Capítulo 16: Chapter 16: Knockout

Jasper is an old dog who’s been head trainer of the Ganymede pack since my dad was a kid. When I was little, there were crazy stories that he was immortal or a monster.

Over time, I learned Jasper wouldn’t hurt a fly, but he’d beat your ass if you cross him.

When Angela and I arrive at the training center, Jasper is directing a bunch of new recruits in their daily drills. Or, I assume they’re daily drills. Spirits know I’ve never set foot in this room. I had enough physical activity in gym class in high school.

Jasper’s voice echoes off the brick walls. He stands near a large mat in the center of the room while the recruits switch between running, doing push-ups, and running again.

Thankfully, I had the right mind to wear some dress khakis and a button-down shirt for work today, simply not having access to the closet and fancy clothes in my room at Maverick's.
