I stared at Carmen, trying to process her sudden suggestion. "Let's live together." The words hung in the air, almost surreal. I was shocked, not just by her unexpected proposal but also by the fact that she had somehow gotten into Tyron's apartment without any of us noticing. 

"How did you get in here?" I asked, my voice a mix of confusion and curiosity. 

Carmen's eyes met mine, her gaze steady and unwavering. "I have my ways," she said cryptically, her tone dismissive. It was clear she wasn't going to elaborate, and I wasn't sure I wanted to press her on it. 

"Living together?" I repeated, still trying to wrap my head around the idea. It felt sudden, almost too intimate for a relationship that was supposed to be purely contractual. "Why should we live together?"
