Chantal suddenly choked on the juice she was drinking. Yunho retrieved the glass and hugged Chantal as he rubbed her back. These actions were done so naturally, as if Yunho was used to them. Yunho's inner instincts made his muscles move of their own accord, and he was even surprised at what he had done for a woman he barely knew. "Why are you absent-minded, Dean Qin? Is something bothering you?"

"It might be that I'm too occupied with everything that's happening around me. I had never encountered such kinds of situations before, and it makes me think a lot."

"You need to loosen up, Dean Qin." He thought, 'The mate pull exerts such a strong pulling force right now that the burgeoning connection between Dean Qin and me could significantly influence my behavior. Moreover, her allure is all-encompassing, spanning 360 degrees without any blind spots. Even my heart pulsates for her, as if I were under the spell of an intoxicating substance. And I guess she's feeling what I'm feeling too.'

"I am fine," Chantal reassured, patting Yunho's back as a subtle signal to release her from his embrace. Yunho's warmth and proximity stirred various emotions within her. As he returned to his seat, she sensed an abrupt emptiness in her heart. "Can you tell me more about our mating conditions?"

Yunho cleared his throat and looked into Chantal's eyes.

"After mating is completed, mates cannot be separated from each other for three months. The female will continuously be in heat for every full moon within this period, and it will be dangerous for her to meet other males. When females are in heat, they will crave intimacy, which can only be satisfied through performing what couples likely do."

"Does that mean we need to be together for three months? How about your mission? I cannot leave the academy's military training to accompany you, but it will be impossible to do your and my mission together if we cannot be separated."

"Actually, a certain distance is required for newly mated couples."

"How far?"

"Three meters apart."

"What?" Chantal's eyes widened in realization. "Does that mean we also need to sleep together? Wait, that's unimportant, but how about your mission to an A-ranked planet?"

"Are you worried?" Yunho asked with a smirk on his lips.

"Of course I am! I... I mean..."

"Don't worry, my men can handle the task, and I have also reported our situation to the Admiral. Since we are both under the Admiral, he asked us to register our marriage as soon as possible. It will be easier since we can register through the light brain. I will never leave my wife alone, and I assure you of this."

Chantal lowered her head and resumed eating, feeling bashful. "What else?"

Chantal felt confused, so she asked, "What do you mean?"

"I have seen lots of cases where mates meet and grow apart. My cousin, for example, met his mate in the cafeteria of the academy. He said the world seemed to stop when he saw her, but the woman was no longer single. He distanced himself and protected her from afar, but when he knew the woman's boyfriend was cheating, he felt extreme anger and let his impulsiveness win."

"Did the woman break up with her boyfriend?"

"They did, and my cousin took the chance to show himself. He courted his mate, and they ended up mating while drunk. But because of pack duties, he became so busy that he forgot to explain the bond of destiny to his mate. The woman became furious when she heard it and thought the feelings they shared were only because of the mate pull."

"Did they make it?"

"The woman hid herself for who knows where. My cousin could not bear the breakup, so he went to the battlefield. When the woman realized her feelings, it was already too late. My cousin died, unfortunately."

Chantal couldn't shake off the heavy atmosphere in the room as she processed the shocking ending. The silence lingered, punctuated only by the distant hum of machine life outside. Her mind raced with thoughts about Yunho, who appeared to be putting on a brave face despite the chill in his eyes.

Observing him closely, Chantal sensed a hidden turmoil beneath the surface. It was as if Yunho's attempt to smile was a mere facade, masking the storm of emotions raging within him. She couldn't help but empathize with the weight he carried, wondering if his cousin's tragic experience had resurfaced in his mind, casting a dark shadow over the present moment.

As she pondered Yunho's inner turmoil, Chantal couldn't shake the feeling that he harbored resentment towards the woman indirectly responsible for his cousin's death. The unspoken tension in the air hinted at a complex web of emotions, leaving Chantal with curiosity and concern for the intricate dynamics at play.

Breaking the heavy silence that enveloped them, Yunho suddenly turned towards Chantal, his gaze piercing through the lingering tension in the room. With a momentary pause, he asked, "Have you ever been in a relationship?"

Chantal, taken aback by the unexpected question, hesitated for a brief moment before responding. "No," she admitted, her voice carrying a touch of vulnerability. "I've been single my whole life."

Yunho's eyes softened as he absorbed her answer. It was as if a fleeting connection formed between them, bridging the gap of unspoken emotions. At that moment, Chantal could see a flicker of understanding in Yunho's eyes.

Yunho, still grappling with his own thoughts, nodded subtly, appreciating Chantal's sincerity. "But you're heavenly beautiful. It's impossible to resist, so how can no one want you?"

"Do you think someone will be as brave as you? My hands and my sword are always covered in blood. Remember?"
