Capítulo 28: What's this that you've been hiding Nadia.
I am not a mall person, but here I am lurking around the mall like a lost soul. I didn't bring Alex because, for all I know, the day will be more tiresome than boring with him. He's got a lot of energy every day, as if there's no drain day for him. Not even Lara, because her party is the reason why I am here.
I haven't received an invitation though, but I am sure she'll invite me soon. What if she doesn't? Why would she not think? I am her friend. Should I just self-invite myself? Ugh! It made the day more draining than it already was.
I saw an eye-catching boutique and immediately went inside to see the different dresses they had while I was in it. I heard a familiar voice, so I hid in the clothes and peeped.
"Leave, at once." The young lady she was facing said firmly. I think she must be the manager. I couldn't see her face because I was behind her and the distance between us was so small that I could hear their conversation.
Nadia then leaned closer to her. She really loves intimidating people around her.
"Don't you remember how the life of your beloved ended in this young lady's power?" with a teasing tone, she smirked at the girl.
"Oh, I remember it so well. I remember how you killed my mother with those delicate hands of yours." I could feel the tremor in the voice of the woman speaking.
"It's not my fault how slutty your mom is. I mean, why would she date my dad? Look at you, poor thing. You can't even tell my dad what has happened to your mom, all he knew is that she ran with some random guy." Nadia chuckled.
I saw the woman clench her fist. "Wait until I gather enough evidence sweetheart, I promise it won't take long."
"As if he'll believe you." Nadia rolled her eyes before leaving the boutique and I came out of my hiding place and cleared my throat.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop-"
"I know you've been there all along, and maybe that proves how stupid Nadia is not to notice you," she said apathetically, which left me speechless.
"Kaesu, right?" she asked while arranging the hanged clothes.
"How did you know my name?"
"An enemy's enemy is an ally." she shortly replied, not even throwing a glance at me.

"You've heard everything, I revealed it to you in case you need it. You won't be here buttling into other people's business if you don't need anything from her. You didn't side with her when we were talking, you hid instead, which means you're going against her too." she continued.
Wow, I can't help but be amazed by this woman. I didn't show how amazed I was, or I didn't know what she would think. She might think I'm too easy.
"You didn't answer my question," I said in a cold voice.
She chuckled and faced me. "Oh dear, you seemed to be the best candidate who loves provoking Nadia and is not yet dead as of the moment."
"Well, I guess bad grass does not die easily."
Finally, I saw her laugh.
"But I can help you. I can get you the evidence needed to knock Nadia down."
She lost her smile and spoke.
"You don't know the whole story yet."
"Then tell me." I challenged her.
"You don't even know me yet."
"Then tell me..." I smiled slyly.
She looked around and took me to the back of the boutique. I was amazed because it's so beautiful, it's like a house after all, but it's very cozy to be an office.
"Call me Susanae."
She locked the door, made me sit on her couch and offered me something to drink, but I refused.
"Her father fell in love with my mom, she was just a simple modiste in the town, she loved her passion very much and Nadia's father supported her. That's why we have a boutique inside the mall now. He knows that she had a daughter too, which is me. When we were invited to live in their house, Nadia didn't treat us well. Mom and I thought that Nadia was just adapting and maybe soon she would get used to it."
So, after all, they are half-siblings with Nadia.
"Nadia tried everything to get us kicked out. I tried to defend Mom, but Nadia is still more important when it comes to my stepdad. I forced Mom to leave but her love for Tito Vincent, who is Nadia's father, prevailed more, and I didn't think that love would end her life." she continued while holding back her anger and tears. I wanted to sympathize with her, but her aura seemed to say 'don't', so I kept quiet and listened. I knew that would be more helpful.
She looked me straight in the eye and the anger and hatred she felt penetrated me as she told her story. "I tried all the ways to get justice for my mom but all that didn't work. I need someone like you."
"Why me? Why does everyone think I'm the only solution? I almost died at Nadia's hands."
"Which makes you the perfect candidate. You didn't die. You will not die because you're blessed enough to have someone by your side to be there with you and protect you in any situation."
"You mean Alex and Lara?"
She stood up, turned her back on me, and took something from her table.
"Look around you, Kaesu. This someone is willing to die for you. This someone is willing to stand by your side through ups and downs, and I'm kind of impressed. You should keep him."
Susanae and I ended our conversation, but I was still confused about who she was referring to. I was stupidly walking on the road when I almost got run over again. Luckily, someone pulled me to the side.
"Don't you know how to be careful?" Canim's angry face greeted me and, at that point, I understood everything.
"You! She meant... you."
"What?"
"Yes, you! It's you." I couldn't help myself when I realized who Susanae was talking about.
