Capítulo 1: Starting My Journey With A Fight (Rewrite)

I don't know who thought it'd be a good idea to reincarnate Dan, but it wasn't. It was not a good idea. He thought so himself.

Killing time, he looked at his new body in a mirror, running his hands through his lengthy hair. He shuddered immediately; its familiar feeling gave him chills.

"I don't like it," Dan said to himself.

Like all problems in his life, he decided to solve it. Stepping over piles of vomit, he made his way to the bathroom.

Once there, a razor was aimed at his head. "I'm just going to trim it," he spoke to himself, bracing for the cut. His breath became haggard as he brought it closer to his hair.

Suddenly, his hand shook uncontrollably, and before he knew it... all his hair was gone.

"W-what the hell!" Dan exclaimed, holding his right arm with his left. "You said you didn't like your hair," his hand retorted.

It laughed a crooked, pretty laugh, much like a cute girl would in a situation where it was not appropriate.

Soon, Dan began laughing too. "What the hell!" he chuckled, clutching his stomach with his left arm. "Are you kidding me? This new world has definitely gotten more interesting!"

Who did this guy think he was?

....

"Treat your new classmate well and with respect," the teacher said, waving toward him. "Come introduce yourself to the class."

"My name is Dan," he said before making his way to the nearest empty seat.

For context, Dan had decided to come to school after the wild haircut. And he was here, albeit a little late

Since Dan had arrived at class late. he thought he would have little intermission before his first class would start. He had planned to come early to scope out the situation and maybe socialize, but he was not very punctual.

'I'm not even used to coming to school haha... I'm homeschooled!"

Fortunately, he thought at the time, the teacher had left to go participate in a meeting, leaving him some time to make some friends.

But kids his age were mean, especially school kids, he thought.

"How would you know? You're homeschooled, remember?" his hand chimed in.

His eyes darted across faces, worried they might have heard. "Hey!" he lightly yelled at his hand.

But his hand was right; Dan didn't remember learning his school material from school.

"Who are you 'heying'?" An aggressive hand slammed down on his desk, spitting in his face.

Dan took a while to process what he meant. Did he think Dan was talking to him?

"Are you deaf, you bald bastard?" he yelled again, grabbing the hem of his shirt and forcing their faces together across the desk. "Who do you think you are flirting with, Mira?"

Dan glanced back at the beautiful girl who looked familiar for some reason.

Losing that thought, Dan's head snapped back as he was headbutted by the rude teen.

"H...hey," Dan stuttered with blood spurting out of his nose. "It's a misunderstanding-"

But the weak voice Dan was not attuned to was drowned out by the commotion of his classmates.

In the back, he heard voices talking... "Zack is definitely not going to let this one go!" and "He's an undefeated boxer; he beat up three older students on his first day."

Boxing.

Dan spun around, his right hand instinctively gripping the edge of his chair, and launched the chair at Zack.

Zack narrowly avoided it and rushed at Dan.

Before Dan could audibly react, Zack jabbed at him. His right hand slapped it away, parrying the quick attack.

It seemed like his hand would fight for him.

Despite his inexperience, he recognized the jab, but was at its mercy until his right hand stepped in.

"Boxing: the art of hitting and not getting hit. It focuses on punch combinations, footwork, and head movement," his hand instructed him.

Zack's feet shifted, and Dan's hand pulled in a direction, prompting him to narrowly dodge away using the momentum of the hand's nudging.

"Ahh!" Taking things into his own hands, Dan let out a battle cry, throwing the best punch he could muster—an awkward, sloppy one—at Zack.

It was easily dodged, and Zack countered with a punch to Dan's right jaw. Fortunately, his right hand was already in a proper guard stance, ready to block the counter.

"Hmph!" Zack wanted to acknowledge the fighter before him just a little before wreaking havoc, but this bastard had "hit on" Mira.

A massive flurry of quick jabs flew Dan's way, and while his hand dealt with most of them, one got very close to hitting him. Zack continued this assault until Dan was cornered near a window.

"Trust me and follow my lead," Dan's hand instructed. It sounded more unstable than it had in the week they had been communicating.

"Duck!" Dan did indeed duck, narrowly avoiding a straight punch that shattered the window behind him.

On his way back up, Dan staggered, leaving the perfect opening for a strong attack.

"The stronger, the slower. Nice slip-up; now catch his fist." Dan's screw up was now being turned into a strength.

Dan winced as he caught the powerful punch. "Gah!" He exclaimed.

"Put your right foot out in front of you, get a strong grip under the elbow, pull him into you, and bring your elbow up." Dan realized where this was going.

Once Zack was off balance, Dan's right arm shot under his armpit while his left clutched Zack's arm. Taking a step off his left foot, Dan moved back slightly, throwing his hip into the motion, bending his knees, and twisting, sending Zack flying out of the broken window.

"What the hell?" was the only thing Dan could muster as his classmates stared at him.

He missed home.

"At least I'm here," his hand said for comfort or distraction.

Not everything is as it seems.
