Capítulo 49: Exchange

At the abandoned building parking lot, twenty men wearing masks and fully armed patrolled the area. A man in a hardened white mask was absorbed in playing a game on his mobile phone.

A few minutes later, four cars arrived, and several goon-like figures emerged from the vehicles. Leading them was Waltair Vasu, scanning the area for his brothers. However, apart from the masked, armed men and a few SUVs, there was no sign of them.

"Sir, they have arrived," informed one of the men in a red clothed mask to the man playing the game, who was none other than Raj. The previous day, Raj had informed Vasu about the exchange place and time. He had spent the night preparing, ensuring the masks he chose wouldn't fall off during a fight. He wanted a mask that wouldn't get damaged, stay securely on his face, and conceal his eyes and voice.

While he considered the Rakshasa mask, its plain, creepy appearance didn't meet all his requirements. Most of all, he wanted comfort. The Rakshasa mask did not provide this feature. He wasn't sure if it was damageable or not and didn't want to risk it, as it was not cheap.

So, he searched for an alternative in the system store. As he was searching, he found the perfect mask: the Asura Mask. As he read the description, he knew it was exactly what he needed:

Asura Mask: Does not easily get damaged, Made with one of the hardest metals, Can change form as the user likes, Can change voice.

Raj was intrigued by the Asura Mask's features, especially its ability to change form as he wished. The best part was that it only cost him 10 destiny points. There were other masks with different features, but they were more expensive. So, he decided to purchase the Asura Mask.

He also pulled the Rakshasa mask from his inventory and compared both masks. Although he appreciated the features of the Asura Mask, he found himself more drawn to the Rakshasa mask due to its unique characteristics. As he touched both masks, a notification rang in his mind.

"Found system items which can be merged. Do you want to merge them? It will cost 10 destiny points."

Raj was surprised. He contemplated for a moment, considering that the combined cost of the masks and the merging fee would be quite high. However, the convenience and enhanced features of a merged mask were too tempting to ignore. Finally, he decided to go ahead with the merge.

"Yes, merge them," he confirmed.

A few moments later, the masks began to glow, and within seconds, they fused into a single, superior mask, combining the best features of both. Raj now had a powerful tool that offered durability, adaptability, and enhanced functionality. It was worth every destiny point spent.

Rakshasura Mask: Ability to change one's appearance entirely. It could alter facial features, hair color, and even voice, providing a perfect disguise for any situation. Does not easily get damaged, Made with one of the hardest metals, Can change form as the user likes, Can change voice. Additional features - can change shape of person for certain extent only. Cannot make excessive changes in body shape.

Vasu, observing the professional demeanor of Kali's men, remarked to his own crew, "Look at them, they're professionals. And look at yourselves—you all look like third-rate movie villains. We need to up our game."

This time he did not bring Daya with him, due to his past experience. Turning his attention back to the masked men in front of him, he shouted, "Hey, where are my brothers?"

In response to his loud demand, a man in a white mask and a suit stepped forward from among the armed men. His mask was intimidating, and his aura and demeanor exuded authority and menace. He said, "Where is the money?"

Recognizing this man as Kali, Vasu instructed his men to bring out the small truck filled with cash. Knowing that such a large amount couldn't be carried in cars, they had arranged for the truck. Vasu tossed the keys to one of Kali's men. Catching the keys, that man, along with two others, approached the truck to inspect the cash.

With an authoritative voice and a menacing demeanor, Kali said, "If even a single rupee is missing, I will come to you and collect your brother's lives as well as yours."

Hearing those words, a chill ran down Vasu's spine. At that moment, Vasu and his men felt as if they were facing a demon from hell.

Kali instructed his men to release Vasu's brothers. From the cars, Vasu's brothers emerged, blindfolded and with their hands bound. Kali's men swiftly removed their blindfolds and freed their hands.

Vasu was celebrating with his brothers and his men for their safe return. He had warned his brothers to stay low for some time. Daya was also present at Vasu's place, but he looked upset. Noticing this, Vasu said, "Brother, why are you so sad? Everyone is enjoying the party except you."

Daya replied, "You got your brothers back, but I've lost my money and my girl."

Vasu laughed and said, "I don't understand why you're so hung up on a single girl. Girls should just be playthings. Look at my brothers; they know how to handle women."

Vasu continued, "And if you really love her that much, why didn't you buy that property for yourself? Earning money back isn't difficult. Just make a fake case against some rich people, and you'll soon earn back what you lost."

Daya considered this advice. To truly win Saanvi back, he realized he didn't have many other options.

A call rang. "I want the property, and I will pay the money," Daya said to Raj. Daya knew that without that property, he had no chance with Saanvi. He had tried to explain the situation to her, but she gave him an ultimatum: if he wanted to talk to her, he had two options. First, arrest Vasu, and second, return Venkata Rao's property.

For Daya, the first option was impossible; going against Vasu was out of the question. The second option was more feasible, even though it meant losing money. He could always earn more in his profession, as he had done before. He did have a third option, to forget about Saanvi, but that was something he never considered.

After signing the property transfer papers when he received the money, Raj heard a familiar notification.

"Ding, you have received 10 destiny points for making the destiny child financially unstable."

They say money is also luck, Raj thought, reflecting on the phrase "money makes the world go round" and "fortune favors the bold." It seems true.

He looked at his status window :

Later that day, Daya took Saanvi to Venkata Rao's house. In front of her, Daya apologized to Venkata Rao and returned the property to him.

As Daya and Saanvi were leaving, Venkata Rao pulled Saanvi aside where Daya couldn't hear their conversation. "Why are you with him? Last time you were with Raj. This Daya is not a nice man. Raj did something to Daya, which is why he's giving my property back. Raj is a nice guy. You should..."

"I know, Venkaji. It's Raj's plan," Saanvi interrupted.

Daya watched them talking and smiling, thinking they were discussing something positive about him. Little did he know, Saanvi was explaining Raj's plan to Venkata Rao. She told him how Raj had manipulated Daya into returning the property, knowing that Daya's feelings for her could be used to their advantage.

Saanvi started talking to Daya in a friendly manner again. Daya was happy, thinking that the money he spent was worth it.

On the same day, after Venkata rao received the property, he called Raj regarding its sale.

In the evening, Saanvi was in Raj's embrace as they watched the sunset from a hilltop. Saanvi asked, "Raj, how long do I have to be nice to Daya?"

"You only have to do one thing for me. After that, you won't have to see Daya's face ever again," Raj replied.

Saanvi, happy at the thought of not having to deal with Daya anymore, kissed Raj on the cheek with excitement. They spent the rest of the evening together, enjoying each other's company.

------------

The next day, Saanvi and Daya entered the office. Daya was puzzled about why Saanvi had brought him there. As they walked through the corridor, they noticed a small group of people gathered around a TV, watching intently. Daya, curious, glanced at the screen.

[ Breaking News: Kerala CM Bimal Nair, previously a member of 'IUF,' has established his own political party named 'Janata Samvardhan Party' or 'JSP.' In a surprising turn of events, most members of 'IUF' have also joined 'JSP,' leaving only a few loyal to the previous CM. Additionally, there are reports from Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh of MPs and MLAs announcing their intention to join 'JSP' as well. ]
