Capítulo 32: Petaldream Chamber of Commerce
Blanc quickly walked towards the newly created town hall.
Adelaine was curious about this visitor so she tagged along to take a look.
After a few minutes of walking, they finally reached the town hall.
Blanc opened the door.
Inside, the visitor is currently sitting at the center table drinking tea.
The little ones which were members of the cooking team did a good job at receiving the visitors.
The man who seemed to be the leader of this group of visitors was sincerely enjoying the tea that was made from tea leaves cultivated in the village farm.
After seeing Blanc enter the hall, the man put the tea down and said
"Ahh you must be the village chief! Please pardon my intrusion."
"My name is Jason Stadtfeld and I am a team manager working for Petaldream chamber of commerce and our branch is located inside the Kingdom of Terravalle. Pleased to make your acquaintance"
The man, Jason Stadtfeld, introduced himself.
"Ahh sir Jason, I'm Blanc Rougenfort, the village chief of resonance village. Pleased to make your acquaintance."
"I apologize for asking straight to the point but, what is a man of your stature looking for in our backwater remote village?"
Blanc introduced himself and asked the man directly.
He had read about different famous chambers of commerce before and this Petaldream chamber of commerce is not a small company.
They have hundreds of branches over different fiefdoms and kingdoms, so he was curious what their goal was in approaching their village.
The man chuckled at Blanc's straightforwardness and said
"I see that the village chief is a straightforward person. In that case, to prove my sincerity, I'll also state our motives in approaching your village."
"You see, we heard rumors about tier 6 and tier 7 rare herbs appearing inside Lockridge city. Apparently, a woman in her early 20s was the one who supplied those rare herbs to a certain chamber of commerce in Lockridge city."
"Us, being a chamber of commerce, also wants to earn a huge amount of money. So we investigated the matter and found out that the woman left through Lockridge city's east gate."
"We knew there was nothing around that area so we looked beyond and sent men to investigate around the Dukedom of Dumont but they found nothing."
"We took a chance and tried to explore the gloomy plains in hopes of finding the mysterious woman's base of operations until we found your village."
Blanc kept a straight face however a variety of emotions were churning inside him.
The man seemed to be talking about Helena!
Earlier in the year, she left for her first settler recruitment mission and sold a variety of rare herbs in exchange for silver coins that they can use to expand the village.
The intelligence network of these big chambers of commerce is too terrifying!
"I see. Unfortunately, we also have no idea about that certain mysterious woman's whereabouts. As you can see, we are just a small village and the only things that we have here are our crops, fishes, and livestock. If sir Jason is interested in striking a deal with us regarding our mentioned products, it would be our honor."
Although Jason seemed to be a sincere and honest man, Blanc couldn't just admit everything as it concerns the safety of his villagers.
If this Jason turns out to be a bad person, then their village will be in danger.
After hearing Blanc's reply, Jason smiled.
"I see that the village chief still does not trust me. I completely understand your decision though as it involves the safety of your whole village."
"However, you do not have to worry. We do not mean any harm and the chairman of our branch even reminded us to exercise utmost professionalism and discipline when dealing with this matter."
"Village chief, it might be hard for you to trust us, but I assure you that our only goal here is to earn money. We promise to not pry into the secrets of your village."
"We, the Petaldream chamber of commerce sincerely wishes to be your business partner. Please reconsider."
Jason bowed sincerely after relaying his sincerity to be a business partner of resonance village.
If the village chief still didn't trust him after everything that he said, then it couldn't be helped.
He will just try again after another few months.
"Haaaahhhh.."
Blanc sighed after hearing Jason's sincerity, he couldn't keep turning the man down after that. Besides, if Jason turns out to be an honest merchant, then it would be a huge boon to their village.
He decided to take a risk and bet on his character judgement. This Jason seems to be a sincere and honest man.
"It was indeed us who sold those rare herbs. I will make it clear right now, we will never divulge where we are getting our supplies. If you are fine with striking a deal given those conditions, then it would be our honor."
"That's perfectly fine with us! Thank you for trusting us chief! We will make sure to cherish your decision in trusting our chamber of commerce!"
Jason happily bowed again after successfully accomplishing the task given to him by the chairman.
This might be his chance to be promoted!
"Well then, let me introduce to you this woman over here."
"Her name is Adelaine and she will be the one to discuss the specifics of the deal with you."
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I have other things to attend to. Please make yourselves at home while you are staying in the village."
Blanc slightly bowed and left the town hall, leaving Adelaine and Jason to talk about the business deal.
