Capítulo 20: Monster, Rampage and Chaos
*BREAKING NEWS*
It has been recorded that unknown ferocious beasts and unidentified entities have been filling up the streets in Stellenbosch. With some malodorous stench been recorded last week, we are seeing the presence of new appearances in our midst. Over 200 women and children has been killed, slaughtered and maimed and the death toll kept skyrocketing. The land is in chaos and the people are evacuating in masses. The president has assured the safety of lives and properties with the mobilisation of military powers into Stellenbosch. The military Spokesman assured that the beast would be contained in Stellenbosch to prevent them spreading to other towns and cities.

The Newscaster turned had rigid after what happened backstage. Looking intently at a particular direction, toppling of equipment and growling could be heard. Shrieks and Screams emanated from the News station. The Newscaster who had been horrified by what only her eyes could see at the backstage tripped over her chair, fell and fainted.
Everyone watching the news gasped. Viewers all over the city were in disbelief with the happenings unfolding in front of them.
Appearing on the camera, a drool, followed by a resonating growl, guttural and monstrous, slowly the beast appeared on the screen, looking straight at the camera, it licked the camera lens, blurring the view with thick slime of saliva. It roared so hard, everybody behind the television or radio either flinched, stepped back or ran away. From the blurry view, the beast pounced on the newscaster and tore her open.
Everywhere was in chaos. Cars and trucks slamming into each other at full speed. Pedestrians running into the roads with car screeching to a stop, but some were not that lucky. Mothers abandoned their babies in their strollers and ran. Some could be seen on their knees praying to whatever gods they believed in.
Cars were left opened and abandoned with its security alarms blasting. At home, parents and guardians were parking all necessity they could grab and stormed out of the houses. Nobody could explain what was happening, no one could give them assurance of safety, no one knew where they were running to, but everyone was running helter-skelter.
A woman stood pointing to a particular location, "Look!".
People turned towards the direction she pointed to and another storm of pandemonium arose. They screamed and started running to the opposite direction. Some running out of their cars while some drove straight into either a building, traffic pole or over the bridge.
"Mom!" A little girl had screamed after her mom had abandoned her out of terror.
The beast who was twenty meters tall, two legs and two arms with 2 long sickled-like appendages to his left and right sides. Multiple eyes, about two hundred dinosaur-like teeth neatly arranged on its jaws as it roared with a rampage intent. It bent down, bringing his head closer to the little kid. Curiously looking at the tiny humans in front of it, it growled slowly. Suddenly gunshots and bullets began raining down on the monster. Aggravated by the disturbance, the monster used the blunt side of his sickled-like appendage to swing the girl away from his view. The girl had been thrown over a distance of about seventy meters out and got stuck on a tree branch by the helm of her cloth. She cried as the tree branches swung her like a pendulum bob in the air.
Brewing with rage, the monster had let out a deafening high pitched scream that could have popped the ear drums of anyone within fifty metres. Swinging it arms, two cars went flying towards the military men shooting at it. The cars had landed in their midst like a meteor hit the ground. More military men kept trooping in to contain or bring down the monster.
Then two more monsters appeared.
The knees of some of the military men had buckled and jerked. One military man even dropped his gun out of bewilderment. Cars kept flying in the sky like base balls, trucks been split in twos and dismantled like toys. Viscos red fluid streamed off the road from humans that have been squashed, sliced or slammed.
"ATTENTION! ATTENTION!! Every one is advised to evacuate this premises now as heavy military activity is about to begin. We have been ordered by the Field Marshal of the military that this things must not leave here. Heavy and lethal forces has been permitted. All military personnel have been ordered to load up and aim. We are to keep this monsters here till additional and aerial support arrives".
The voice had came from a helicopter hovering above. Angered by the noise and the whirring of the helicopter blade, one of the monster leaped into the sky, jumping over sixty meters and sent the helicopter scattering away in two. It sickled-like appendage had sliced through the helicopter like hot knife through butter. The force of the impact had sent the two separated parts flying in opposite directions. Landing on the ground nearby, the helicopter exploded and burst into flames.

The president office phone kept buzzing erratically. The President sat with most political holding individual and military men trying to find a way around this invasion. All eyes were on the president to make a decision. The phones of the top heads of the armed forces kept ringing, but none of them were picking or answering the calls.
The secretary to the office of the president had knocked and walked in, frights written all over her face, "You have a private call Sir".
"Please, I'm not in the mood to pick any calls". The president answered.
"It's Lucas Moro, Sir". The secretary chipped in.
The president turned towards the secretary, "Bring me the phone".
"Hello, this is the president".
"Yeah, this is Lucas Moro".
"What is the progress regarding the experiment? All hell has broken loose here" The president said with quivers in his voice.
"Hell is a lesser problem to this, Mr President. The experiment had gone bad. The boy was dead and he somehow resurrected without putting him in the amniotic fluid tank. We have made a killing machine with our own hands. As...as I am talking to you, Mr President, The lab scientist and four men are dead. I ran out of the lab to hide. I can't find Jayden at the moment".
The president was stunned. The other personnel in the room with him were astonished.
"What have we done!" The air force commander whispered.
