I got up early, I had a journey to make today, I sat at the edge of the bed with my head in my hands, Cyril was fast asleep on the bed behind me but I couldn't think about that.

He had been strongly against my going to the war front, saying I could only go if he came along.

That wasn't happening…

Even if I had to sneak around to leave which I was technically already doing but that was all semantics.

I didn't like that our last conversation was an argument but there was nothing I could do to fix that, I would just have to come back alive.

My dad had sent countless Magic Mails, I had been avoiding giving my report but there was no way I was telling them that the Imperial had lost her powers, utter chaos would ensue because there was no other way to defeat the Beast.
