"You know in that Barbie story, the Pauper ends up with a Prince. Maybe that's why I ended up meeting you?"

He raised a brow in amusement, "Are you saying that we will actually end up being together?"

"Why not? No one can say what's there in the future." She grinned at him, "It's just, I feel like you're more of a king than a prince."

Jin Mingze stared at her while she kept on talking about that topic. Right at that moment, it was as if he was seeing his wife right there beside him but their personalities were different and it was enough to wake him up from that dream. He has to treat her differently. He has to control and distance himself from her. Well... at least that was what he thought.

It was actually hard for him, especially whenever she smiled.

The feelings that were growing inside him were not real since they were only feelings for his deceased wife. He was only having those feeling because he longed for his beloved.

He tried to convince himself of those thoughts.

"Since our relationship is not real, am I allowed to date someone else?" She asked, resting her chin in her palm as she looked at him.

Of course, she wasn't planning that as of now. Maybe in the future? Once she made Jin Mingze fall for her, maybe she would use a friend to make him jealous.

"..." The thought of her dating someone else irked him for some reason but... She was right. Their relationship wasn't real so he didn't have any right to stop her from dating.

He believed that it was better this way, to build a wall between them. "As long as your boyfriend wouldn't mind having me as your husband."

"..." Wait. That sounded so wrong. Was he really saying that? Why did it felt like she was actually asking permission from him to cheat?

"We're supposed to have this marriage in secret."

"Then you have to try your best to keep this hidden from your boyfriend." He said nonchalantly.

"... R... Right." She sighed. "I'll quit my job tomorrow and move my things here... Again. Will my room be still the same?"

"Hn. I'll send someone to pick you up in your place."

She pouted, "Can't you pick me up yourself?"

"No."

"Come oooon, please?" She whined, giving him a puppy eyes look.

"I'm busy."

She crossed her arms and huffed, "Meanie."

A small smile crept out of his lips since he ended up finding her adorable.

"Well... Let's talk about the penalty for both of us in case we didn't follow one of the conditions written on the contract." She said as she lied down and rested her head on his lap. She was obviously doing it intentionally.

By doing that, the walls around him ended up cracking again.

For some reason, once again, it reminded him of the time whenever Chen Rui would do the same, lied down, and rest her head on his lap. As side from that, he could see the similarities of Chen Rui and Ye Shuxin from his position.

He unconsciously touched her head while staring down at her which made Ye Shuxin surprised since she has didn't expect him to do that.

The only thing was... It kinda hurt knowing that he was thinking of another woman while he was gently looking at her.

She inhaled deeply before she spoke up, trying to ignore the feelings inside. "Punishment for those who disobey the terms we made for is each other will be... You will have to pay me 500,000 yuan while I will..." She paused to think, "I'll let you wear whatever clothing you choose for me."

He ended up chuckling, "How is that supposed to be fair?"

"Because I said so?" She smiled at him.

He stared at her smile for a while. The urge to kiss her was strong so he ended up giving in. He leaned down and placed his lips against her lips, placing a soft peck on her lips. "That's 500, 000 yuan for kissing you without your permission."
