"It is finally done," an ancient voice sounded from within a palace that occupied the entire land surface of a continent.
Although the planet contained four other continents, the lack of any other person was definitely a surprise as the world was thriving.
The ancient being stood from his throne, which was as grand as the palace, with no mortal words able to describe its splendour.
Although the being's face and body couldn't be seen because of the distortion of space around him, it was very obvious from the way he carried himself that he was male.
'Took me a few more centuries than before to perfect this,' he thought as he looked at the final product in his hand.
He sighed as he raised his other hand and snapped his fingers.
~SNAP~
The space warped before finally collapsing and creating a hole big enough for his hand to enter.
He proceeded to put what was in his hand into it before finally closing the space crack.
The ancient being returned to his throne and sat down. He looked straight ahead as if he was staring through the fabric of space itself.
"I hope this is the last time I have to do this. I am tired of seeing them fail again and again," he said before finally closing his eyes.
*******
It was a beautiful day on some part of the central continent. The rays of the sun reached a small part of the known world called the Noxus planet.
The Noxus world was a world with several races divided into several kingdoms, dynasties, empires, or whatever designation they chose to call themselves.
In a dark forest, five wagons followed each other in a straight line while being protected by several armed guards, some mounted and some not.
The first two wagons were occupied by butlers, maids, and servants.
The last two were filled with supplies and goods.
The wagon in the middle was for the person the guards called Young Master Rex.
Inside the wagon, a young male of about fifteen years old could be seen stroking his wolf pet as he looked out the window, worried.
His black hair gently hung over a fair, worried face. Dark black eyes were set well within their sockets. All in all, he was a very handsome young man and a heartthrob for women.
This young man's name was Rex Luthor, and he was the third son of the Eastern Duke of the Fyn Kingdom and given his current location, he definitely had a reason to be worried.
'I really wish I hadn't done this,' he thought, but when his thoughts shifted to the reason he embarked on this journey, his lips couldn't help but curve into a smile.
Just a few minutes after he convinced himself to stop worrying, he heard several whistling sounds pierce the tranquillity of the air.
The next thing he heard was the head of the guards shouting, "Bandit attack! Protect the young master!"
Rex immediately pulled the safety window cover and activated the defence runes to deflect any possible arrows aimed at him. Sure enough, he heard five impact sounds against it.
Hearing the head guard's orders, the guards immediately created a shield around Rex's wagon with their bodies and shields.
Rex quickly pulled out his spear from his spatial ring but didn't join the battle. Instead, he waited patiently, hoping the fight wouldn't go on for too long.
~Awuuuu~
Rex looked at his wolf cub, Luna, and smiled while trying to calm her.
"Don't worry; everything will be alright," he said as he stroked her.
Although he said that, he still stayed alert in case any enemy managed to slip past his men.
A few seconds later, the arrows stopped, and the guards that were still alive immediately sprang into action as the bandits charged towards them.
The mages moved behind the close combat guards, and almost on cue, the first two wagons burst open as the butlers emerged, hands pointing towards the enemy while shooting out spells.
The head guard led the guards, clashing with the bandits headfirst, slicing off three bandits' heads in one go. Keeping the momentum up, the head guard began a massacre in the midst of the bandits' force.
Slowly but surely, his guards began to gain the upper hand, but then a cloaked man appeared beside the head guard and struck at him with his dagger.
At the same time, several other cloaked figures appeared beside some of Rex's stronger guards, striking at them.
Although the head guard managed to dodge the blow, he still took some damage.
The same couldn't be said for most of the targeted guards, as they met their untimely end.
"What is a Peak Rank 3 like you doing in this forest, robbing?" Rex's head guard asked as he looked at the cloaked figure that attacked him.
The battle paused, and both sides moved to regroup with their teams, eyeing each other cautiously.
Hearing the fight stop, Rex stepped out of his wagon just in time to hear his head guard ask the question.
Not hearing a response, the head guard tried to speak again, but Rex beat him to it as he planned to stop the fight as quickly as he could.
"We both know that we will suffer great loss if this fight continues, so why don't we give you part of the goods and we both go our separate ways? I promise I wouldn't pursue it."
Although it pained him to sacrifice part of his goods, he chose to do so to reduce the casualties.
"Haahhh Hahhhh Hahhhh, in a different setting, I would have agreed, but unfortunately, now I can't."
"You don't know who I am, do you?"
"On the contrary, I do in fact know who you are, Young Master Rex."
"Since you do know who I am, why are you taking so much risk just for two..." Rex paused as he came to the realisation that someone probably paid for his head.
"I see you understand what is going on fast enough. I guess the rumours about the third young master of the Luthor family being smart despite having a low talent and a weak body are true."
"Since you know who I am, you should also know that the Luthor family will seek you and will find your identity with the 'Death Source Seeking Altar', right?" Rex said, making a last resort to escape death.
"I know, but none of us really has to kill you directly, right? Just capture you, tie you up, and wait for a beast to feed on you, and it is settled. Besides, how sure are you that your family will waste a huge amount of resources just to find your killer?"
Rex's face crunched up as he realised that for the assassin to know this, he was definitely hired by one of his so-called brothers.
Although the 'Death Source Seeking Altar' could find out the cause of death of a person, it had two glaring flaws: it could only see a few moments before the person died, and it could only be registered to a small group of people.
Seeing that the last resort of the young master had failed, the head guard immediately said to him,
"Young master, leave. We will hold them as long as we can so you can escape."
Rex didn't bother pretending to be a saint. He grabbed Luna and said to the guards,
"I will remember this sacrifice of yours and take care of your family for as long as they live."
As he finished saying this, Rex bowed before he immediately circulated his legs with wind element mana and took off. The guards looked on with gratitude as they knew they couldn't survive this ordeal, and taking care of their families was their top priority.
Once Rex left, the battle began again as the head guard clashed with the enemy.
The guards had renewed morale to make sure Rex survived so their families could live happily afterwards.
The battle raged on until the head guard was sure Rex couldn't see or hear anything. He and the cloaked man immediately stopped attacking each other and started to kill off the other guards.
Seeing this, one of the guards shouted, "Leader, what are you doing? You are being mind-controlled. Snap out of it."
Hearing the words of the guard, the head guard replied, "Hahhhh hahhhh hahhhh, you think I work for that waste. No, I don't. The first young master paid me enough to last a lifetime just to set him up."
Hearing this, colour drained from the eyes of the guards, and whatever morale they had built up collapsed as they realised they were betrayed.
One of the guards looked at the head guard hopefully and said, "Leader, accept us. We wouldn't say anything."
The head guard, as well as the cloaked figure, chuckled as they heard this before the cloaked figure replied,
"Unfortunately, we can't." He turned to his men and said, "Leave only the women so we can have fun tonight."
"Yesssss," the men replied before continuing their killing.
Before long, all the men were dead while the women were tied up. The head guard looked at the cloaked figure and said, "You have the aura tracker with you, right?"
The cloaked figure nodded, and the head guard asked, "Then what are you still waiting for, or do you want to be the reason we fail this mission?"
Hearing this, the cloaked figure immediately took out an object before taking off in the direction that Rex had disappeared to.
Seeing this, the head guard turned his attention to the tied-up women as he licked his lips in anticipation of what he was going to do to them.
