In the vast darkness with only the flashlight giving him company. Gem moved towards the truck with slow and steady steps, ready to react regarding any unexpected situation.
Nearing the truck, he noticed a problem. The front part of the truck had crashed in the tree
a lot harder than he had expected.Due to this the truck probably wouldn't start facing some mechanical problem.
Faced with the unexpected situation he decided to turn on the lights of the truck for now, and think of a solution. He slowly made his way to the open door and cautiously showed the light inside the truck, expecting something to jump upon him.
Fortunately there was nothing wrong with the inside of the truck this time around.
Releasing a sigh of relief, he searched for the light button. He eventually found the light button and immediately pressed it, there was no response. He once again pressed it, still the response remained the same.
Filled with fright and anger Gem started to slam the light button erratically with all his strength.
Despite all that there was no response from the lights. Getting frustrated from the situation, he shouted loudly 'damn it fucking work already',and gave it his last slam. Despite that there was still no response from the light. Dissapointed with the outcome he eventually decided to give up.
He then thought about checking if the truck would start, just as he expected there was no response from the truck.
Abruptly, his gut feeling were telling him that staying near the truck was a bad idea, with all the sound and commotion he had caused.
Once again out of options he went towards the cliff, as he was slowly moving towards the cliff , a few meters in font of the cliff he saw a rock of about 20 inches in height.
Tired and confused he decided to sit in the stone, which to his suprise was very comfortable. He thought that it was probably due to all the stress and tiredness he was facing.
Faced with the despairing situation. He tried to find hope with in himself inorder to get through the situation, because hope can often create miracle.
But in contrast to his goal of finding hope, instead what he found was an even greater despair. With a bland and meaningless life with no enjoyment. Everything felt monotonous with nothing to indulge himself with nor a goal to aspire for.
He was alone with no family members or a loved one. Everyone in his family had passed away due to unfortunate accident's, as if the family was cursed.
All these thoughts led to him thinking about the reason he climbed the damn mountain. He quickly realized that he had an ill grandmother who was his only living relative, who desperately needed medical attention.
Thinking that he had found some kind hope and a sense of duty. He was ready to embark in another desperate try. Just as he was about to get up.
He felt as if the missing part of a puzzle had been found.
He came to a frightening realization, he didn't have a grandmother. She had already passed away a few years ago. Realizing this he felt another cold shiver run down his back.
All the decisions he made tonight seemed hazy and seemed illogical .He felt out of character, as if he was in a trance. He realized that once he stared into the mountain all these weird events started.
Feeling that his mind was clear, he became certain that he would probably meet his end here. There wasn't a way out. Everything that happened seemed some how correlated. It was as if he was in a insect trapped in a spiders web, with each of his desperate action only giving way for the spider to get near him.
Felling as if everything about the situation was against him he felt his death was certain. Rather than getting scared and dying like a coward in the end he decided to fight back regardless of the situation.
He didn't know what exactly he was fighting but he didn't care he was felling extremely motivated with his blood boiling.
Just then he felt something moving besides him he looked to the side and saw something disturbing.
Instead of the stone he was sitting, somehow he found himself on the chest of a dead man.
Due to the mental adjustment he had done just now he was filled with adrenaline. He pulled back his fist and sunk in the corps face, his hand bashed the sull of the corpse. All the anger and fear he had was poured through the continuous strike to the skull. The corps was cold and almost rotting, this lead to the skull being cracked and brain matter to scatter around him. This lead to the horrifying seen of blood and gore all around him. His hand and upper body was covered with sticky, slimy substance which was cold to the touch.
As the situation settled down, a disgusting stench reached his nose added with the disgusting visage of the corpse with his skull inside out. Gem felt a bit disgusted and wanted to puke, but he held back, as he was a bit tolerant regarding such bloody situations. Since, as a child he had seen his father butcher animals as he was a butcher , observing the corpse he expected some sudden move. he didn't let his guard down. Slowly he got a familiar with the dead corpse with the mashed head, and started to fell less disgusted. He started to slowly calm down.
As the adrenaline in his body settled down. His right hand started to hurt due to his sudden outburst. Despite all this he didn't move his eyes from the corpse and slowly backed away.
With his left hand occupied with the phone he flashed the light on his right hand in order to search for an visible injury.
But what he saw, sent chills down his body.
