Capítulo 7: An encounter with magic

Cian realized that everything was real when he saw his hands are mysteriously wet. He decided to give it a try. Then stood towards the rock which the old man moved some time ago.

He stretched his left arm and said

"Ooh, god of waters. Grand me your strength to hold the droplets into an ocean. Water bubble"

He was shocked that he could create a water bubble but it collapsed as he was distracted by the excitement.

'Ok let's do it once again' Cian thought to himself and stretched his left hand and concentrated

'I should concentrate'

'I should be calm'

'I did it twice, I can do it now '

He calmed himself a bit, he could hear only the inhaling and exhaling of the air. After two minutes or so he started

"Ooh, god of w...what????"

He couldn't believe what he was seeing. There was a water bubble in front of his left hand which collapsed after a few seconds and wetting his shoes.

'It's strange, I didn't even finish the spell, what's going on looks like I should have to talk with mother about this' he thought to himself. For the first time in his life, he can see hope in himself.

After that incident, Cian went home and looked for his mother. He went to her

"Greetings madam Lin, can I please have a moment with you?"

After becoming a servant of the family Cian always addresses his mother as madam Lin. That's how servants call their masters. She was a woman with a gracious look in her late thirties, she is roughly about five feet tall, Black hair, black pupils, red lips wearing white earrings made of pearls, her skin is white.

When she saw Cian addressing her 'madam Lin' she was really upset. She held back her tears and moved, on another point of view she ignored him.

She said herself 'can't he call me mother?'

As soon as Cian realized what was going on he faced her and said

"Mother, can I have some time with you?"

She was shocked because it's been three years since Cian called her 'mother'. She came near him and combed his hair with her hands and said in a low but a happy tone

"why not?"

She took him to her courtyard and listened to him. She was looking at her son speaking something because she didn't put any attention to it. It was a long time since Cian spoke to her so, she stared a mother's look at him.

She came to reality when she heard "mom, mom, what's wrong with you?"

She replied with a deep sigh followed by a gracious smile "It's been three years since you speak to me"

Cian was shocked and didn't say anything because he knew what she was thinking. So he just sat simply for a while, when his mother was staring at him with mother's gaze.

After a while, she asked Cian "What bought you here today my son?"

Once he heard the word 'son' he wanted to get out but he perfectly understood her situation. So he didn't speak about anything.

"Nothing, your son wanted to greet you, that's all," he said with a sweet smile.

When his mother heard it she hugged him and said in a sad but cold voice "don't you dare call me miss Lin anymore" and tightened the grip on him a little bit.

Cian understood that she is afraid of him to be filled with loneliness, said "I promise you, mother. I will never address you miss Lin anymore"

For a few days, Cian didn't ask her anything about his doubts. He used to spend a little time with his mother and other times practicing some magic from a small book which his sister gave him since she moved to the academy and the art which the earth bender thought him.

'Ooh god, why can't I do this' Cian managed to create a water bubble but couldn't manage to hold it. Whenever he tried he used to wet his legs and the area surrounding him. In other words, he failed.

'Am I that worst?' Thoughts lingered in his mind .
