Capítulo 26: Parasite

When he had checked on Agatha's pulse earlier before being rudely interrupted by Agatha, he had long known about the abnormality.

What kind of stupid illness is there that could make one lose their voice?

Now there could be some smartass here saying, "actually there is some illness such as laryngitis that could cause the person's voice to be hoarse."

After all, laryngitis occurs when the voice box(larynx) becomes inflamed and the vocal cords are swollen and can't vibrate properly to produce proper sound.

If you found it confusing, then congrats. Because you're not alone and this information was Google searched with a simple question.

However, if you found it easy to comprehend, then please, stop bragging would you?

No one loves smarty pants!

Anyway, back to the main topic of how Lawrence detected something was amiss when he checked on the pulse. All symptoms aside, Agatha's mother clearly displayed movement that seemed unnatural, almost as if she was being restricted.

In fact, it was quite evident that she wasn't feeling comfortable occasionally, prompting Lawrence to believe that was the time when the parasite was moving from its initial position.

Thus, Lawrence decided to restrain the full body movement of Agatha's mother with his mana, while sensing the parasite's location.

Given his mana was pure and amazing, just like his handsome features, Lawrence was confident enough to corner the parasite.

This kind of parasite might pose a problem to crooked doctors or even those who use magic to heal, given that it was not something that could be healed unless the source of the problem was removed.

The parasite was clearly immune to mana, otherwise, it should have been killed the moment Lawrence started increasing the pressure of his mana for suppression.

"Stop glaring at me already. I'm trying to cure you." Lawrence clicked his tongue and said, feeling uncomfortable by the constant glare.

"Yes, I'm a bastard who violated your daughter and deserves to die in the 18th layer of hell. But you still need me to cure you first so that you can curse me directly, right?"

Agatha's mother might not be able to say anything, but he wasn't dense like most dumb protagonists to not be able to read what she was trying to convey.

The dense protagonists' type are the most cringe and annoying motherfucking bitches to ever exist in this world.

They get all these hot women falling for them, but what kind of quality do they even have?

Handsome?

Bitch, get the hell out of here! Could they be more handsome than Lawrence? And let's not forget that they were always introduced as "average-looking", and "average in everything."

Strength?

Charm?

Luck?

All these three stats are practically annoyingly given to them because the authors are incapable of writing a decently good character that slowly lets the dense protagonist achieve them.

Plot armor?

Yes, that was about it because the women most likely knew the dense protagonist would never die, so staying by him ensured their safety.

After all, the dense protagonist's brain cells were as good as a damn pea, so without the plot armor, who knows how many times they would have died?

Oh, and don't even mention their stupidity of always trying to be the hero, only to end up being a useless person that caused more trouble.

'Damn, I'm ranting quite a lot. Maybe it's because this parasite is just like those dense protagonists. Annoying and cringe.' Lawrence thought to himself, having realized why he was somewhat annoyed by trying to locate the parasite.

What Lawrence hated about parasites was that they were intelligent. And by intelligent, he legit meant they are more intelligent than most human beings.

Once they realize they are in danger of being exposed or captured, they would do their best to conceal their presence or even mimic one of the internal organs to avoid detection.

However, that wasn't even the worst part a parasite could do. In the worst-case scenario, some parasites are like kamikaze.

Having known their life was about to be over, they would do their best to self-destruct, inflicting the maximum amount of damage they could do on their host before extraction.

And naturally, this self-destruction usually meant the host would soon die as well, given their entire internal organs or whatever cells are there have been exploded.

Not an expert in biology, so all there was in our knowledge was the famous kidney that could be sold for money.

But if you're a biology expert, then you could think of the possible organs inside the human body. Be the nerd if you want, but count me out.

"Just using mana alone isn't going to catch that slippery parasite," Lawrence mumbled softly.

As much as he hated to admit being on the losing end, Lawrence had no choice but to admit that this parasite sure knew how to run.

Every single time he felt a sense of its presence. The parasite seemingly vanished, almost as if a typical father was proclaiming to buy milk for their son, only to end up disappearing forever in their life type of shenanigans.

"That's it, I'm done playing nice." Lawrence snorted coldly.

"Don't glare at me, because this is the only way to get you back to your original state." He then told Agatha's mother.

Lawrence concentrated, his mana swirling and pulsating within him.

With determination etched across his face, he extended his hand, directing the mana toward Agatha's mother. The energy emitted a faint glow, encasing his fingers with a soft, cerulean hue.

For those who don't know what cerulean hue are, it was basically a blue color but in a more fancy way that resembled closely to a mana color. If you still don't know, then Google Image is your best friend or just think of the color blue.

Back to action, Lawrence delicately probed her body, maneuvering his mana as if following an invisible trail left by the elusive parasite.

As he did so, Agatha's mother's body quivered slightly, a reaction to the mana's presence. Lawrence's brows furrowed in concentration, the strain of the search evident in his eyes.

Author: I'm merely joking regarding dense protgoanists.

Lawrence: Stop the cap, author! We all know that's your true feelings. Embrace your inner thought and stop hiding it.
