Capítulo 2: Books

When he entered, he was floating in dark space... except it wasn't exactly dark as he could still see himself, and he wasn't floating as he could feel a tangible floor beneath him. It wasn't dark, just pure black.

A cold, robotic female voice sounded from above him which stated, "Transmigration in process... Waiting."

He looked up but still couldn't see anything, so he observed his surroundings one last time before sitting down. He looked at his three books, and took out one titled, "The History of 'Hetrae'".

He felt that something was wrong, but he scratched his head and opened the book to start reading.

Hetrae was a world that usually didn't have wars, as almost everyone was on the same side. Humanity in this plane started in the south, and they developed there without exploring the rest of the world yet. The reason why most people were under the same government was because they didn't leave to start their own country, and people who did quickly died out because of the extreme amount of creatures in far away lands. But soon, technology got to a point where they were able to travel fast and had necessary strength to start expanding the country. They developed tools based off an energy called Mana which helped in ships, vehicles, and even day to day items like stoves or lanterns. This country was under the Celestial Church who's religion was polytheistic. They prayed to many Celestial Realm beings that were at a level they could only hope to achieve.

Before he noticed, he already finished skimming through and already started another book called "Geography of 'Hetrae'".

This world had 3 continents; Aret, Ourst, and Gruend. Aret was the continent in the south where humanity had birthed. The side further south was a cold land with many mountains, and it seemed to have multiple mountains taller than Mt. Everest; In fact, the planet itself seemed to be multiple sizes larger than Earth. There were a couple mountain villages in the south where the poorer people came to escape the cities and try their luck for a harsher but more profitable life, as the mountains had many precious minerals. The northern side of Aret held more civilization and many forests which was a training ground for cultivators and hunters. Aret reached all the way down to the south pole, and had a long tail that stretched to the equator.

Ourst and Gruend were two similarly sized continents surrounding both sides of Aret. Gruend was the first to be colonized by humans, a long desert wasteland with many species of bugs, reptiles, and a lot of resources underground such as oil, salt, and better metals. These resources then supported the development of their cities, as well as the scouting of Ourst.

Ourst was a larger continent than the rest, but was less populated because of the creatures living there. A lot more species reside there, and they are much stronger of higher grades, so not many people lived here unless they were rich and strong families. It reached a cross the equator and held a decent amount of both north and south of the equator. The west held deserts, the south had plains, the north had mountains, and the east had forests.

The books had quite a bit of details so Mike was quite interested. After he looked over the map, he stared at the last book.

It was a very thin book, and the man earlier had said it was a... cultivation manual?

'Does that mean I could shoot fireballs and sh*t?' he thought excitedly.

When he opened the book, a bright light shined into his eyes, but it didn't hurt that much. When he opened his eyes and saw that the book disappeared, the same robotic female voice sounded out and said, "Transmigration registered... finished. Sending now, good luck transmigrator."

The room around him shone and became a bright white, which contrasted with the black from before, contracting his pupils. But that wasn't all, he felt something piercing his skin from all directions which gave a burning feeling.

He couldn't see or feel, and the ringing hum came back.

Then it was replaced with silence, and darkness.
