"Since 'Wrong Turn' is an R-rated horror film, its premiere began at midnight," Christian whispered to Charlize, who stood beside him, sounding slightly dissatisfied.
Christian understood Charlize's mood quite well. The "Night Owl" theater, though well-run, had rather low-end decor and a small scale, making it an unconventional choice for a movie premiere.
Initially, Christian had reservations when the producer, Westwood, proposed holding the premiere at this theater. However, Westwood explained that the "Night Owl" had a unique reputation among Los Angeles' horror movie enthusiasts, with rumors suggesting that the midnight screening experience there was three times more terrifying. While the reason behind these rumors was unclear, the theater's higher midnight attendance rate was supported by past box office data.
Hence, Christian eventually accepted the producer's suggestion, recognizing that "Night Owl" was originally constructed on the grounds of a church, which aligned with his plans.
However, Christian didn't share these reasons with Charlize because he knew her dissatisfaction was not with the choice of theater but rather the premiere itself.
According to the plan, the premiere of "Wrong Turn" skipped the usual red carpet event and merely featured the main creative team's presence. The lack of glamour was not due to the absence of celebrity actors in the cast but primarily because the producer had overspent during the Alan incident, leaving little budget for the premiere.
Charlize, visibly upset, said, "It's a shame, I was looking forward to walking the red carpet. I even sent Penny a few movie tickets in the hope that she'd see me as the leading lady."
Her true disappointment lay in missing the opportunity to walk the red carpet, an expectation she'd harbored for over two months.
Christian consoled her, "Trust me, Sally. You'll have many red carpet opportunities in the future, I promise," all the while pondering his plans.
Christian, however, was taken aback by Charlize's question, "By the way, Christian, why did you ask me to prepare two consecutive tickets for the show? Even if you want to go to the box office, it is useless to rely on it"
"Have you forgotten the second script I gave you before? The performance above can only be understood by watching two consecutive screenings."
Charlize suddenly realized and asked, "You mean"
Christian nodded and asked, "By the way, the bottle I told you to bring, did you bring it?"
Christian nodded again, and they began preparing.

Meanwhile, outside the "Night Owl" theater, four young men of varying heights were hesitating.
"Leonard, are you sure you want to use the four tickets Petunia gave us to watch 'Wrong Turn'?" the tall one asked the shorter friend.
"Don't worry, Sheldon" Leonard replied impatiently.
"Even if this movie is related to a serial killer, he should have appeared in the Vinales Valley mentioned in the news, not this movie theater."
"That's right! Don't worry, Sheldon" Howard chimed in, who was as short as Leonard and as thin as Sheldon.
"However, I am curious, why would Petunia suddenly buys four movie tickets but doesn't watch the movie herself, and instead give them to us?" Rajesh, the fourth young man with dark skin, added.
"Penny was happy for her good friend's success, but she was afraid that she would be jealous, so in the end, she couldn't decide to come," Leonard explained.
"So she gave us the ticket?" Howard realized, but then gave Rajesh a puzzled look.
"Wait, how do you know this?" He inquired.
Rajesh wore a wry smile, "If you never open your mouth to speak in front of women, they will sometimes treat you as a natural confession object, like a large pillow—what can I do? I am helpless too"
"Thanks for your hard work, brother" Leonard patted Rajesh on the shoulder, and Rajesh shrugged.
"I'm used to it. But do we want to watch this horror movie called 'Wrong Turn'?" Rajesh glanced at the poster hanging on the wall and involuntarily shrank back, earning a chuckle from Howard, who often accompanied him.
"I remember you said you are not afraid of American horror movies anymore?" Howard quipped.
"Of course, I am not afraid" Rajesh's response was calm. "But my bladder is scared."
"..."
"I think we'd better come in quickly; the premiere is about to begin. The first four teasers can be considered to be in"
Emily frowned at the idea of watching a horror movie with a group of people.
"You are four grown men. Do you need someone to accompany you to the bathroom?"
Emily herself, despite her disdain for such behavior, was indeed a genuine young woman. She had just turned 18 this year, allowing her to legally watch R-rated films for only a year. If you counted the times she watched them illegally, Emily's history with R-rated films would be much longer.
Her father's video rental business and his fondness for watching horror movies and videos while eating had a significant influence on her. Her father often boasted to Emily, "Emily, Quentin Tarantino worked under me; do you want his autograph?" But the rebellious girl never believed it. She preferred watching horror movies alone to experience the thrill.
"If it weren't for the overwhelming reports of corpses found in the Vinales Valley some time ago, I might not have noticed this film." Emily contemplated as she looked at the poster on the wall. Suddenly, she noticed a line of inconspicuous text under the poster:
"Watching two times in a row, you will find more hidden stories."
Emily wondered if this was a marketing technique or something else.
She ultimately shook her head, saying, "Forget it, The premiere is about to begin. Let's hurry and buy a bucket of popcorn to get inside"
