Capítulo 33: Chapter 33: Beyond the Wall

As Aiden and the Starks headed to Winterfell, his other self remained beyond the wall. He decided to give the Children of the Forest one last chance at redemption. He understood that they were tricked into doing what they did, and didn't want to completely exterminate a race if he didn't have to.

So instead he sent them to Kandor to teach magic to those with the ability, it was impossible to teach his siblings kryptonian magic since it required you to be kryptonian to practice. Leaf had readily agreed and they were sent to Kandor.

Aiden began to fly north, he saw many Free Folk, or wildlings as the peoples south of the Wall called them, they were gathering together and making larger camps, slowly migrating south. From what Leaf had told him they were extremely wary of strangers, so Aiden made sure to stay high in the clouds as he flew.

Suddenly to the north he heard screams and a battle taking place. When he used his vision to see what was happening, he noticed the undead attacking a village of Free Folk.

'There is dark magic in the creation of these beings. If I don't stop their advance, eventually they will just keep heading south. Hopefully the Free Folk won't attack me once I deal with these things, I'd hate to have to kill them too.' Aiden thought as he then dashed to the location.

Within seconds he arrived in front of the small horde of undead, as soon as he landed much of the battle stopped. Even the undead took a few steps back instinctively, this was due to his natural aura that was highly ominous to undead creatures.

Even if the undead had a consciousness and were trying to protect the living, all undead are of Evil alignment. Necromancy was magic that went against the natural order of any universe.

Taking a moment to get a full view of the situation, he was in the far north end of the Haunted Forest, the trees were several feet apart but dense, you couldn't walk in a straight line. Aiden took a quick count of the undead, as he did this the Wights left the living alone, it was as if they were studying him as well.

"Get back!" Aiden shouted to the Free Folk to get them out of their stupor.

Many of the Free Folk just stood their ground, they were a proud people, they only took orders from their leaders. They were not only trying to figure out where he appeared from, but how he was even able to handle the freezing cold. Unlike them, who were bundled in thick layers of fur to stay warm, Aiden had a thin skin tight armor and red cape with a hood.

Seeing none of them move, Aiden was about to repeat himself, but at that moment all the Wights moved to attack Aiden, completely ignoring the Free Folk. It was as if they all received the same order.

'Well this complicates things, I can't use heat vision or I would cause the trees to be cut which could fall on these people. Guess it's the old fashioned way.' Aiden thought as he waited for the first Wight to arrive.

The Wights were almost skeletal, they still had flesh and muscle in some places, as well broken or tattered armor. They were in different stages of decay, but they all shared a common trait, their eyes. All the Wights had the same icy blue eyes that seemed to glow bright.

They weren't slow moving either, they had inhuman strength and speed. Some even had weapons, swords, axes, maces and even bows. They rushed towards Aiden as if he was their arch nemesis, determined to kill him.

Aiden had noticed that there had been some Wights that were carrying the bodies of the dead back North, but had dropped those bodies to try to overwhelm him.

The Wight closest to Aiden was carrying a large rusted axe, and wore clothes similar to a member of the Free Folk tribes. It growled as it dashed forward. Aiden could sense the influence of the Night King.

"I wonder if you can see me Night King. I do hope so, cause then it wouldn't be any fun, I hope you know you brought your own destruction. Had you stayed up in your lands I probably would've left you alone, but instead you chose to build an army. You threaten all life, that isn't something I can tolerate, know that I will come for you soon." Aiden stated.

He let the axe swing down, not even trying to dodge, the axe shattered into pieces after it slammed into his rib cage, shocking the living back into a daze.

"My turn." Aiden said and threw out a punch, as the fist travelled a golden yellow fire, similar to the color of the sun, formed around his fist.

Upon impact the Wight shattered and the pieces caught on fire instantly, the pieces flew back and crashed into many of the other incoming Wights, which also turned them to flame. Seeing that the Wights didn't stop, Aiden waited and repeated the process.

Seeing the attack was highly effective he dashed forward easily demolishing the small army of Wights.

A large burly man with red hair and beard took the initiative and charged forward, he wielded a crudely made axe, similar to a Macuahuit axe, a wooden handle a little over a meter in length, or about three in a half feet long, with two large sharpened obsidian stones on one side while a single sharpened stone on the opposite side.

He dashed forward, using the fact that the undead were no longer focusing on him and his band to unleash his anger on the undead for killing his people. His actions spurred on the others who joined in on attacking the undead.

Flaming arrows began to be fired, expertly killing some of the Wights since they had an extreme weakness to flame. Previously the archers didn't have the luxury to light their arrows due to having to constantly move. Like all undead, Wights felt no fear or pain, they didn't tire and were extremely fast, so an archer trying to light their arrows was impossible.

Now the Wights were completely ignoring them, focused solely on Aiden. One even let out a scream that pierced through the sound of battle, it was a sickening screach that sounded inhuman.

Aiden then noticed more Wights coming from the North. 'Calling reinforcements, so it seems they can communicate, looks like they do have a small amount of intelligence. Well there's no living people that way so lets get rid of them before they start focusing on these idiots. Had they listened I could've just used my heat vision from the stary to wipe them out completely.' Aiden thought as he continued to kill the zombies.

Turning so his back was to the Free Folk, he let out a scorching beam of golden red light, this wasn't like his normal heat vision. This beam was much thicker than his usual heat vision, he needed it to be extra hot to slice through the tree trunks immediately as it passed thru them.

Immediately the Wights all cought fire as the beam cut not only the trees but the undead in half as he swept his head in order to strafe the incoming army of undead. This instantly killed all the undead it touched.

The forest went dead silent for but a moment until the trees began to fall, the sound of branches breaking and trees slamming into each other as they hit the ground filled the air. The Free Folk stared wide eyed and mouths agape at what they had just witnessed.

One man let out a shout as an archer had accidentally fired a flaming arrow into his ass cheek due to being distracted.

"Who the fuck shot me in the ass!" The man yelled as he quickly yanked the arrow out and applied pressure to the wound.

This shout brought every out of their daze, but then seeing a large portion of the woods cleared shut down their brain once again. They couldn't fathom what had happened, if not for the clear evidence of so many trees now laying on the ground, they would've thought it was their imagination.

"Oi, why the fuck didn't you just do that from the start magic man!" The big burly red haired man finally shouted.

"That was the plan, however you and your people didn't get back when I said to, had I did that from the start it would've put your men in danger." Aiden said rolling his eyes as the man.

Suddenly an arrow flew at his forehead, but Aiden just casually caught it, before he could ask why someone attacked him, a pale skinned red haired woman stepped out, she was skinny but well-built, her eyes were blue-grey in color. She wasn't gorgeous, but did have a beauty that was unique to herself. She carried a bow and a few daggers and was draped in a bear fur.

"Fuck you magic man, we not all be men."

The burly man chuckled, "Don't mind Ygritte, like me she is kissed by fire, short tempered. Thanks for the help magic man, I am Tormund Giantsbane leader of this group."

"No problem, I am Aiden, I saw the undead attacking so did what was right is all. Is your camp close? I will escort you back safely."

Tormund shook his head, "Nay, our village was attacked several days ago, we heard there was a man calling himself King Beyond The Wall, we were going to see this new King for ourselves, if he's strong enough we will join him. If not, then I'll be taking his crown myself. I wouldn't mind being king." Tormund stated with a laugh.

"Hmm, mind if I join you? I would like to see this king beyond the wall for myself. Also I would like to know more about your people, I have heard many things but as you know there are always two sides to every story, so I'd like to see it myself." Aiden asked, to which he received permission quite readily, they too wanted to know more about him as well.

Back south of the wall Ned and the others, along with Aiden, had traveled for several days and were finally arriving back at Winterfell. The rest of the trip went smoothly, they did run into a few bandits, but they were easily dispatched even without Aiden's assistance.

He had answered many questions regarding his origins, he didn't want them to think he was using magic, or at least blood magic, as well as questions regarding Flamebird, who even made lots of friends. They were shocked by her intelligence, Targaryen dragons weren't dumb creatures in any way, but they only understood High Valyrian and even then only simple words.

It was why when dragons were around still, the guards at the dragon pit had to know High Valyrian in order to corral the dragons when the Targaryen's weren't riding them. They could communicate much easier with their riders, but even then it wasn't exactly talking as you would person to person, it was more emotions and intent.

A group of riders came out to meet Ned and the group well before they arrived at the gates, they were using the time to catch Ned up with what had been going on in the lands since he left. Upon finding out that Catelyn was having complications with her pregnancy, Ned looked to Aiden.

"Would you mind taking a look at my wife, I will give you anything within my power if you can heal her." Ned asked respectfully.

"No need for any reward or payment Lord Stark, as I've said before, we are practically family. I would be more than happy to assist your family in whatever is needed. Just don't ask me to resurrect anyone, that is something that shouldn't be done." Aiden replied.

"You can raise the dead?" Ned asked incredulously.

"I can, but it's not good on the world. Balance would be inevitably broken."

"How so?" Robb asked curiously, which all the other men perked up their ears to listen as well.

"Let's put it this way, should the people of this world know their loved ones or themselves could be resurrected quite a few things would happen. The living would act more reckless since they would no longer fear death, and wars would occur constantly. Everyone has lost someone they love, so imagine what people would be willing to do to gain their parent, spouse or child they lost back. Greed would take over the world causing a downward spiral in morals. I have heard the red priests and priestess of R'hllor have been bringing back people who recently died, although it's not a full resurrection like I can do, but it does show on a smaller scale the effects it can have. Those they resurrect lose something each time, so if it's done enough times, they will either become mindless or insane eventually." Aiden explained.

"Aye, I never thought of it like that. Its true, I would do anything to be able to see my mother, father and brother once again." Ned Stark shuddered at the thought.

"No one is to mention anything about this ability. If word spread that Aiden can do such things, we would find ourselves drowning in troubles, not just from rich nobles but even the smallfolk as well." Ned looked back at his men, they all agreed after some thought on those words.

"Not even if you did it once?" Robb asked, he was still young so he could grasp the full repercussions like the men.

"Once wouldn't hurt, but once leads to twice then thrice and so on. The only way it could work would be to resurrect the whole planet after it was destroyed. Then none would really know they were resurrected, they would think their death was a dream and move on. Resurrecting a world doesn't effect the balance of the universe, it just puts it back to where it was before the worlds destruction more than anything." Aiden stated in an attempt to explain further.

He knew it was rather difficult for humans, especially a none scientific world, to understand the overall picture. This was why he was trying to put it in terms that they could understand, there was more to it but he didn't want to get into the afterlife too much since that can cause another set of issues.

It didn't take long for them to arrive within the main courtyard of Winterfell, Maester Luwin, Ser Rodrik Cassel as well as Sansa, Arya and Bran welcomed their return along with many of the household servants.

As soon as Ned dismounted, all three of his children dashed forward, tears streaming down their faces in joy.

"Father! Robb!" They shouted as they hugged their father and brother.

They had heard of the attack on their father and his men and had been worried, they had overheard many of the servants who were now worried about a war starting against the south.

"Winterfell is yours, Lord Stark." Rodrik stated with salute.

"Good to see you old friend." Ned said as he shook his hand, he then turned to Luwin and continued, "Call for all northern Lords to come to Winterfell. Winter is coming and we need to be prepared."
