Capítulo 70: I want to see, beyond the truth
Touya and Cheren turned to see Bel, while Touya had his expectation to the maximum.
"B-Bel, where does all that energy come from?" Cheren said a little nervous and flushed remembering the conversation just recently.
"I have something to tell you!" Bel said with a red face and determination as he steeled himself.
But before continuing she sent a inquisitive look at Touya, who was looking at the situation with great interest.
"Touya! A moment of privacy please!" Bel said pointing at Touya ashamed but also seriously.
Touya was a bit surprised due to Bel's serious gaze, and was even scared when later she changed into a threatening one so he only walked a few meters away and looked away.
"Further!, and don't even think about turning around!" Bel said with a completely serious and threatening tone causing Touya to move away a lot more and Cheren to be very confused by the situation.
Touya tried very hard not to turn to look, so he pulled Krookodile out of his pokeball and gave him a very important order.
"Dude, don't let me look back" Touya said to Krookodile who looked back and understood the situation.
Krookodile held Touya so that he couldn't see while he saw the whole situation and his face changed from surprised to happy to shocked among others.
"You're doing it on purpose right?" Touya asked Krookodile impatiently while he was smiling innocently.
After a few minutes of total impatience, Krookodile stopped holding Touya and returned to his pokeball causing him to turn around quickly to find an adorable scene.
In front of Touya were Cheren and Bel, both holding hands with a slightly flushed face and looking away, making Touya smile widely just by looking at them.
"D-don't you dare to do a sarcastic comment" Cheren said with a warning tone and a flushed face.
"T-there is nothing left, I achieved everything I wanted on this trip!" Bel said a little blushing but very happy with all her achievements.
"I definitely learned a lot more than just reading about it" Cheren said with a calm smile.
"I already want to investigate the mysteries of the world together with Professor Encina! It will be very fun and exciting!" Bel said with expectation and excitement for heaven.
"I guess some things never change" Cheren said with a nervous smile seeing Bel's spirits.
"Don't be like that, smile bored" Bel said throwing a little tantrum as she put her fingers in Cheren's mouth forming a smile.
"Hey I'm not boring though Touya said the same but I'm sure it was a joke" Cheren said as Bel kept teasing him.
But their conversation was interrupted by a sound.
*Sniff**Sniff*
Bel and Cheren looked straight ahead and saw Touya crying as he covered his face with his cap.
"Hey Touya, why are you crying?" Cheren said with concern as he moved closer to Touya.
"*Sniff* because I'm an idiot, an idiot for thinking of separating the pokemon from their family, an idiot for wanting to deny the opportunity to others to grow up with them like you and to be that happy" Touya said while cleaning himself the tears with a tired, sad and annoyed tone with himself.
"What should I do? I want a better world for the pokemon, but they have family, people who consider them that way, do I fight against N or do I help him? Why do I have to be the one to decide? I'm just an idiot who can't see beyond the truth, just a white color in a world of all colors" Touya said while still crying and holding his head with a thousand questions in frustration.
"It shouldn't be me the chosen one, someone else should choose, someone better, someone who deserves it" Touya said as he continued to cry even more and sank into his frustration.
Such frustration blocked Touya's thoughts and he could only repeat in his mind, 'what is the best?, what should I choose?'
But suddenly, Touya felt someone hug him warmly.
"Of course you deserve it Touya, you deserve that and much more, you are a good person, so much so that you forgot what you wanted without noticing it for the happiness of others, so much that you doubted, so much that you got frustrated all this time in silence so that we did not worry about you "Bel said as she hugged Touya with a calm and comforting tone.
Touya stopped crying for a moment and then he felt a hand on his shoulder.
"'The world is full of grays and shades, not everything is black and white', friend, you do not have only two decisions, you can choose more, whatever makes you happy, even if you are only a white color, you are totally free to choose" Cheren said also in a calm and comforting tone.
Touya was quite surprised by their words and smiled subtly as he hugged Bel and Cheren back and was still crying softly.
Unconscious to them, the light stone in Touya's bag lit up more than ever, even without Touya's touching it.
And after a while, Touya finally calmed down enough to speak.
"Thank you" Touya said with a small smile as he wiped the tears from his eyes and cheeks.
"It was a pleasure dude, and tell me, do you know what you want?" Cheren said calmly and without putting any pressure.
"I want a better world, but not in the way that N wants, I will become a champion and change the world in a way that makes everyone happy, the way that I and only I believe, after all not It's wrong to be a little selfish" Touya said with complete assurance and determination in his words and a completely serious look.
"We support you!" Bel said with a big, excited and determined smile.
"Count with me" Cheren said also with a confident smile.
"I'm grateful to have agreed to play with you that day" Touya said with a big happy, confident smile and for the first time without any hesitation.
"Tomorrow will be a difficult day, we should go to the pokemon center, it is already getting dark" said Cheren as he watched as the sun set completely.
They all started walking towards Opelucid city again until Bel remembered something.
"Buahhhh it's true!, I still don't have the legend badge!" Bel said remembering that little detail all of a sudden as he walked.
"You'll have to go tomorrow, you need it to go to the league and it's too late, don't worry I'll go with you" said Cheren as he took Bel's hand lovingly and she looked at him moved.
"*Pfffff* I know you are a couple now but don't brag, it makes me feel lonely" Touya said dramatically and with a low tone as he watched the two of them walk together.
"Get a girlfriend Touya" they both said at the same time while still holding hands.
Touya felt an arrow pierce through his heart and dramatically clutched his chest.
"That was a low blow, too low, I think I'm going to cry again" Touya said dramatically as he cried comically.
And after this, this day ends, in which Touya finally discovered his own truth.
