Capítulo 19: Chapter 19: Final Battle Part 1

"Gaia, how long until we reach Avengers Tower?" Pietro asked, his tone calm but focused.

"Around two hours, my lord," Gaia responded.

"Keep me informed if anything urgent comes up," Pietro said, his voice steady as he turned away.

As he started to walk off, Steve called after him, "You've been holding back since the first time we fought, haven't you?"

Pietro paused and nodded slightly. "Yes, you're right."

"Why?" Steve pressed, his expression a mix of curiosity and concern.

"Because it's too easy to kill the Avengers," Pietro replied, his voice chillingly matter-of-fact. "With just a flick of my wrist, I could pierce a heart. That's why I hold back—to avoid accidentally killing anyone."

Steve frowned, unsettled by how casually Pietro spoke about something so deadly. "How can you talk about that so easily?"

"I was born in a war, Cap," Pietro said, his voice carrying the weight of a life lived in conflict.

Steve studied him for a moment, then asked, "Then why follow Ultron?"

'Canon Event,' Pietro thought to himself, a small, hidden smile forming in his mind. Out loud, he answered, "Because... we were promised a better world."

Steve's expression softened as he began to understand the twins' motivations.

"Dr. Helen," Pietro called out, turning his attention to her. "I need a word with you."

"Me?" Helen responded, a bit surprised.

Pietro led her to a corner of the jet, and without missing a beat, Gaia blasted music at full volume to ensure their conversation stayed private from Wanda.

Leaning in close, Pietro whispered in Helen's ear, "Can I stay with you after all of this is over?"

Helen looked at him, puzzled. She leaned in and whispered back, "Why?"

"I need your help," Pietro replied softly. "I saved you, didn't I? Can't you do me this one favor?"

After a moment's hesitation, Helen nodded. "Alright, you can stay with me."

"Thank you," Pietro said, his gratitude genuine.

As the music gradually faded, Pietro walked back toward the main area, where Wanda approached him, suspicion in her eyes. "What were you talking about?"

"Nothing important," Pietro said, brushing off her concern.

"You've been acting strange lately," Wanda said, her voice tinged with worry. "I feel like you're hiding something."

"Everyone has their secrets," Pietro replied. "Why should I share mine when you're keeping things buried deep inside too?"

"Fair point," Wanda conceded, but her gaze dropped as she added quietly, "I'm sorry."

"For what?" Pietro asked, his tone softening.

"This whole Ultron mess," Wanda admitted, her voice filled with regret.

"It's fine," Pietro said, gently patting her shoulder. "Nothing too terrible happened."

With that, Pietro took a seat at the driver's position, preparing for the journey ahead. As they waited, he focused on training his vibration abilities, fine-tuning his control, while simultaneously reading through research papers on the jet's screen, his mind ever active, planning for what was to come.

2 hour passed by,

The jet flew near Avengers Tower, and Pietro turned to Steve. "You should talk to your team."

Steve nodded and activated his comms. "Tony, it's Steve."

After a moment, the jet was granted clearance to land. As it touched down at Avengers Tower, Pietro gave a few quick instructions to Gaia. When he disembarked, he noticed a group of technicians nearby and directed them to refuel the jet.

With that settled, Pietro headed inside, only to find Tony, Banner, Steve, and Wanda locked in a heated argument. He paused at the doorway, observing the chaos with a calm, detached expression, Helen standing beside him.

"Aren't you going to do something?" Helen asked, eyeing him curiously.

Pietro shook his head slightly, a faint smirk on his lips. "No, it's quite entertaining."

Helen frowned, unsure whether he was joking or serious. Before she could press further, Thor burst onto the scene, divine lightning crackling from his hammer. He unleashed a powerful bolt into the Cradle, overloading it with energy. The device exploded, sending Thor sprawling backward.

Amidst the chaos, a man with a red body emerged from the Cradle. Almost immediately, he attacked Thor, only for the god of thunder to hurl him across the room, shattering a window. The red figure stopped himself just short of crashing through another window, hovering in mid-air.

Thor recovered quickly, leaping toward the red man as Steve approached cautiously. Thor raised a hand, signaling for Steve to stay back.

As the others gathered around the mysterious figure, Pietro leaned toward Helen. "I'm going to take the Cradle, load it onto my jet, and send it back to you in South Korea."

Helen raised an eyebrow. "Why are you doing all this? Trying to win my favor?"

Pietro gave her a sly grin. "Pretty much. Plus, I have a thing for Asian girls. So, yeah, that's why I've been helping you so much."

Helen was caught off guard by his candidness, a blush creeping up her cheeks.

Pietro didn't wait for a response. In a blur of motion, he used his superspeed to push the Cradle onto the jet. Once inside, he connected the Cradle to the jet's systems.

"Think it's possible to fix this here?" Pietro asked, his tone all business now.

"Unlikely," Gaia replied. "But I can reconfigure the data and systems, possibly making some improvements."

"Do it," Pietro instructed before exiting the jet "Also, leave this place and wait near the research base,"

As he stepped out, he came face to face with the red man—Vision. Without hesitation, Pietro placed a hand on Vision's shoulder. "Take care of my sister for me."

Vision looked puzzled, as if trying to understand the weight of Pietro's words, sensing that they carried a deeper meaning, almost like a final request from someone who knew their fate was sealed.

...

Sokovia,

All of the Avengers, including Pietro, began evacuating the town as quickly as possible.

"I'll handle Ultron. Focus on getting the civilians out," Iron Man said, receiving a signal from the church before jetting off toward the source.

Pietro, moving faster than the others could blink, darted from one person to the next. He carried two people at a time on his shoulders, sometimes one if they required more delicate care. There was no time for conversation—he simply picked them up and transported them to safety.

He worked tirelessly, single-handedly evacuating more people than the rest of the team combined. In an hour, most of the few thousand civilians had been saved, thanks to his relentless pace.

"I've evacuated everyone," Pietro said, leaning against a wall, breathless but still standing. "I'll take a quick breather."

The Avengers were shocked by his efficiency. The evacuation had been a success in record time.

"[Wow, kid. Nice work,]" Iron Man's voice crackled over the comms as he entered the church.

"Come to confess your sins, Father?" Ultron sneered, stepping from the shadows behind him.

"I'm touched," Iron Man mocked, turning to face him. "My son's finally calling me 'Father.' Have you been juicing? Little Vibranium cocktail? You're looking, I don't know… puffy."

"You're stalling to protect the people," Ultron said, his eyes narrowing.

"Too late for that." Iron Man smirked. "They don't need protection anymore. Pietro's already evacuated everyone."

"That damn speedster…" Ultron muttered in frustration, his mechanical fingers twitching. Without warning, he extended his hand, each fingertip glowing ominously before firing a barrage of lasers.

"Hey! Language!" Iron Man quipped, just before one of the lasers struck him directly in the chest. The impact sent him flying backward, crashing into a wall with a loud thud, his armor sparking on impact.

With Iron Man temporarily out of the way, Ultron's gaze darkened. He turned toward the console at the center of the church, slamming his hand down on the control panel with a force that rattled the floor.

The ground beneath the city shuddered as the vibrations from the panel echoed outward. Ultron's eyes gleamed with satisfaction as the machinery deep below whirred to life, causing the city to rise further into the sky. The whine of gears and hydraulics filled the air as hidden compartments opened, releasing swarms of robots from the earth below.

"It's time," Ultron said to himself, watching the chaos he had unleashed.

As Ultron activated his machine, the city lifted further into the sky. Just as the chaos intensified, Vision materialized behind Ultron, placing his hand on Ultron's head, severing him from his connection to the global network.

Meanwhile, back at the research base, Banner had just saved Wanda from a few attacking robots, smashing them to pieces. Suddenly, a voice came over the speakers.

"Natasha Romanoff and Bruce Banner, as decreed by my lord, remain where you are," Gaia said. "You'll only be a liability if you try to help. There's no need for your assistance."

A holographic screen flickered to life, showing footage of the Avengers battling swarms of Ultron's bots on the now-floating city.

Before they could react, a blur of motion—Pietro—streaked across the screens, dismantling hundreds of robots in seconds.

"Stay put or call S.H.I.E.L.D.," Gaia added before cutting off the transmission.
