Capítulo 20: Chapter 20 Sleep With Him
Daniel glanced at Sasha who was looking at him expectantly.
"You're not a child. You should learn how to keep an appropriate distance with men."
Not only did he tell this for her own good, but he was also indicating that she should stay away from him.
Sasha responded with a nod, understanding his meaning very well.
But as she look at her room where there was a dead mouse, she was still afraid, "But…I am frightened. I don't want to sleep alone."
"How about sleeping with me, Miss Sasha?" Said Chloe, standing behind them. No one knew when she came.
Sasha saw Chloe and widened her eyes, blaming, "It was you! You put the dead mouse in my room and now you offer to accompany me to sleep, pretending you are nice!"
That was how she repaid others' kindness?
Chloe glared at Sasha speechlessly. She didn't want to talk to this stupid woman anymore.
Seeing Chloe didn't explain, Sasha thought that she was right about it and Chloe was guilty, so she continued screaming, "Daniel, look at her! She didn't deny it! She did that to me!"
Hearing the blame, Chloe shook her head slightly. She rubbed her temples with her hands, saying in a low voice, "Come on! Just to be clear, I didn't come here until you made a fuss. Who knows what happened to you?"
"You are lying. You must have known that your plan has succeeded, so you came downstairs to make fun of me! What a scheming woman you are! I'm so glad that the engagement was canceled."
Sasha's impolite and harsh accusation ignited Chloe's anger. She thought she had grown up to endure this, but as she was slandered, she still felt so angry.
She snorted coldly, "Then tell me. How do you know it was me?"
Chloe walked closer slowly with her crutch, but no one dared to disrespect her for her disability now.
Besides, considering her injury, how could she put a dead mouse in Sasha's room without being caught by anyone in the house?
Even stupid as Sasha was, she knew this too. So she parted her lips but said nothing.
Just while the atmosphere was getting really intense, Daniel turned to Sasha coldly, "Go to sleep in Chloe's room, Sasha."
There was no clean room available now. It was impossible for him to sleep with Sasha. So the best choice would be to arrange Sasha to sleep in Chloe's room.
Sensing the anger in Daniel's voice, Sasha didn't dare to protest.
She went straight into Chloe's bedroom and slammed the door loudly.
Then there were Chloe, who was still confused, and Daniel, who was looking at Chloe thoughtfully.
Chloe closed her eyes to calm herself down, and then she slowly turned around, "Have the sofa prepared and I will sleep there tonight."
Daniel saw that she was walking towards the sofa slowly, which was clearly not what he had planned in his mind.
"Ah!"
While Chloe was walking, she was scooped up in Daniel's strong arms all of a sudden.
What was he doing?
"Do you want me to sleep in your bedroom?" asked Chloe.
Without answering, Daniel quickly carried her into his bedroom and gently put her on the bed.
The big soft bed was so much more comfortable than the sofa downstairs.
Lying on the bed and watching Daniel tuck her in silently, she didn't say a word.
How could she ever give up on him if he was so considerate? But before her rebirth, why was he being so cold? He did break her heart into pieces.
Thinking of this, Chloe closed her eyes and didn't want to see him.
She thought that Daniel would leave and sleep on the sofa downstairs by himself. But to her surprise, he slept on the other side of the bed.
"What are you doing? Shouldn't you sleep on the sofa downstairs tonight?"
Daniel took a blanket and covered him with it, "Go to sleep now. I am not interested in you. I prefer curvy girls."
That was a lie.
In fact, he wanted to touch her so badly, smelling her sweet perfume. Her skin was fair and smooth, her hair silky, and her body...
He could have them all just reaching out his hand. There couldn't be better timing.
But he restrained his desire.
While Chloe didn't drive him away, considering she still remembered the backache that sofa gave her.
It was dark in the room with the dim moonlight spilled in.
Chloe closed her eyes tightly in the darkness, but she was not sleepy at all. There had been many nights when she was lying on the bed alone, waiting for Daniel to come back home.
Now he was with her, but something seemed to change between them.
"Do you think that I put the dead mouse in her room?" Said Chloe, who couldn't fall asleep, and asked him finally.
After a long time, Daniel answered in a low voice, "Definitely not you."
Daniel used the word 'definitely' so he trusted her undoubtedly.
But why did it take him so long to answer?
"You said before that you would teach her manners. Why were you being so tolerant tonight?" Daniel didn't get it.
"You noticed that I was being tolerant?" Chloe asked in surprise. She thought she was good at lying.
"Of course."
Well, clearly she overestimated herself.
"Her mother told me to take good care of her for some time. I don't really know how to deal with girls. But I will be glad if you can teach her some manners and I promise I won't interfere. Ten million for your efforts, it's not a bad deal for either of us."
With some money, he just handed Chloe this 'troublesome burden' easily. He was indeed a businessman, always making good transactions with others.
But Chloe couldn't deny that he was right.
Gradually, she fell asleep.
Daniel, on the other hand, was not sleepy at all. His heart was pounding so heavily that he could hear his own heartbeat in the quiet dark night.
Noting that Chloe had fallen asleep, Daniel sat up carefully, his eyes fixed on her face under the moonlight.
He really missed her bright smile. And Sasha's arrival had taken that from him. Now she had to tolerate Sasha and even suppressed her anger.
Daniel didn't want that.
He walked out quietly with his phone. Then he made a call.
"Send someone to install surveillance cameras in my house tomorrow."
