'Don't find it?'

In the world of painted walls conjured by Christian with magic, Wei Changhui secretly prayed. Despite co-founding the God-Worshipping Association with Hong Xiuquan and others, Wei Changhui never believed in it. He held no faith in God or Buddha, only in himself. However, after being manipulated by Christian, a foreigner, Wei Changhui couldn't help but hope for some stroke of luck. He truly needed it.

"Now my consciousness is sealed here, and my body is out of control. If the beastly instinct erupts..."

As a Mandrill, Wei Changhui was somewhat immortal. However, even living creatures couldn't withstand the ravages of time. His original body had decayed over approximately 140 years. The reason for his continued existence was his consciousness or soul latching onto a new body.

This new body was that of a massive tiger. Compared to human bodies, it could better handle the strain of Wei Changhui's powerful soul parasitism. It offered swift running speed and sharp claws, far superior to the feeble limbs of humans. Of course, there were pros and cons. The tiger's overwhelming wild impulse was its biggest drawback. As a result, Wei Changhui spent most of his time sleeping in the depths of a cave, using spells to take on a human form when interacting with outsiders.

However, in recent years, aside from Christian and Charlize, anyone who met him eventually became his prey.

Now, Wei Changhui's consciousness had been temporarily sealed by Christian in this world. There was no way to restrain the tiger's body and keep it dormant.

"Even if I were to escape and be discovered, no one should be able to challenge that powerful body with its razor-sharp claws, right?" Wei Changhui reassured himself.

But he had forgotten one crucial thing—firearms.

*****************

"What kind of monster is this?"

Kate sat at the cave entrance, gasping for breath. Her gun had just discharged, and the barrel was still warm. Nearby lay a massive black figure. It was a tiger, but its head appeared larger than normal. Its paws and the corners of its mouth were tinged with a faint red hue like it had been gnawing on flesh.

"Agent Kate, we've found numerous corpses in the cave" A voice echoed from within the cavern. Kate was startled but immediately focused on the message.

A multitude of bodies?

Could this be?

Disregarding her tension and mental fatigue after the sudden gunshot, Kate bent over and entered the cave. Several forensic officers had already set up emergency lights, casting a pale glow throughout the cave. Stacks of corpses lay there, their eyes fixed on the cave entrance, yearning to see the sky once more.

"This is overwhelming!!" Kate couldn't help but shudder, her scalp tingling.

"Nonetheless, we've finally discovered the lair of the serial killer in the Vinales Valley. Our efforts tonight were not in vain"

As the person in charge of this secret operation, she took a deep breath, pondering—

Is this what the anonymous informant had hoped they'd uncover?

***************

Indeed, it was Christian who anonymously called the FBI.

He hadn't witnessed any of the cases. The reason for the call was to seek the FBI's assistance in uncovering Wei Changhui's escape route.

During the decisive battle with Wei Changhui in the inner world of "Wrong Turn", he didn't know where Wei Changhui's true body was, but he was certain that after more than 140 years, Wei Changhui's original body must have deteriorated. The current physical body, whether through possession or parasitism, couldn't match the original.

This presented an opportunity.

When Christian forcibly pulled Wei Changhui's consciousness into the world created by the wall painting spell, 80% of the opponent's body would lose control. At the same time, the group of spirits would also be uncontrolled.

These spirits were originally composed of the souls of the slain. With Wei Changhui's consciousness sealed and unable to tend to them, Christian believed they had a significant chance of returning.

Christian didn't expect the group of guys who feared Wei Changhui as a ghost to cause much trouble. But the commotion they stirred might draw the attention of another group—real people, the FBI, who were searching for the missing individuals.

This was essentially a game of chess, and it might even unfold without the ghosts reversing course. After all, Stockholm syndrome doesn't only affect the living; it can affect ghosts too. A series of events might not transpire afterward.

Even if everything proceeded smoothly, if the ghostly backlash brought the FBI, who, in turn, harmed or even killed Wei Changhui's parasitic body, it wouldn't have much impact.

Mandrills are, after all, a type of ghost that parasitically clings to living beings, seeking to prolong their existence. If the host is killed, the mandrill wouldn't inflict significant damage.

After all, that's why it's called parasitic.

What Christian truly desired was to evoke shock and, above all, fear in Wei Changhui.

"Like now"

The explosion of cabins in the world mirrored the audience's experience watching a movie. Simultaneously, it signaled the imminent disintegration of Christian's sealed world.

As the movie approached its conclusion, Christian's ultimate move was about to begin.

At this moment, the second audience thoroughly experienced the horror of the female ghost, and the fear entirely transferred to her actor, Alexis.

At this point, Alexis's power gradually grew. In this world, she started to overpower Wei Changhui, from whom she had stolen her power.

Because the seal was about to be lifted, Wei Changhui might be able to sense his physical state. Yet, as he watched the other person emerging from the flames of the explosion looking frustrated, Christian believed this was excellent news—for Christian.

"You're frightened"

Christian's words seemed both suggestive and prophetic.

"You should be afraid"

Wei Changhui panted heavily but refused to display any weakness.

At the moment of the cabin's explosion, Wei Changhui felt the seal loosening. He knew the wall-painting spell wouldn't last long. He attempted to sense his body, but what he learned was discouraging.

The body he had possessed, the sturdy tiger, had been shot and killed. This news was unexpected. While the body wasn't crucial to him, its absence in the presence of the peculiar wall-painting spell meant he had lost the coordinates for return. When the spell was lifted, his consciousness or soul would be cast to some remote corner of the world.

For the almost immortal Wei Changhui, this wasn't unbearable. It was more a pity regarding the group of ghosts in the Vinales Valley, and...

'Can I be killed here?'

His words were fierce, but Wei Changhui was nervously considering his options.

In the real world, he had amassed over a century's worth of mana. Naturally, he wasn't afraid of Christian, a novice who had only been practicing spells for a few years. Unfortunately, he fell into the other's trap, dragging only his consciousness and soul into this walled world.

In this world, his power, lacking a strong physical body and the ability to summon ghosts, was greatly diminished. There was no guarantee of his victory.

"Don't fret; you won't get the chance to confront me. I prefer a more technical approach," Christian said, a mocking smile in place, as he grabbed Charlize's right hand and shook it firmly.

"And, it's not you I'm afraid of"

After uttering these words, he extended his right index finger, touching the side of Alexis' forehead.

"What?"

Before Alexis could react, her body vanished like a soap bubble punctured, beautiful yet fragile.

In the next moment, a storm capable of tearing the very fabric of reality swept across the entire world.
