Capítulo 10: Surprised Lalasa

As Limon stepped through the portal of the Adventurer's Guild, the usual clamor of conversation seemed to dim, but today, the guild was even more alive than the previous day.

The lounge area was packed with more than twenty adventurers, some laughing and joking in groups, while others sat in contemplation. A few were quietly enjoying their drinks, lost in their thoughts.

Behind the counter, Limon spotted Lalasa, but instead of approaching her immediately, he decided to wander into the lounge and find a quiet corner. He needed a moment of calm after his eventful night.

"May I assist you, sir?" A soft voice broke through his thoughts as a female attendant appeared beside him. She had pointed, furry ears, and her outfit a black and white short skirt accentuated her delicate figure. Her sharp pupils and oval face added to her otherworldly charm.

Limon glanced up at her and asked, "Do you have any refreshing beverages? Something other than wine, please."

The attendant smiled warmly. "We have grape juice, tangy sour juice, and refreshing green juice. They're all quite sweet and delicious."

Limon thought for a moment before replying, "I'll have the grape juice."

"Certainly, sir. Please wait just a moment," she said, before turning and walking away with an elegant grace.

Limon settled into his seat, enjoying the atmosphere around him. He tuned into the low murmur of conversation from the adventurers nearby, knowing there might be some useful information in the idle chatter.

"I heard the rat tribe in the Northern Hills has summoned the evil god 'Axis,'" one adventurer said, his voice filled with curiosity. The group at the neighboring table—two spellcasters, a warrior, and a nimble wind walker had been talking in low voices. The human warrior was the one to bring up the rumor.

"That's just a baseless rumor," another adventurer responded. "If it were true, there'd be an official notice from the guild. Besides, 'Axis,' the malevolent fire god, hasn't appeared in years.

Remember the catastrophe from five years ago? The third magic tide brought a surge of arcane power, and all these evil gods appeared. It was a global disaster. Many nations were wiped out, including a third of Arizela. We lost so many lives."

"True," the warrior admitted, his face reddening with embarrassment for believing the rumor.

"But there might be something to it," the elf in the group added thoughtfully. "The rat tribe's been raiding the Haider Desert's trade routes more frequently lately. There's definitely unrest in the Northern Hills. The Bronze Guard's been increasing their patrols."

Limon took note of the conversation.

An evil god, summoned by the rat tribe? It sounded like a serious situation. He was curious to learn more but was interrupted when the attendant returned with his grape juice.

"Here you are, sir," she said, setting down the wooden cup in front of him.

After paying, Limon took a sip. The cool, slightly fermented flavor was smooth, with just the right balance of sweetness. It refreshed him immediately.

"Very pleasant," he murmured, his mind still occupied with the rumors. An evil god. If such beings were involved, this was no small matter. And what was this about the magic tide? Limon had heard bits and pieces about it but didn't yet grasp its full significance. He needed more information.

Finishing his drink, Limon stood up and walked toward the counter. His knowledge of this world was still lacking, and he knew understanding it would take time.

"Ah, it's you," Lalasa greeted him as she recognized Limon, offering him a kind smile. "I suppose, as a spellcaster, it must have been tough dealing with those monsters alone. Don't worry, new adventurers always face challenges."

Lalasa's gentle tone was reassuring. As the guild's president, she had seen her fair share of adventurers and knew how to handle novices with care.

Lalasa was also aware of the commission from Laladoya. There hadn't been any tasks suitable for a beginner, so she had suggested Limon try his hand at clearing out the undead. After all, those skeletons were weak, and even if things got tough, Limon could always escape.

"This young man might have misunderstood something," Lalasa thought to herself with a small, knowing smile.

Limon ignored her slightly amused look and pulled the card Laladoya had given him from his pouch. He handed it over to her.

"This is the task voucher," he explained. "I completed the mission."

Lalasa's eyebrows rose as she read the card, her eyes wide with surprise. She blinked a few times, clearly astonished by what she saw.

Limon watched as her expression changed, and then she looked up at him, her surprise still lingering.

"It seems, Mr. Limon, that you are quite the experienced professional. To defeat so many undead in just one night…" she trailed off, her tone mixed with awe and curiosity.

After a brief pause, she shook her head with a smile and pulled out a small enchanted tome. The pages were blank, but as she wrote, the words appeared on the page, only to vanish moments later. This was the guild's record-keeping system.

As she worked, Limon couldn't help but feel the weight of her words. He hadn't expected such a reaction. But now, with the task officially recorded, he could look forward to his reward.
