Capítulo 38: Chapter 38: Mafia Family Meeting

The week rushed by so fast that our plans were still not fine-tuned. The mafia family meeting has been set in Killian’s private condo since security is paramount. Zoya and Maurice joined in to ensure that everything has been coordinated. All the mafia families arrived and were seated by the time Killian walked in.

“Chairman Killian.” They all stood up in greeting.

“Forget the formalities. Have a seat everyone,” Kilian calmly and politely said.

The meeting took off as all the families briefed us on the businesses, investments, and corporations that we had. Each had a task and announced the sales reports, money in and out, and how well the businesses were doing.

Uncle and Aunty Nemesio kept their cool, but I could feel the anxiety coming out of Maurice and Zoya. Killian seemed unperturbed but I knew that he was worried.

After every family brief, Killian asked, “Is there another matter that needs to be raised?”

“Yes,” Uncle Nemesio said and stood up.
