Getting stung could mean anything and the worst case scenario, actual death. It didn't know. The information was simply not there, nothing about this situation was even possible according to it. But it couldn't deny what was happening right in front of them.
Levi almost fell where he stood. He was down on one knee, his vision was blurred. His breathing was getting ragged by the second, he didn't look well either.
'System, how useless can you be? Why don't you know any of this? Aren't you supposed to be my guardian?' He was very spiteful.
"Apologies Master. It would seem that it's very possible to enter other people's Hubs. They're like territories, you can enter but it would be very disadvantageous unless you were very strong or the opponent is very weak." It explained hastily.
"That's my assessment anyway."
'Wow. I have so much to say to you right now, I just lack the energy. Aren't there protective measures against this?' He asked, thinking the words faster than he thought possible.
"There are...but you're still so weak. Master, the worst way to destroy an enemy would be to destroy them from within...within their Hub."
The explanations were assumptions but they made sense.
Levi groaned in annoyance.
'You made me create a territory I couldn't protect? Unbelievable. You sure you're a gift?'
"This is most unusual, it never happens Master."
'Yet it's happening right now!'
The monster in front of him disappeared. He quickly got up, thinking it would appear behind him.
He ran forward with his arms flapping uselessly on his sides. The strides he took were large but it felt like he wasn't running at all, it didn't seem he was closing any distance as fast as his feet were moving.
Something or someone was holding him back, he wasn't given much time to ponder about it. The monster appeared right in front of him, his heart jumped out of his chest.
His entire body was frozen, he never thought it could be possible for the body to accept such coldness without shutting down.
Using its tail, it swatted him to the other side of his world.
It took him a while to get back up but the monster wasn't done with him yet. It fell on his back almost breaking his spine and making him return to the dirt he was just kissing a second ago. He fell face first.
'Oh come on! Fuck!' He was frustrated, he thought this would be a vacation for him until he was a little ready for this world.
He didn't expect to be on survival mode as an infant — he at least expected harmony until a ripe age. It was too cruel, but he couldn't complain. The afterlife system did say, he could consider this his own personal hell.
Levi expected for the thing to still be ontop of him because his body felt very heavy. When he turned however it wasn't there. He quickly looked around, the thing was splayed on the ground at a distance.
"Of course! You can use the world to your advantage. Just now, you made the ground bouncy, that's why it's laying over there!"
He got up again with much difficulty, he concentrated hard on his mutilated arms. Hoping to heal them somehow, his concentration however wasn't all there. He couldn't help but take quick peeks at the monster in front of him.
When it got up, he bolted the other way. He was still very weak, he was in his own territory but that all didn't matter — he was very new at this and didn't know how to help himself.
'I can't! I can't even heal my arms! Ohhh, it's closing in. It moves unbelievably fast!'
It hadn't even reached him and the stinger was already attacking. He swerved to the left and unwittingly jumped, planting his foot ontop of it, causing for it to be buried deep in the ground.
He stood there in front of it, unbelieving that he'd just done that. It's pincers wanted to cut him in half, but he was far enough they couldn't reach.
'Di-did I really do that? Me?'
"Training wasn't such a waste of time your high—master..."
'Why is it here? Do you know?' He realised biting the very thing sent to help will not make the situation any better. He knew the system had a lot of things it wasn't telling him.
"I don't."
'No theories?' He asked a little disappointed.
"Well, Master...I think your godly parent sent these. Maybe to test your strength maybe to kill you."
'WHAT?' He was shocked, he wasn't even a teenager yet and his own parent was possibly trying to kill him.
"Master, you'll have to kill it."
'There's nothing, I don't have a weapon!'
The scorpion was squirming. Beating on the ground trying to get it's tail out of the seemingly concrete dirt but it wasn't making much progress. Levi on the other hand was entirely focused on healing his arms.
He only hoped that it didn't come free. He focused on his arms, the first thing that came to mind was a needle — a cold silver needle with a long tail for a thread.
Levi imagined it stitching his arms. He imagined it weaving his very atoms, forcing his cells to patch up the skin that looked like a nuclear weapon had been through it.
He opened his eyes but only slightly, scared to see what was or wasn't happening. It was a strange sight, his flesh moved on its own, mending itself, connecting every destroyed tendon.
"They're not moving on their own, Gi is doing this." The system explained. "Careful, don't lose focus, you're doing great." It said as it sensed him wanting to argue.
'Right.'
They were already properly healed within a few seconds, but it was a few seconds too late as he felt something cold and metallic prick through his thinly layered spine.
He tried to turn his head but it was useless, his legs gave in under him.
