I found several of the most sturdy and sharpest knives I could then tied them onto me. Two stuffed in my boots, two strapped to my back. Two on my arms. Two in my hands. And several more in a tub that I was carrying out to give to others.
I exited the kitchen to see a mass of panicked peopled running all over. Idiots. I retreated away from them. I did not want to be caught up in that mess. I slunk into a shadow at the edge of a building.
Strangely enough all the years of avoiding people and hiding in shadows from the ladies was starting to pay off with my real life assassin skills. Was the game skills also affecting my real life dodging ability? Was that even possible?
I shook my head. No I'm over thinking things.

I climbed up to a roof in the compound. Much safer, I relaxed my shoulders. From humans not the dogs, why would I be worried about the mechanical dogs touching me? Well except for maybe their claws slicing me open. But trust me women are way more scary.

A loud barking noise could be heard and I turned my head in that direction. The next second my jaw dropped. It was huge. In game dog beasts are about the size of an avatar in height. This doggie was a two story building. I could see its head along with four other 'dogs' making their way toward the city's wall.
With the car incident most cities had built strong stone walls then tossed all active cars out with cranes. Within cities were now a bunch of mini sub-cities.
The wall was unlikely to stop these….. things. I gulped half in terror half in excitement. A real live dog beast! It was sooooo cool! And also soooo bad, but sooo cool!
I marveled at the work of art as it moved toward the wall. Did I have to destroy something so beautiful?
The dog opened its mouth and a wall of flame spat out of it lighting up a nearby gas station with a boom!
"Bad doggie." I muttered. "You need an electric collar."
Would this new thing even have the same weak points? I gulped. They didn't spew flames in game. What other changes were made. But gosh darn it! it looked so freakin cool as a hound of death!
It was at the wall now and it split off from the other hounds. Two came toward this wall while the others headed to different ones. I looked at its build, iron maybe steel? The wiring for it was enclosed in black tubes same as the game structure.
Its back had a small opening with the black tube visible. A weak spot. What about its feet? I looked for the back of the knee weak point but it looked better guarded than in game. So a no longer weak, weak spot then.
At least there were only five of these dogs. Ah who am I kidding this sounds like fun! But in reality I could die. Eh I'm not scared of dying only dying without living! Oh right do people who die in game actually die? I forgot to ask when we got out. I'll have to remember that for later.
The dog leapt over the wall with ease as the timer reached zero. Talk about well trained by the AI.
"Here puppy, puppy" I called out smirking to myself.
It started to destroy everything in its path. Large metal jaws clamped down on a nearby building. It shook the building like it was a toy until it crumbled into dust. Then the dog focused its eyes on the next building, which also happened to be my building.
Two figures came at it from the sides one whacking at the dog with a metal pole. It looked very ineffective. The other was trying to get at its weaker heels with a hammer. It also looked quite ineffective.
As the dog moved closer again I was able to see their faces more clearly. Deck and Blank of SnowLeopards. Eh Deck was my friend, I suppose I better help out. I waited until the dog was level with my building then jumped onto its back. Hey same wolf strategy don't judge me it's very effective!
I almost immediately slid off. But I managed to grab onto a piece of the metal and stop my sliding. I'll take the in game wolf over this dog. It was a lot easier to walk on. I scrambled across it to the back of the neck and found the cord.
"What the heck is this made of!" I yelped trying to saw it apart. The black tubing was some sort of hard rubbery plastic. I needed something with better edges. I thought over each of my knives. None of them were right for this, darn it!
The dog leaped up onto the building where I had been and I gripped the cord to keep from falling. Going from two stories in the air to four in a few seconds is not very fun. Usually I'm not scared of heights but maybe I'll make an exception to that rule.
The dog leaned its head down and started chomping on part of the roof. The sudden movement caught me off guard and I was dangling from the cord on its neck.
Okay back to breaking it. Otherwise I really will fall to my death. I wrapped my legs around the cord and started whacking at it with my knife again.
Good lords just break already! I watched the slightly growing crack on the tube widen slowly. I gritted my teeth as the dog beast continued its rampage. Then the tube finally slit open revealing my prize of wires.
Please let the AI have kept the wiring the same. The dog leapt back up onto the wall ready to pounce onto an even higher building.
"Oh no you don't!" I growled as my knife slit through all the wires. It yelped in pain then its eyes went dead. Then the entire beast fell sideways crashing into the dirt below. I saw Deck and Blank running towards it and me.
Then there was a rumbling and the ground below the dog opened up sending us plummeting downward. I saw Deck and Blank try to backup to stable ground but they were also swallowed up with me and the dead dog beast.
I gasped as the ground kept vanishing. What kind of sink hole was this? This wasn't a sinkhole it was a pit of doom! I broke loose from the dog beast and tumbled into my own free fall. The darkness formed around me as the light from the entrance grew smaller and smaller. I was sooooo very dead. I didn't want to think about how potentially deep this was.
Then an incline? I crashed into the side of it and started tumbling down it. Ouch, ouch, ouch. Oh I was going to be covered in bruises from this. I finally rolled to a stop at the bottom of whatever version of a slide that classified as. Everything hurt but nothing seemed broken. Ha should I call it a miracle or a curse?
I heard two other screams as I assume Deck and Blank landed. Then some rocks started cascading downward. Shoot they were headed right for me. I dodged to the left to avoid a large one but a smaller one smacked my head and darkness swam across my vision.
...…
"Royal!"
"Oye Royal! Where are you?"
I groaned opening my eyes. I was half covered in rocks. Ouch. I flicked a few away with an arm. Thankfully they were small and hadn't killed me. Heck I still think I didn't have any broken bones.
The underground area we were in was very dark now that the sun wasn't directly over it. I saw a small light moving around the room. It bobbed up and down as I saw two figures using it to search the area.
It turned and I saw Blank coming closer with a fire resting in his palm. Wait wasn't he normally a warrior? Had he changed classes? Not important. I groaned pushing myself up into a sitting position. My head hurt. I lifted a hand up it was probably bleeding.
"Royal!" he yelped seeing me with a few pebbles covering me. He immediately came over and squatted down reaching out toward me. I yelped and pushed myself backward by a foot.
"Hey don't touch me!" I growled I continued backing away until my back was against the wall.
