The next day, I went to the meeting room early. As a Beta, I had to ensure everything was perfect and the meeting could start the moment the Alpha King and Luna King arrived.

From what Ari told me yesterday, only Lillian and the Elder wizard would be present, other than Max, Ari, Jaxon, Dad, and me.

As I was putting the relevant files on the table in front of each seat, I heard the door being opened, and I turned around to see Jaxon entering.

He still looked a bit pale, and as much as I had told myself to get over him, my heart still ached for him.

“Good morning, Beta Jaxon,” I greeted him with a polite smile.

It was impossible for us to go back to the way we were for now. Maybe in the future we could, but definitely not now. Not yet.

He rushed toward me and enveloped me with his body.

My heart trembled, and my defenses nearly crumbled as my arms started to circle around his body.
