyes to snap open to realize that I was in my room.

"What th-

I don't remember falling asleep in my room and where's Genesis?

I was so confused and nervous as I got up from my bed and walked towards my bathroom.

Was it all a dream? Did I return to this terrifying phase?

All of these questions were floating around in my head as I stood in front of the mirror before something caught my attention. I frowned, leaning closer to the mirror to see a purple mark right under my collarbone. I was worried, thinking it must've been from sleepwalking, but as I continued to stare at the mark, my eyes suddenly lit up as I bit my lip to block a smile that was growing on my face.

"Damn you, Genesis," I mumbled, tracing the hickey that Genesis left, which only proved that everything that took place last night. I shook my head realizing that he must've taken me home and now I had to face Melody and my grandfather.

"Good luck!" Kamari said as I scoffed before getting ready for the morning.

I snuck downstairs in hopes of avoiding Melody and my grandfather and to my surprise, it was ghostly silent. I entered the kitchen with a frown on my face, "Where's everyone?" I mumbled looking around to see if Melody had left any food that she prepared before a throat clearing made me flinch in fear.

I quickly turned around to see Melody and my grandfather. I probably looked like a deer in headlights as they both looked at me with knowing looks. My face turned bright red as I saw Melody's eyes trail down my neck and stopped, staring at the hickey before a smirk appeared on her lips.

"It looked like you guys had fun," she said before glancing at my grandfather, who wore a blank expression, causing my nerves to skyrocket, "Did you use protection?" He asked as I opened my mouth to answer, but no words came out, "And I'm going to kill him," he said as my mouth gaped in disbelief, "You didn't even let me answer grandpa, stop over exaggerating," I said as he wheeled out of the kitchen.

"I-Is he serious?" I asked Melody in disbelief as she waved me off before smiling teasingly, "So Genesis dropped you off this morning, you looked pretty exhausted," she said as I blushed with my head low before raising my chin to face her, "Well, we- WOAH! GRANDPA!" I yelled, looking over Melody's shoulder to see my grandfather wheeling in with a crossbow in his hand, "Benjamin Gracia?! Where the hell are you going with that?" Melody asked as Benjamin scoffed, "To kill Genesis, obviously," he said as Rosalie's eyes widened, "Oh my god, you've completely lost it," she said before walking away as I rolled my eyes.

"Can you put that away before you accidentally kill someone," I said as he huffed before dropping the crossbow on the floor causing an arrow to release as it shot through the window.

"BENJAMIN GRACIA!!!!"

"Hey Rosalie," Cleo greeted with a tight-lipped smile as she passed Melody and Rosalie's booth, where they were busy attending to impatient customers, who were desperate to get their hands on one or more of Melody's delicious pastries.

"Hey Cleo," Rosalie greeted back, quickly glancing at the girl before focusing back on her work as she continued walking towards her grandfather's booth.

"What was that about?" Melody asked as Rosalie looked at her before frowning, "What was what about?" She asked as Melody handed a customer his paper bag before turning to Rosalie with her arms crossed, "You don't like Cleo?" She asked as Rosalie shrugged, "I don't have a reason to not like her, but at the same time, I don't know her that much to trust her," she said as Melody nodded, "A lot of people feel that way about her family, they say that they're two-faced and very manipulative, especially Atticus, but the children were never like that, it all started when their parents disappeared," Melody said as Rosalie handed her customer their paper bag before she turned to Melody with raised eyebrows.

"How old is Cleo?" Rosalie asked as Melody looked over her shoulder, "She's probably 17 years old, very sensitive and gullible," Melody replied as Rosalie shook her head, "Then she's the most dangerous," she said before a throat clearing grabbed their attention.

"Very nice, Melody," Atticus complimented as he eyed Melody's pastries before looking up at Melody with a slight smirk on his face, "What made you change from selling your nicely smelling oil?" He asked mockingly as Melody smiled before glancing at her granddaughter, who stared blankly at Atticus.

"Well, my granddaughter gave me the encouragement to expose my true talent," she replied as Atticus hummed pleasingly, "Applause to you, Rosalie, your grandmother was always obsessed with that failure of a dream," he said as Rosalie chuckle darkly, "You sound a little bitter, it seems that you and grandmother had some kind of history," she said mockingly as Atticus forcefully grinned at her before they were interrupted by Cleo.

"Grandfather, I've prepared the soup for Ma-

"Can't you see I'm having a conversation, Cleo, where's your respect, go back to the booth," Atticus harshly cut her off as she turned pale in the face before turning around and quickly leaving. Rosalie frowned at their interaction and it seemed that Atticus had noticed as his face went blank.

"Have a pleasant day, ladies," he said before leaving.

"Don't you ever embarrass me like that again, do you understand me?" Atticus asked as he held Cleo by her hair as she silently cried, "DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!" He yelled as she yelped in fear, "Yes sir, I u-understand," she stuttered as he let go of her hair before pointing at the bowl of soup, "Now go deliver that soup, the Alpha is waiting," he said with a calm tone as she nodded before taking the soup.

Upon arriving at Marcus's house, Cleo knocked on the door, which was answered by Cora, who looked sleep deprived and depressed, "What do you want?" She snapped as Cleo flinched, "Don't worry sister, I'll handle it from here," Mateo said, moving his sister to the side as she glared at him before leaving.

"Is the soup ready, love?" He asked as Cleo blushed before nodding, "Good, thank you, sweetheart," he said, leaning forward to kiss her lips before taking the soup, "Now be a good girl and tell your grandfather that he'll get his payment by this afternoon," he said as Cleo nodded.

"Yes, Alpha."
