Capítulo 21: Chapter 21

Sir Kingsley had been waiting for them while occupying himself with a book that he suddenly finds interesting. His glasses slipped on his nose and he fixed it while continuing reading the book, finding peace within the beauty of the story. To be honest, his book of choice is unusual for someone like him, but as they say, don't judge the book by its cover. He chose to read a book about how women's minds work but not because he has any interest in one of them but because he wants to understand why they always choose looks and money before personality and the goodness of men. Not to be misjudged, he does not think all women are like that but women like Mrs. Vivian are, and he wants to understand it better because as much as he likes embarrassing them with disgust and hatred for them, he wants to ignore it and keep them away as far away as possible. So he reads to know the secret of being avoided by thirsty women.

But much to his avail, he hasn't found yet the answer to his problem. His eyes kept scanning the words, reading silently but fast with his quick mind.

When really, there is no solution for that unless he is the likes of perverts, maniac, molester, an insane person, or a pedophile, he can't really find a solution to his problem. Oh, unless he's ugly too. He's a very attractive man and a very intelligent one too, even with his high pride and attitude, women like Mrs. Vivian likes him. In fact, even women who do not like to flirt or seduce men like him. But to lessen his worries of course not every woman on this planet likes him or wants him, they will very much find him attractive, unless they're some judging shit, but they will not flirt with him or seduce him.

Even the way he looks now while reading the book is indeed tempting. His brows are scrunched deeply into his forehead almost too deep to reach the nose, his eyes are focused on each word that he reads, his lips are in between his teeth, his muscles on his biceps flexing as he turns the page and finds a more comfortable place, trying to keep his patience in. His whole body, obviously, so captivating and his whole face features catch women's attention even men's. There is no doubt or to question as to why they find him attractive. Bonus points because of his intelligence.

He sighed and slammed the book down on the table which caused heads to turn to him but when they notice his gloomy and dark expression, they turned back into what they're doing in fear, avoiding to look at him anymore.

He finally realized that there are no answers to his worries. He hated that he wasted his time, reading the book when he was supposed to be finding the books that he really needed to read. He hated that he found no answers and he is left with two choices to do; embarrass them or ignore them.

He also hated that, the reason why he was in here in the first place because the students who are ordered to find the books and give them to him were nowhere to be found. Well, not exactly, because he requested that to be brought to his office by the end of the day but he wanted to make sure that they were really doing what they're told. Much to their luck, they're not in the library and Sir Kingsley is frustrated.

He had asked who of those students who are inside the library are ordered to find him the books and no one answered, it isn't the smartest to do but it was the easiest for him because he was nice to the grumpy old lady, he had availed the public address microphone that blasted softly around the library so it would only disturb them but not startle them. The lady asked them and to show themselves near the entrance but no one did.

And now because of their lack of responsibility, discipline, and because of their tardiness, he is grumpier than usual but now he was frustrated because of being boiled up from keeping his patience in and reading the book, wasting his precious time. It's his fault but that doesn't mean that he's going to let those students get away with their wrongdoings.

He stood up from his seat and walked around to look for a book that can only be found inside the teacher's area. When he finally found it, the students who were asked, finally arrived and he looked at them with a raised brow.

His eyes went big for a second when he saw who one of them was, remembering their interesting conversation and his body's reaction but he quickly sent them daggers with his brown orbs. He suddenly has the patience to have patience and in control when disciplining them.

The two students have their heads bowed to him in guilt and in respect.

"Where have you been?" He asked, calmly while skimming through the pages of the book that he has in his hand. He stopped and looked up at them, their eyes meet and he saw her sighed heavily while looking away. He just returned his eyes to the book while waiting for her to speak first.

"S-sir, we apologize for being late, we, of course, have no excuses to make." Layla speaks, confidently but couldn't help but stutter at first.

Sir Kingsley closed the book and handed it to them. They looked at the book and without any question, the other one who is unfamiliar to Sir Kingsley, which he assumes is her classmate, holds the book after noticing that it's the first on the list that their homeroom teacher gave.

"So, we have met again and yet you continue to disappoint me. For this time, you have brought your classmate who shares the same irresponsibility as you." Sir Kingsley pointed out and Layla looked at him even if her eyes are sending sharp daggers back to him and he smirked.

"Sir, if you hadn't heard us, we apologize for it and we aren't going to make any excus-" Before Layla could finish her sentence Liv cuts her off with rosy, embarrassed cheeks, and without looking at his eyes because she is obviously terrified of him and only Layla has the courage and hate to look him in the eyes but with great distance in between them and not as close as when she could felt his body heat radiating off his body.

"A-actually, s-sir, it is my fault. Y-you see how small Layla is right? A-and I'm taller than her, also with the advantage of I am a sporty person, I-I used that and dragged her everywhere I-I want to go. I am the one to blame so please, don't be angry at her. She's been through a lot and s-she's tired." Liv explained while stuttering the whole time.

Layla gasped and felt her cheeks flushing, glancing back at Liv who just gave her an apologetic smile for telling too much information about her and just shrugged. Sir Kingsley's smirk left off his face and his brow raised again while looking at Layla. Well, in fact, Layla really is small and he could see their differences but that doesn't mean anything as he likes testing them.

"Hmm...is that so, Layla? And even with the power that you have, you let her do whatever she wants with you."

"S-sir-" Liv tried to speak but she was cut off by Sir Kingsley's powerful voice while he moves closer to them.

"It's not my fault that you have obligations and you can't handle them. It's not my fault that you have been through a lot and you're tired. But it is your fault that you can't be responsible and you continue to disappoint me. I was thinking of you as a different person and now I see that I'm wrong about you. Keep your private life and student life separated or else you'll continue to disappoint. Now let's go and find those books. You'll find the books that I needed in the student's area while I find the book that I need here. Come back here and give me those books within an hour."

Before either of them can process what the man has said, he had already turned away and walked away from them while his eyes scan for the other books that he needed but his mind is somewhere else.

Why did he felt guilty when he said those words? Like he is pressuring her too much even if he's aware of Layla's guardian's recent death. He avoided looking into her eyes so he walked away before she can speak. It's not like he wanted to hurt her intentionally but he wanted to remind her of who she is and about her obligations. She needed to be reminded of the fact that she is stronger than she thinks she is and more powerful than she thinks she is. He needs to put her under pressure so she can use her intelligence and practice more and more to be who she really is. He wanted her to use her intelligence against him and against other people who think they have more power and are smarter than she is. As harsh as that sounds, he really has a point because his words went like a huge slap on her face and her whole face paled.
