The morning sun filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room as I slowly opened my eyes. I stretched, feeling surprisingly refreshed despite the whirlwind of emotions and events from the previous day.

I swung my legs over the side of the bed and stood up, savoring the coolness of the floor against my bare feet. Heading to the bathroom, I turned on the shower, the steam filling the room almost instantly.
