Capítulo 38: Chapter 38
Sonic, avoiding Pico's attempts at attacks, reached out his hand and pet the small, outlying orange tuft of hair on Pico's head. Pico stopped trying to hit Sonic's hand and looked to be enjoying the pets. He closed his eyes and moved his head to the motion of Sonic's hands now moving around to his ears. This mammoth WAS kind of like a Chao. On one hand, it was adorable! You could pet it, love it, take care of it... but on the other it was vulnerable. You could easily throw it, hurt it and abuse it. Sonic preferred the former rather than the latter with his Chao, so why not the same for this funny little creature?
Tails and Sonja gushed over Sonic's display of care towards this mammoth. It was rare to see this sort of affection coming from the blue blur. So it's a special occasion to see these moments come up, like a holiday. This feeling also made Sonic happy. It reminded him of a time long ago when someone used to take care of him. These memories, also, were foggy and hard to make sense of.
