Richard Rutherford, that is the name I was given in this world when I reincarnated. Though I was not aware I was thrust into the Pokemon World until a few months after I was born when I was out for a stroll with my mother in the garden and I saw a Pidove flying at a low altitude in the area.
I was quite shocked, though not as shocked as I was initially at my rebirth. I wasn't shocked because I missed my old life or something like that, I was just shocked that some of the fanfics I used to read in my spare time were accurate and I thank Arceus I was able to have a second chance at life and the fact that I have the exact same appearance I did in my old life. Blue Eyes, Short Blonde Hair, Oval Shaped Face. Quite Handsome though not overly, it is enough to turn some heads and get a girl with minimal effort. I am slightly taller than my previous life by about 2 inches, so that makes me a shade over 6' feet tall.
My old life was good as I was a Local Celebrity(News Anchor), but my natural lifespan ended due to you know a bomb. This current life is quite nice, though it is much more dangerous than the games/anime/manga let on. Realistically speaking I don't have to be a trainer as my family has plenty of money and I can take over the family corporation if I want. Though if I am being serious I got reborn in one of my favorite worlds, 100% I will become a trainer and aim to be the best I can before taking over my family business by age 30. Which was agreed upon by my Family and I at the tender age of 7 when I decided I wanted to be a trainer like Gramps.
In these last 17 years I learned a lot, like many fanfics I read this world is an alternate one. The Unova Region where I was reborn currently has Ten Major Gyms. Which are:
Aspertia City-Normal | Virbank City-Poison
Striaton City-Mix | Castelia-Bug
Nimbasa-Electric | Driftveil-Ground
Mistralton-Flying | Icirrus-Ice | Opelucid-Dragon | Humilau-Water
Unova also has several other official gyms that are in other towns and cities that were not named during the games or anime, such as the Dark Type Gym in Nuvema Town. The Nacrene City Normal Type Gym closed down last year, though the city still has a fighting dojo that the League Authorities in Unova will recognize as a gym within the next year.
During the academy we learned that trainer death rate is fairly high at 1/6th new trainers die within the year. At the academy we also learned the usual regional and world history, money management, how to manage/tame wild pokemon, how to catch pokemon, type match up, moves pokemon can learn.
Survival training and how to make a campsite were included in the 6 year training(ages 10-16). Pokemon battles were also learned during the academy, though we were only able to use Academy Managed Pokemon so we got a feel for different types of Pokemon.
That was actually one of the reasons I delayed my journey for a year. I wanted time to prepare and bond with my starter as well as train the starter to a good level.
The five classifications of Pokemon Ranks(Levels) are Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Elite and Champion. Which are further divided into Lower, Upper and Peak class. The five ranks of Pokemon are also used for trainers.

Most trainers make sure their starters are out of the Low-Class Beginner Rank(1-9) before they begin their Journey.
A unique thing I learned at the Academy is that you can challenge most gyms in any order you want, though some gyms like Opelucid and Icirrus require at least 6 badges before they accept a challenge.
When you challenge a Gym they have this Machine(Black Tech) that estimates your Pokemon's Strength and then face you with Pokemon of a similar Strength Level. Such as if I Challenge the Aspertia City Gym with my Gallade they will send out a Pokemon of Similar Strength which is the Upper Class Intermediate Rank. In terms of Game Levels that would be 29-38.
This is done to ensure everyone who attempts the gym challenge get a fair shot at winning badges.
Since this world is an Alternate one, I havent heard of any Major Syndicates like Team Plasma in Unova, Praise Arceus. Though there are some minor ones, nothing too major like in Kanto's Team Rocket yet.
When I was first contemplating my Team after graduation last year I thought it would be good to get a Rock Type Pokemon to cover the flying type weakness Gallade has. So I chose to catch a Pokemon from the Gigalith Line during an excursion to Chargestone Cave, which is Northeast of Aspertia when I went out with the Butler Simon a little over two months ago. So I caught a Boldore whose currents status is:

Level: 30(Upper Class Intermediate)
Ability: Sturdy
Talent: Gold
Moves: Power Gem(E), Headbutt(E), Iron Defense(A), Rock Blast(E), Mud-Slap(A), Rock Slide
Innate: Lock-On(E)
TM: Rock Polish
I havent put alot of training into this Pokemon like I did with my Gallade but I should be able to get it into a Gigalith in about six months.
From what I learned in school, A Boldore evolves into Gigalith through absorbing enough Rock Energy or in after training/battling in a Mountainous/Cave Eviornment with dense Rock Energy such as deep within Chargestone Cave.
With my rebirth, like in those fanfics I read I have a unique gift, that gift is Appraisal which allows me to get a clear and in depth look at the Stats of Pokemon and Items. Seeing the talent of a Pokemon is probably the only useful thing about this gift. It's better than no gift though.
I have also wondered if there are other like me who were reborn here and if they have the same gift that I do.
What would I do if I met a reincarnator? Would I know? Would they know? I guess I'll find out eventually.
For the next two weeks before League starts I am having both my Pokemon work on training moves, specifically Rock Slide for Boldore and Psycho Cut/Swords Dance for Gallade. Though they will touch up a Majority of their moves to make sure they are battle ready.
I should also have both of them fight the Butler's old Pokemon.
