The survival test had begun. Students roamed all over the parameters. Some were hunting, fighting, and busy saving themselves. At the same time, others are basically hiding and looking for a safe place to live. The test is scored individually, but others have formed teams and acted together.

Chantal ate the food that Yunho had prepared while staring at the screen. Yunho finished eating early, so he decided to complete some of his paperwork from the military. Chantal, on the other hand, was curious as to why planet Celine reassembled some of Earth's environmental composition. Nobody knows Earth more than her, who came from there.

There were some plants around them that she saw as familiar, like ube and potatoes, that grew weirdly above the soil instead. But as she explored the planet by manipulating the cambots, she identified more plants coming from Earth, which made her happy.

She thought, 'Wow! Look at those big fruits and vegetables! They look so healthy, and their sizes vastly differ from those planted on Earth. But Earth no longer exists in today's time, and most plants in the interstellar are toxic! Luckily, I can gather some of those or purchase this world, which is way richer in natural resources and bigger in land mass compared to Earth.'

Chantal's eyes were twinkling with great joy, and Yunho noticed them. "Do plants make you so happy? Should we purchase this world after the military training of the students?"

"Huh? How did you know my thoughts?"

"Your face brightens the whole room just by looking at the screen. Your eyes twinkle like there's nothing more important for you in the whole galaxy than having it. It makes me jealous. Is this planet more valuable than me?"

Chantal moved closer to Yunho and pinched his face gently. "For me, you're not an asset, and you're my man! In terms of net worth, you are indeed more worthy than this planet alone because you are able to buy it."

"The elder's sayings about having a wife must be true!" Yunho played with Chantal's hair, brushing his fingers on them.

"What's true?"

"Men who marry will have a place to spend their money."

"In your perception, is that bad or good? Your wife can also buy things herself with her assets."

"My wife can save her money for herself. My husband is very capable of earning money. You don't have to worry about running out of it."

"How so?"

"Because my assets could be considered inexhaustible. If you look closer, my skills, rank, and handsome face are just bonuses for what I possess. You're one lucky woman!"

Chantal laughed. "I never thought you could joke this much! How did you become so self-centered and boastful?"

"Wife, there's a difference between being boastful and being proud of one's achievements. In my case, I want to earn a good face and points in your heart. I am a proud man!"

"Aren't we moving too fast in this relationship? You already want my heart, even if we just met on this trip. Ah... I knew nothing about you, deeper than those that people could investigate."

"Why waste money? I can tell you everything about me only if you'd ask."

"Are werewolves always this dedicated to their other half?"

"No."

Yunho hugged Chantal and rubbed her back. "I am the only one who's like this. Other Alphas are so extremely possessive that they treat people as possessions. For example, not allowing their mate to interact with other men or not letting them leave the house for different reasons. And some of these relationships become abusive for women in the end."

"I thought I could only read those character anomalies in books. I did not expect them to happen in real life."

"Those authors might have witnessed the same experiences or experienced the abuse themselves. Books are not just stories based on imagination. Some depict a reflection of other people's lives."

"I find you very empathetic," Chantal murmured while staring straight into his eyes.

"Not at all. I just think of them as the basis for developing a bad or good relationship. The essence of living is living with peace and happiness. Every relationship needs respect, and each person should respect the rights of the other. I find it terrible to think that other wolves can go do such extremely negative behaviors because they think they own their mate."

Chantal and Yunho spent the night talking about random things. But hidden within Chantal's thoughts were dangerous cravings for information. She did not expect that Yunho would be open to her conducting investigations about him. The bigger surprise to her was knowing that Yunho's younger sister was the galaxy's heroine.

Chantal would never forget the inhuman ways the heroine purged the royal family. She could also remember how the heroine plotted Yunho's death to let her lover rise from the military ranks. Yunho could have died from a cup of poison, which is less painful, but she chose to humiliate him and let him die without the ability to fight.

She crippled her own brother and secretly sent her parents to a world full of prisoners on death row. She had no ounce of gratitude or mercy, just because they once tried to arrange her with a man she did not like. In the name of the church, she killed nobles and people with great influence.

At one point, Chantal even questioned if the author of the book was a sociopath who wanted to share her dark thoughts. But unlike the heroine, the author of the book came from a supportive middle-class family. She grew up full of love and happiness, so Chantal was quite shocked that her books turned out to be painful and bitter, and some were horrible, filled with regrets and torture.

The next morning, Chantal and Yunho left their cabin to venture around the area. They walked into the forest, where the plants almost filled the place spacelessly. Yunho held a lightsaber known as the Sword of Destruction. He has been using it on the battlefield for a long time, which is rare among soldiers.

"Are we going to collect fruits in this wilderness?" Yunho asked as he slashed through the thick, thorny roots blocking the way.

Chantal looked ahead and smiled. "Let's collect some and cook new things."

"Shouldn't we test if they are poisonous first? Let's send them to the Institute of Plant Research and Food Technology."

"No need. I prepared testing materials ahead and brought them with me, by the way."
