Capítulo 32: Who is the Director?
I didn't waste any seconds this time. I started. I contacted Susanae and asked her to meet me. She gave me the address, she said we should meet there because it's her favorite place, and she feels more comfortable there. I agreed with her without hesitation and went straight to the place.
When I got there, someone immediately greeted me and led me to a private room, and I met Susanae there waiting while eating a strawberry cake.
I greeted her with a tight smile, and she gave me a broad smile. I immediately sat down next to her before I could even speak, she was already putting something on the table.
"This is all the evidence that you've gathered. I've also mixed the evidence I have with it, it will be enough to prove my mom's innocence and punish Nadia."
I frowned because I still didn't have evidence in my hand - Wait!
"Who gave you all of those?"
There was a trace of surprise on Susanae's face because of my question, but she didn't hesitate to answer. "Someone gave it to me, a man, also handsome. I was told that you were giving it to me. I didn't ask what, why, and who he was, because he suddenly left. Right after that you called me and wanted to meet me."
Right, Antonio. It must be him.
It felt like something blocked my throat when I realized this, but I tried to regain my composure.
I took a sip of the coffee and coughed because of its taste.
"You obviously don't like coffee, huh," Susanae said, laughing, so I cleared my throat and looked at the papers on the table.
As I was digging through the papers, I saw something that caught my attention.
"The Director of Adair University and Nadia's father are allies."
"Nadia's father is the Director's puppy. The only thing that surprises me is that they act and move differently. I'm sure they have their own bad smells that they don't want to reveal to each other." She smirked while taking a sip of her coffee.
It intrigued me more.
"Do you know any information about the Director's family?"
Nadia frowned and seemed to be worried about something. "As far as I know that family was also involved in the accident, but they also tried to bury it as if it was nothing. If I could still remember it correctly, a life was lost. It was not shown in the media so as not to damage the image of their family."
"If it wasn't released to the media, how did you know about it?"
"Nadia did something stupid to my mom, so I was planning to report it then, but I didn't think I would hear the conversation between her and the Director. I was already there, so I ended up listening." She proudly replied.
I just nodded.
What accident is this? Has a life been lost?
"So, what accident was it, and who was involved?"
Susanne shook her head. "I don't know who died but from what I heard; Lara was the one who crashed."
"Lara? Crashed?" How could Lara get involved in this?
How are they related to Wait? What? Don't tell me...
I can't stop shaking. I swallowed and tried to remain calm and not let my emotions take over me.
"Lara was driving the car, and she hit someone. I don't know the rest of the information and I don't intend to find out, it won't help my case in finding justice for my mom. So, I let it go."
I nodded and let our conversation end there. I bid goodbye and left as soon as possible, trying not to get a grip on all the information I heard.
A car accident?
I couldn't stop being curious, so I immediately called Uncle Luis to get answers to the questions I couldn't get out of my mind.
Uncle Luis gave me an address he knew, so I immediately went there.
"How long has it been since the last time we saw each other?" Uncle greeted me with a smile, spreading his arms and welcoming me for a hug. So I also approached him and greeted him with a smile.
He invited me to sit on the sofa in front of him and offered me coffee, but I refused and said that I had already had coffee somewhere.
"I didn't know you also run a coffee shop, Uncle." I started the conversation.
"Ohhhh, this is my wife's wish, I just granted it."
"Where is she?" I curiously asked, since I had never seen him before.
"She is my guardian angel now." the big smile on his lips could not be erased.
"Sorry to hear that," I said, but he just laughed.
"So, what brought you here?" he asked.
"The moment I moved to my new place, someone followed me, and I tried to catch him, but I unfortunately couldn't. All I have is this." I handed him the card that I had found before.
He took a good look at it and sighed.
"Why? What is it?" I asked.
"This is a professor's card stating that you are one of the precious people of the Director."
"Do you know which professors have it?"
"As far as I know, there are only two people who have it. One is Vincent Salazar..."
"And the other one?" I can't stop myself from asking.
"As far as I know, he's dead."
"Why?"
"Killed."
It brought shivers down my spine. I'm so sure it is one of the dirty plays of the family. They must have been burying people alive. People who know something.
"Do you know who the director is? May I see him?"
He handed me a photo, and it took me a lot of courage to even look at it. I could not even blink at the photo I am looking at right now, and it confirms everything.
"You've done enough, Canim and Lara. Now let me finish your game."
