15.58% SAMARA AND THE DEVIL CEO / Chapter 11: Bittersweet memories 3

Capítulo 11: Bittersweet memories 3

Samara picked up the next item and her smile widened. It was the fairy doll. Both she and her brother had told their father to get it for her, and he did without any hesitance.

She remembered that she would always take it with her to school then get scolded by the teacher for bringing items to distract herself and other students.

Thinking about school, her smile lowered and her expression turned to one of sadness. Something unimaginable had happened in her eleventh grade. Thinking about it now brought chills. She had trusted so blindly and it had an effect on her.

Not thinking much about it, she shook her head. She was now a final year student at college. Everything would definitely fall into place. She just needed a little more time.

Looking at her reflection in the mirror, she smiled. "This was the reason I never wanted to open this box. Now cheer up you idiot!" She said to herself which made her chuckle.

Closing back the box, she placed it beside her bed. It was when she went towards her study table did she hear her name being called.

"What is it now?" She murmured to herself, looking towards the direction of the door.

Stomping her feet lightly on the floor, she moved out of the room and a paper fell from her study table to the floor.

....

Samara found her mother in the living room. The proud aura around her, making one wary of her.

"You called for me mother." Samara stated, looking at her mother who had not raised her head to look at her.

Taking her own sweet time, Devi finally looked up at her daughter who was still standing. She stared at her making Samara nervous. Sweat already forming on her palms.

"Sit." She ordered and Samara wondered if her mother knew about her plans. With the way she had been keeping an eye on her she only hoped her mother had not found out about it.

But again, who could hide anything from her? She asked herself internally which she found amusing and a smile broke on her beautiful face.

"What's so amusing?" Devi asked, jolting Samara back to reality.

"It's n-nothing mother." She said shaking her head.

Devi only stared at her before she spoke. "I hope you're not planning on escaping, which I doubt you will. I've made the security tight for a few more days before your engagement so it shouldn't be a problem." Devi stated and Samara's face went pale.

She should have known! Nothing could be hidden from her mother's hawk eyes.

"I would never mother." She said, her throat choking on the tears she held back.

"Good. The maids will go with you. Your face needs to be perfect. I've hired someone to take care of that." She said and left the living room. While it took some time for Samara to process what she had just heard.

How would she escape. The night guards would notice her before she even steps out of the gates. If she gets caught, it would only make things worse.

Sighing, the maids walked up to hern to walk her to her room. Once she gets to her room to get the facials done, there's no saying she would have time to execute her plan before sunset.

.....

"Brown. I want you to reschedule my meeting with Mr Yu." He said with gritted teeth. Brown who didn't think it was a good idea chose not to speak.

"Have you gone deaf?" Arijit asked.

"No sir. I mean I'll ask the secretary do that." He said and Arijit hummed in approval.

"Mr Mehra would be of good use to me." Arijit said. "Yes boss!" Brown replied.

Stepping out of the elevator. Arijit saw his secretary walking towards him. His expression gave nothing, making his employees wary of him.

"Good day sir!" His secretary said.

"I thought I made it clear not to take anything more to my desk? Hmm Vera?" He said in a calm voice but only he knew the turmoil inside of him.

"It's the list of people who had applied for jobs to work here. I thought it would be good to have it on your desk before tomorrow. Pardon me." She said bowing her head slightly.

"Take it up to my office. You can ask Jason to take the ones at the top to my car. I'll look at them when I get home." He instructed and he saw her nod.

Quietly sighing, he went out of the office to where his car was parked. Two other guards had joined Brown walking behind him.

"Boss looks angry. Any problem Brown?" The man named Adam asked.

"Shut up!" Brown said in a low voice.

"I was only concerned though." Adam mumbled.

"Keep it to yourself!" He said and they didn't say another word as they walked behind their boss. They were very well aware that he had heard their conversation but chose not to comment in it. He was used to their bickering all day, and he didn't mind but that didn't mean they'll take it for granted.

They had learnt to respect him. He was their boss after all.

They reached his parked SUV and they all got in. With Arijit sitting at the backseat and his driver and guard at the front seat. They had picked that seating arrangement for security reasons.

"The bar." Arijit simply said and the driver nodded.

He didn't need to ask as he knew his boss's favourite bar. He started the car and they started to move. The car was engulfed in silence like every other day. They had been so used to the silence that it didn't feel awkward like the first time.

Taking a turn to the right, the driver swerved the car to the other side as a car was speeding towards their direction.

It was a short notice and the car at the other end managed to hit Arijit's car, making the driver lose balance, hitting the tree close to a leisure park.

Thankfully, none of them were hurt. Brown checked to see if his boss was hurt and it turned out that he had zero injuries, although they needed to go to the hospital to check if he sustained internal injuries.

One of the guard stepped out of the car to see if he could get those assassins.

He came back to the car as they had escaped. "Seems like they wanted to do more. Let's go to the hospital." Arijit said and the driver nodded.

Even after keeping it lowkey, he was still being followed, he was thankful that they hadn't come when he was with his sister.

They drove towards the city hospital because it was the nearest. Arijit stepped out of his car and he caught sight of someone who he hated the most.
