[Quest: Hunting Shrub Goblins] [25/30]
A few hours had already passed as Wyatt Continued his Goblin hunt during this time he had only run into groups of 3s leading to much easier battles. He had been wanting to try a strategy out against 4 but luck wasn't on his side.
That was until the current moment as Wyatt hide stealthily on a tree watching the group of 4 creatures ransack beneath him. Going over his plan in his head a couple more times Wyatt was awaiting the right opportunity to strike. A minute later 2 of goblins walked over to another bush a couple of meters away .
NOW!
[wind wall]
Suddenly the section of the forest seemed to be split in half by a massive wind current separating the 2 groups. Wyatt not wasting any time launched toward the 2 goblins who had been left behind Throwing both his Chakrams at the melee fighter in the group. This duo consisted of one melee and one archer Wyatt had already planned how to get rid of them.
With the melee distracted with blocking his flying weapons, Wyatt appeared in front of the archer before Condensing lightning mana into one hand and hurling it directly at the archers face sending him flying into a nearby tree.
BOOM
Before Wyatt could continue the archer partner appeared in front of him swinging his club. Weaponless Wyatt raised his arm in defense taking the impact him on pushing him over a meter back but not as far as his earlier battles.
During the last couple hours of hunting, Wyatt had managed to level up again reaching level 3. Gaining 10 free stat points Wyatt decided to add 5 of them into his defense right away because he was tired of always being pushed back on every hit. Although +5 defense didn't change much against weaker group monsters like the Shrub goblins it gave Wyatt a much needed boost in stability.
As Wyatt slid back from the impact he reached his hand out against the goblin's chest and pushed him away with his wind. Landing back on his feet the goblin was about to charge at him again when it suddenly stopped collapsing face first into the ground dead. Stick out of the goblins back were both of Wyatts Chakrams that he had secretly controlled to attack his opponent from behind.
With 1 goblin dead Wyatt quickly finished off the weak archer who was still out cold from his punch moments ago.
Now with one duo dead it was time to invite the others over!
Before taking down his wind wall, Wyatt used his drowsy skill creating a pink gas bubbled around him. This time he chose to make the bubble more compact only covering a small area but more potent for anyone who steps into it. Dragging the two dead goblins into the center of the bubble Wyatt ended the wind wall before hiding again.
Two Confused Shrub goblins appeared moments after.
SHRIEEEK?
they shouted looking for their companions and searching around the vicinity. Finally, their eyes landed on the new pink gas bubble.
Although the Goblins could understand basic teamwork they weren't the brightest creatures around so they didn't think much before walking right into the bubble. Due to the gas being more condensed, the goblins had trouble seeing clearly inside this lead to them taking a while to find the corpses of their teammates.
SHRIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEK SHRIEEEK
SHRIEEEEEK
the goblins started screaming out in shock finding the corpses before attempting to run away in fear. Unfortunately for them, they had already inhaled way too much drowsy gas for their tiny bodies making them feel light headed before fainting on the cold floor.
Clearing away the gas Wyatt appeared out of a bush right next to them throwing a chakram to finish both off quickly.
Ending the battle Wyatt couldn't help patting himself on the back
Much cleaner this time! he thought.
cleaning up his mess and collecting his loot Wyatt checked his Quests
[Collect Silver Riverbloom plants] [7/10]
[Collect Afic Hogweed] [0/5]
[Quest: Hunting Shrub Goblins] [29/30]
Just one goblin away from finishing his hunt Wyatt couldn't help but frown seeing that he had failed to locate any Afic hogweed so far.
Throwing everything into his inventory Wyatt was about to continue searching when his ears picked up the sound of players arguing nearby.
Usually, Wyatt wouldn't be the type to care about such a situation but after hunting alone for a few hours his curiosity got the best of him.
Walking past a couple more trees Wyatt found an open clearing within the forest where two groups could be seen in a heated discussion.
The first group seemed to be a standard team for adventuring consisting of 1 melee 1 tank an archer and finally a healer, they were all wearing the same green design on their armor and clothes. Truthfully the group didn't look that interesting to Wyatt and it wasn't until he looked at who they were arguing with that he became surprised.
"Tall!" He couldn't help but exclaim out loud by accident looking that the pair of a boy and girl within his sight. Luckily the other players were too far to hear his surprised reaction so Wyatt chose to listen in on their conversation.
The female player was beautiful, her long orange hair was tied up in a ponytail and she was wearing a full set of plated armor which seemed to perfectly hug her body showing off her well-shaped curves. On her back a massive Warhammer could be seen.
The male on the hand stuck out for a completely different reason. At first glance Wyatt could tell that he played a healer class judging by his traditional cloth priest robe the only problem was that it didn't match him at all. Standing at what Wyatt could only assumed to be over 6'5 (195.58 cm) the Male priest was JACKED! his muscles bulging out from underneath the thin cloth clothing he wore. Due to this Wyatt couldn't help but chuckle looking at the man who looked more like a bodybuilder dressing up for Halloween than an actual healer
"I already told you I need this wolf hides for a quest I'm not handing them over" the tall female snarked at the group "If you want some go hunt your own wolves" she continued.
The leader of the other group clearly didn't her attitude judging by the displeased look on his face "I already told you our Lotus Guild is planning to set up our base nearby and has decided to claim this forest for our members!" The leader snarled back
"Just consider this a tax for allowing you to enter here" He declared
With this statement, the girls frown grew "Tax?? There's no such thing as controlling an open map your guild doesn't own shit I won't hand over anything!" She argued
At this point, Wyatt could already tell the general situation. A group of "guild members" were using their numbers to harass players into handing over their loot. Wyatt couldn't help but sympathize with the poor girl
"Sighhhh.." the tall man behind her finally opened his mouth "It's okay Mel we can always hunt more wolves don't worry" he tried to diffuse the situation
"But brother! it took us hours to collect this much hide for our quest" she couldn't accept handing over her hard earned loot to someone else. "I'd rather die before I hand anything over" she declared.
Hearing this the group of guild members smirked as they pulled out their weapons.
For a moment Wyatt considered helping the pair of siblings turning the fight into a 3v4 instead but right before he did for some reason he felt like he didn't need to.
5 minutes later Wyatts gut feeling proved to be correct as the two siblings stood in the clearing as the only players remaining.
