As Cassy was tossing on the bed, her father was watching her.
"Can't sleep?" Her father said as he walked into her room. He heard her muffled growl that's why he came to check on her
"Yeah. Can't stop thinking about the ceremony. Or rather I can't stop thinking about him, father. My heart feels restless. What if he decides to abandon me for his mate…just like you? What if…" Cassy said with a shaky voice.
"He won't Cassy. He isn't a jerk like me" her father said as he sat close to her.
"I am sorry father. I shouldn't have spoken to you as that" Cassy apologized.
"It's fine. You don't need to be sorry. I know I was a jerk back then. I wonder how I thought I could eat my cake and have it. I wonder how I thought I could stay with a woman for years and hoped she wouldn't fall in love with me. I was a jerk…a total jerk for toying with her feelings" Her father said trying to keep his emotions in check.
"Father…"
