"Return and apologize to him," his voice was loud enough to gain the attention of every table this time. She scanned their haughty and snickering looks mocking her.
A braver woman would have refused and a prouder woman would have been humiliated but she was none. So she turned to do what her father wanted. She did not need to walk away as Harold was only standing behind her. This man had no shame.
She gritted her teeth as she bowed her head.
"I apologize for my wrong footing, my lord. I have not been feeling well tonight." she responded in a dry tone. Harold's eyes narrowing. He had thought Hazel was a handful but the youngest one was more of a challenge.
