Capítulo 13: Dengeki Bunko

Later that evening, at the Dengeki Bunko headquarters, there was a busy office.

The aroma of coffee in the air mixed with the slightly exhausting silence.

Neat rows of folders filled the desks, and various papers scattered on the floor formed a messy pattern.

The editors were faced with a mountain of manuscripts, their faces filled with exhaustion and helplessness.

Currently, the Dengeki Bunko editors were dealing with the influx of many poor-quality novels submitted for the Grand Prize.

They were physically and mentally tortured by works that lacked freshness and substance.

They were tired of cliché plots, uninnovative settings, shallow writing, not to mention characters lacking depth and endings that didn't surprise.

These novels were usually filtered by scenario writers to prevent leaks to the outside world and avoid readers' anger for being worse than toilet paper.

Kagurazaka Ayame poured a cup of coffee from the tea room and returned to her seat.

Seeing the desktop that had been cleared after reviewing all the manuscripts 10 minutes ago now occupied by another stack of manuscripts, her expression became numb.

"Why is the workload so much again?"

"It's normal, everyone has that much." Her colleague joked.

"Oh, I'll have to work overtime again tonight... Huh."

A manuscript placed in front of her caught her attention, and she had just planned to read two pages.

She didn't expect it to be quite interesting.

She shifted from skimming to reading word by word.

Kagurazaka's tone suddenly became a bit strange, as if something surprising had happened to her.

"What's wrong?"

Kagurazaka hesitated for a moment, then whispered, "This one... is a bit different."

"Which one?"

"This one, the writing has reached the average level in the industry, and the story's setting and character creation also have great potential." Kagurazaka said as she handed the manuscript to her colleague.

Her colleague took the manuscript, glanced at it, and nodded, "Indeed, it's good, although there are some areas that could be strengthened. But overall, this could be considered the best work. The author's name is Ryuga? Should we recommend him to the editor-in-chief?" Her colleague then asked.

"No need to call, I'm already here."

"Editor-in-chief, this is the novel that is likely to win the grand prize." Kagurazaka said.

"The quality of the submissions this time is too poor. If we can't find high-quality works, then we can only evaluate parallel imports as the grand prize. I'm worried our company will be severely reprimanded." The editor-in-chief asked in surprise.

The editor-in-chief took the manuscript and read it carefully. His eyes gradually lit up, very interested in the story.

"This novel is really good!" He praised.

"The writing is smooth, the plot is tight, and the characters are three-dimensional. It has great potential! It might even compete for the top three sales this year!"

Kagurazaka smiled and nodded, "I think so too."

The editor-in-chief handed the manuscript back to Kagurazaka, "Go and find out who the author is, then contact him. Ask him if he intends to publish his work with Dengeki Bunko."

Kagurazaka nodded. "Alright, I'll contact him immediately."

After school, Nagi looked towards Hiratsuka standing in front of the classroom door, smiling at him. Next to her, Hachiman's face turned pale, and Nagi felt helpless.

"Sensei, there's no need for you to call me, I'll go."

"Yes, we're ready to overthrow Yukinoshita's monopoly!" Satania stepped forward with Hitori.

"No, no, I'm just worried Hikigaya will walk into your class." Hiratsuka said without changing her expression.

"In that case, let's go." She said, grabbing Hachiman's hand and forcing him to move.

Nagi had no choice but to follow them, feeling a little amused in his heart.

Hiratsuka was indeed an experienced teacher; had she already predicted that Hachiman would try to escape?

But that's okay, at least Hachiman wouldn't be embarrassed if he failed to escape and was caught back to the club.

The four of them walked towards the school gate together, and Hiratsuka suddenly asked.

"Nanaba, in your opinion, what do you think of Yukinoshita Yukino?"

Nagi was slightly surprised, why was someone else asking this question?

He thought for a moment and replied. "She's a contradictory person... She pursues absolute justice and perfection, believing that everything in the world must be perfect. This concept often makes her appear too harsh and picky in interpersonal relationships. In short, I greatly admire her, as someone who also pursues absolute justice and perfection but then fails."

"That's true. She's always gentle and sensible, but this world isn't gentle or sensible. She must have led a very difficult life." Hiratsuka sighed with emotion.

"Yukinoshita isn't gentle. What are you talking about, Hiratsuka-sensei... Uh-huh." Satania held her head in pain.

The four of them arrived at the door of the Service Club's activity room together, and Hiratsuka stopped and said, "I won't go in, you guys do your best."

"Okay." Nagi, Hitori, and Satania said simultaneously.

"Hikigaya, why are you so quiet?"

"Nothing..."

It seemed like Hachiman still wanted to escape.

They opened the club door. Today, Mahiru and Yukino weren't chatting, but each was reading a book.

Seeing them enter, Mahiru greeted them.

"Good afternoon, Goto-san, Satania-san."

"Good afternoon! Yukinoshita, are you ready to be overthrown by us?" Satania provocatively asked with a smirk.

Without responding to her, Yukino greeted the two men again.

"Oh, I didn't see you earlier, Hikigaya-kun and Nanaba-kun."

When talking about Nagi, her tone became more serious.

"Good afternoon, Shiina, Yukinoshita-san." Nagi didn't pay attention to her provocation.

He didn't want to scare Hitori with their quarrels (laughs).

"...Hello, so what are we going to do now?" Hachiman greeted as he learned in kindergarten.

"At least, sit down now."

Their seating arrangement was also interesting, with Mahiru and Yukino sitting together near the window.

Nagi sat one chair away from them, with Hitori and Satania sitting behind him.

Hachiman was sitting alone near the door. He must have a lot to discuss with Nagi right now, but being in a room with so many beautiful girls made him feel very uncomfortable.

After asking for Yukino's opinion and getting permission to move freely without any trust, Nagi took out MAC from her school bag and started writing the second volume of "Plastic Memory." During this period, Hitori also began to talk to him in a low voice.

Satania took the initiative to provoke. "Yukoshita, I asked my classmates today, you don't have any friends, how pitiful~"

She grinned when she saw Yukino staring at her
