Volon Therys
The day was agitated. The city has elections between the local aristocracy each time a city lord dies to decide a lifelong new city lord. The great landowners' family named Zeys was the one that won the previous election. They came from an unimportant branch of one of the forty of Valyria and were having to welcome dragon riders of their main branch in Valyria.
The Zeys of Valyria was a middle-level valyrian house, more powerful than the Targaryens, but weaker than the top fourteen. The dragon's rider's name was Rhaegel Zeys. He was a pain to the a** since he first came.
The first thing he asked the city lord was where could he find the wh*r*s the city was famous for. The city lord sent one of his servants to accompany the wanna-be young master. That, after passing two minutes at a brothel, he returned complaining that it was Lys the city famous for its wh*r*s, that the rabble of this city lacked technique, and that he had to visit this sh*tty pasture.
He have forgotten that was he, who wanted to go to Volon Therys, because he heard that the city lord's daughter was a beauty and he wanted according to his inner murmur to see if she was beautiful enough for him to take her.
But, in more accurate terms, he simply wanted to r*p* her. He saw her and concluded that she was not beautiful enough, and ended up f*ck*ng the city lord's wife instead. Not much surprisingly, she was very willing to please Rhaegel, in her own delusions of acquiring the status of a concubine.
Her husband knew about all but was quick to get credit for his wife's infidelity saying he order her to please as a show of loyalty Rhaegel, lying through his teeth about how hard he worked to convince his wife to please the dragon rider. Though, he surely would give his wife some Lys' tears later.
The city lord never was faithful to her too and also would r*p* woman, since he came of age. Some of his sons took his r*p* tendency, and others of his sons and daughter enjoyed torture, though it varies, some prefer flaying, others burning, taking a person's eye with a knife, and so on... So it could be said karma was getting closer to them.
One day, Rhaegel said he was bored, so he went hunting with his dragon and he with his dragon killed an Old Men of the River with his dragon teeth. He did not burn it, because he wanted to take it as a hunting trophy. As Sar Mell was quite near Volon Therys news travel their fast. As a Rhoyne city, they have great respect for the Rhoyne and were faithful to mother Royne. So, when they heard that one, that was from a specie holy to them and associated with a god, was killed and taken as a trophy. They instantly declared war on the Volon Therys.
"How dare a group of mere fishermen to declare war on the mighty Valyria!?" shouted the war bringer himself.-It all the fault of you rabble that ruled over this city, that is pathetic enough to the point that fishermen here think that you are Valyria.
The city lord was not brave enough to remind the young master that they declared war on Volon Therys and not Valyria as a whole.
"Please, forgive us great lord." the city lord said." we are pathetic enough that fishermen are brave enough to defy Valyria. Only noble you can save Valyria's reputation."
"Pathetic rabble, I will do this, because those fishermen annoyed me, but words of this city's incompetence will reach my father." he ended up taking the old city lord by the neck.
The city lord was happy that he could make at least the main branch share a bit of the blame for starting a war without the freehold council's approval. Although the tension between rhoynar cities and valyrian colonies has been increasing, the forty have not reached a consensus about what to do with the rhoynars, after all, some influential families have important trade business with them.
Others have research collaboration projects with rhoynar mages. Some even wanted to after the invasion takes some noblewoman of the rhoynar in other to breed the perfect magicians that they thought of raising like the Unsullied from their Astapor colony.
In the city lord's head, the dragon taking Sar Mell by surprise would surely cripple their war supplies, making war a lot easier, because he, for the slight of causing a war without the council's approval, would have his city obligated to fight on their own and he doubted that the young master will bother supporting them through the war. He did not know yet that he fucked up.
Sadly, Rhaegel did burn a lot of fields of Sar Mell. Later, his dragon fell as a spear pierced its wings.
