The young man and his parents thanked the Healer profusely, going as far as to bow down onto the concrete pavement.
No words could describe how grateful they were.
His parents had taken out a checkbook, hastily signing off a million yuan, and tried to give it to the girl.
No matter how hard they tried, she wouldn't take it.
"I have already received my fees."
They tried to leave the check on top of her stall, but an unknown force always pushed it back into her hands.
Left with no choice, they could only gratefully leave with their son, making way for the next patient.
The young man was now walking on his own, even skipping a few steps.
Even if this was a dream, he did not want to ever wake up from it.
As the sun was about to set, the Healer stood up from her wooden stool, looking towards the crowd in front.
"I will not be taking any more patients today. Please come earlier next time."
The crowd started to clamor with disapproval, some even tried to guilt trip her into staying.
However, none of those words seemed to fall to her ears, as she started to pack her things up.
They could only begrudgingly leave, not wanting to get on the Healer's bad side, afraid she will refuse to heal them if she got upset, or even worse stop her treatments altogether.
They were not willing to take any risks.
Some with unknown intentions tried to follow as she made her way into a dark desolated alley, but upon entering, her figure was nowhere to be seen, seeming to have disappeared in plain sight.
They clicked their tongues as they lost sight of her once again.
This group of men were sent by their respective masters, who had heard the rumors, to disguise as part of the crowd, and tasked to find out the background of this mysterious Healer.
In a dark bedroom in an old five story high building, with its only source of light coming from the slit between the curtains covering a large window, a figure suddenly appeared out of thin air on the marble tiled floor.
The Healer gently removed her mask, then made her way towards the curtains, pulling them open with a slight force.
As the light landed upon her figure, her face slowly came into view.
It was Jia Bi Yu.
Except for her height, it was undeniably Jia Bi Yu.
A soft knock came from the door, as a young lady's voice sounded from outside.
"Yu gege, are you back already?"
"Yes, give me a second and I'll be out."
<Ian, change my body back to normal.>
The once small dragon inside his mana pool has since grown quite a bit.
Sleek black scales as dark as the void cover his whole body from head to toe, able to blend him into his surroundings if he were to step into the world outside at deep into the night.
A childish glint can still be spotted in his golden slits that seemed to give off a deathly glare.
His snout opened widely into what resembled a smile, revealing his razor sharp canines that could easily slice through the skulls of his prey, as he happily replied to his mother.
<Yes, mother!>
Jia Bi Yu gritted his teeth in pain as his bones visibly shifted underneath his skin, changing him back to his original 170 cm height.
Ian had learned a few new skills of the evil attribute, as well as formed and upgraded the spatial dimension these past two years that had passed by peacefully.
His corrosion skill, on the other hand, had not changed much due to the lack of targets to practice it on.
Ian's two new evil attribute skills included the one that was used to change Jia Bi Yu's height, bone shift.
Bone shift, as its name suggested, was able to shift the bones in his body, changing them around to create a different physical appearance, yet still retaining the same functions as his original shape.
Ian was able to do facial reconstruction as well, but the pain was just too much trouble for the Healer persona, hence a need for the face mask.
Jia Bi Yu knew a magical spell that was able to change physical appearances without pain, but it would require a large amount of mana, something he now had to use sparingly due to the limited amount in his surroundings.
The gathering of mana was way too slow.
To refill a single drop would take over an hour without the aid of magic circles, not the mention if he were to spend his whole mana pool.
If he emptied it out, it would probably take years before it fully replenished.
He also did not possess an unlimited supply of mana potions, nor was he able to create more to upkeep a constant usage.
He quickly activated the spell on his traditional styled clothing, something which Chen Mei Ling suggested he wore, changing it back into his usual white tunic and black pants.
She said the outfit would help attract more customers, which he was still not able to quite understand why.
Surprise, surprise. Who thought the Healer was Chen Mei Ling?
