Capítulo 17: Trip down memory lane (Part 4) : Cat and Kitten.

"Rise," Alec said.

"Today we are all gathered here to welcome our esteemed guests His Excellency Edward Roland and Her Excellency Jenny Roland, The Emperor and his wife of the Empire of Conley!! Today we will bring peace to our both Empires from the hatred of generations!!" Alec Continued of course this was not from his heart but a written speech.

Soon a handsome man with white hair and a woman with black hair came in from another door. This was Edward and Jenny.

After meeting up with the nobles of Ancorna and other guests both of the imperial family went to a private meeting room.

Edward's guards stood at the entrance on the left while Alec's on the left. The amount of knights in this room is enough to tell anyone that both of these Empires were not actually on good terms.

Alec and Edward sat on sofas opposite to each other in between them was a table. On Alec's right is his first wife,Marie Ewan - Landon's Mother :Black Hair, Black eyes with snow white skin.

on his left Halsey Ewan ,Second Wife, James Mother:Black Hair, Gray eyes and a little tan skin.

On his far left Olivia Ewan, Third Wife , Eli's mother : Brown Hair, Green eyes and pale.

And on Edward's right is his only wife Jenny.

"I heard All your loyal dogs have been barking at each other recently. Is it true your excellency Alec?" Asked Edward with a small smirk on his face.

Alec really regretted ever trying to conquer Conley without planning now civil war was right at his doorstep. He knew Edward did all this but he has no proof to convince all the kingdoms and nobles in his empire that all the accusations against each other are false. This is the reason why Edward is not talking about it directly, he is indirectly indicating it as to not give Alec any chance to get proof that he is behind their civil war.

"Yeah I don't know why?" Alec said as if in deep thought.

"Well it may be because I sent them some bones as gifts," said Edward with a smirk.

"Yeah your gifts are really stirring up trouble with the dogs your excellency" Alec replied he got confirmation that this was his doing.

"It must be really troublesome for you," said Edward, making a sad face.

"What are you talking about? Your Excellency Alec, I don't remember you owning dogs?" Said Marie, she really failed to read the room.

Alec glared at her. She shut her mouth.

"I guess your wives are not well informed of your excellency" said Jenny with scuff, she can't believe these women's idiocy one should know women in Conley were able to rule, participate in politics and were even given combat training if they wanted but Ancorna and other Empires in the continent weren't like that.

"I believe you might be able to help me with the dogs, your excellency Edward. After all, it's because of you that they are biting each other's tail." Said Alec.

"I don't see a reason in helping you , what might I gain from helping you?"said Edward

Alec knew where this was heading from the start Edward goal was Lain after all Ancorna still haven't burnt under Conley's conspiracies till now was because Edward loved her and wants her alive but he can't just take her because she is an illegitimate wife now so he had been postponing any plans to overthrow Ancorna for a long time.

"You are forgetting Edward I have your Cat and Kitten with me" said Alec with a smirk. He didn't even call him 'excellency' this time because he knows he still has an upper hand.

"You should really choose your words wisely Alec because if anything happens to my Cat or Kitten I am pretty sure what would happen" said Edward.

"Hmp now you are talking so will you help me with the dogs?" Said Alec feeling better.

" Sure but I would like to see how you treat my Cat so I don't need to take drastic measures" said Edward, this confused Alec what is he talking about?

Suddenly a figure walked into the room, Alec looked to see who it was. It was Lain with Hughes coming with her as bodyguard.

"Sneer" " What's the Bitch doing here?" "I thought this was a royal meeting from when are lowly bitches allowed to enter?"

All of Alec's wives started insulting her as if it was the most normal thing to do. But when they saw that Alec was not at all supporting them like he usually does they looked at him.

They can see the rage in his eyes as if he will skin them alive right here. They can feel the intense anger coming from him.

"See even if I help you my Cat won't live long because of the Hyenas so isn't it better for me to take the risk and let the dogs run free and save the cat later?" Said Edward seeing Alec's face couldn't help but feel like laughing.

"Ahem I assure you that you won't have to do such things I will make sure the Hyenas stay away from the Cat" said Alec, for the last 10 years his wives have done many horrible things to Lain and he turned a blind eye to them but now he knew that he can't let that happen anymore or else his kingdom will be torn apart from the inside.

"I guess we have a deal then you take care of my Cat and her Kitten , I will take care of the dogs but remember if I hear from the cat I will release the dogs." Said Edward and drank a cup of water.

Suddenly he started choking , coughing and fell down from the sofa. Alec couldn't believe what was happening neither could everyone sitting here.

"What! Are you waiting to get the physician here now!" Said Jenny.

"Seal the palace. I don't want a single person to leave! Catch the bastard who dared to poison my guest! ! " Alec shouted with rage.

Edward choked, coughing and his face looked pale as if dying. Alec fears that if Edward died here his Civil war will not be solved. Worst a full on war will start burying his Empire in history.

As soon as the physician came into view Alec jumped on him telling him to save Edward no matter what or else he would have his head.

He went to meet the kitchen staff , he was going to search for the culprit himself.

After a while in a room many people stood beside Edward's bed. He was saved but was unconscious, these people were Jenny, his wife, Lain , Hughes and Keith.

Edward slowly woke up coughing and said

"Getting poisoned is really an experience.."

Everyone looked at him and smiled, Edward smiled back.

"I was really scared you know next time let's try to minimize our risks ok?" Said Jenny while stroking his hair.

"Yeah this was a really dangerous idea Ed" Said Lain looking at him lovingly.

"So was it successful? I mean phase 1?" Asked Edward.

"It was more than successful, your excellency Alec totally brought into the scheme. He believed his commander general did it and already executed him.

"Woah, that was faster than we anticipated," Edward said.

That's right , this whole situation was orchestrated by them. Their goal? To remove Commander General Denial from his Position and place Keith in that position as their Spy.

But they can't just assassinate Denial and place Keith there that would be suspicious so what they did was make a situation where it looked like Denial tried to assassinate Edward in return Alec killed him.

Keith is the deputy general commander of Ancorna so now he will become the General Commander. Nobody knows that Keith had pledged his loyalty to Lain. Nobody will suspect him to be a spy hence this plan works wonderfully and what was this operation's name? It is

Cat and Kitten, that's right Edward's goal is to make Eugene sit on the throne of Ancorna and for that they need a spy inside the military. The whole civil war tension was made so Alec would agree to meet up with Edward then use this chance to bring down the general commander and Alec's reputation.

It worked like a charm but this hasn't ended yet this is just phase 1.

If this chapter feels rushed then I am really sorry, this is my first time writing so please cut me some slack. I am trying to finish these flashbacks fast so we can get forward in main story.
