Clap, clap, clap!
After resolving the situation that had stumped the entire Whitebeard Pirates crew in just fifteen minutes, Dak was met with sincere applause. He had dealt with each Pokémon in an average of ten seconds.
"As expected of the King of Pokémon!"
"The Alliance Leader is truly impressive."
"He's so strong."
"I could never learn this in my lifetime."
"More awesome than burning."
"What a boss!"
"This is true authority."
The Whitebeard Pirates were in awe.
Slap.
Dak slapped his forehead.
What he had done was basic knowledge that every novice Pokémon Trainer in the Pokémon world knew—things that didn't even reach Level 1 breeding skills.
"Didn't you buy the Pokédex? Can't you use it to check these things?"
Dak looked at Marco and Thatch, who stood beside him.
"The Pokédex?"
"Oh, that tablet? Namur took it to pick his teeth."
"…"
Dak was speechless.
Using a Pokédex to pick teeth? That fishman named Namur must have some big gaps between his teeth.
After another fifteen minutes of instruction, the more intelligent members of the Whitebeard Pirates finally understood how to use the Pokédex.
"Wow, this thing is amazing."
"Yeah, if we had this before, we wouldn't have been so embarrassed."
"Look! I found it! Happiny's two evolutions are so chubby."
"No wonder Happiny likes to hold a stone in its pouch."
The crew gathered again, chatting excitedly.
"Dak, why can't we find Darkrai and Giratina in this?"
"Because they're too rare."
Dak didn't directly say that these two were "Legendary Pokémon."
He didn't plan to promote the concept of "Legendary Pokémon" in the One Piece world just yet.
"Huh?"
"There are many Pokémon species that haven't been discovered yet. The ones in the Pokédex are just the ones known so far."
Dak gave another explanation, which was also true.
"What? Even you don't know?"
"Yes, in the world where Pokémon were born, new Pokémon are still being discovered. So, the types of Pokémon are endless. The same Pokémon species might have multiple evolutions. You'll learn more by looking at the Pokédex."
Dak wasn't shy about admitting this, as he believed it was nothing to be ashamed of.
In the future, as people study Pokémon more, they will surpass his knowledge. Lying now would only cause problems later.
"Alright then. By the way, Dak, can you take a look at this kid? He doesn't seem very energetic."
Thatch led Dak to Jozu, who was holding a seemingly weak little creature.
Dak looked at Jozu's large frame, using his psychic power to float up and look closer.
This was the purple-quality Pokémon.
An Aron.
A small, silver-white creature with dull, blue eyes.
"Hungry."
Dak immediately identified Aron's problem.
He was no longer a novice breeder; though not a master yet, he was a Level 4 breeder, considered a high-level breeder. At Level 7, he could be considered an experienced breeder. At Level 10, he would be a master.
"Huh? But I've been feeding him, and he doesn't eat."
Thatch was puzzled, pulling out a specially made cake and offering it to Aron.
The little guy turned his head away, showing resistance.
"Check the Pokédex more often. This little guy is made of steel, so he eats iron and similar materials."
Dak tapped Aron's head gently.
It wasn't as hard as expected, with a softness that could be pressed down with force.
This was because Aron was still in its juvenile stage. Once it matured, its armor would become much harder.
The hardness of its armor depended on how much iron it consumed during its juvenile stage.
Dak explained this to Thatch and Jozu, who listened intently. As a father figure, Whitebeard also came over to listen, valuing his sons' growth.
"Blamenco!"
Whitebeard called out to Blamenco after hearing Dak's explanation.
"?"
Blamenco looked confused, sensing something ominous.
What happened next was no longer Dak's concern; it seemed to be Blamenco's fate.
Upon returning to the Breeding House, Dak remembered something due to this incident.
"Let's get Perona a partner, and also Robin. Having only Miltank might be a bit challenging for her when teaching."
Dak rubbed his chin and opened the PokéMall, searching under the Pokémon category.
Robin needed a Pokémon to assist in teaching. Such Pokémon were rare, usually those with special abilities.
Choosing between Porygon and Rotom, Dak opted for the latter.
(Porygon on the left, Rotom on the right)
Porygon was best suited for virtual and electronic worlds, though it could exist in reality, it seemed out of place there.
Robin preferred books to electronics, making Porygon a poor match for her.
Rotom, however, was versatile.
It could enter the Pokédex to assist in teaching, speak human language, and control various household appliances.
Dak spent 4,000 Pokémon Coins on a blue-quality Level 30 Rotom, about fifty years old.
He didn't scrutinize much.
Rotom's job was to help Robin teach, not fight, so its combat ability and quality were irrelevant, only its knowledge was important.
According to the PokéMall description, this Rotom loved learning and had amassed a lot of theoretical knowledge over fifty years, making it a good match for Robin.
"Rotom~"
Rotom appeared with blue sparks, greeting Dak.
"Hello, Rotom. Follow me."
Dak looked at the sparking Rotom, remembering that in the original series, Rotom spoke because it entered the Pokédex.
It used the Pokédex to produce human speech, not Rotom itself.
Dak led Rotom to the workshop, found a Pokédex, and let Rotom enter it.
"Hello~ Dak~"
Each Rotom had a different personality.
Most liked to prank, Ash's Rotom was more innocent and obedient, and Dak's was calm and collected.
Though all had electronic voices, the personal emotion was strong, making it clear this Rotom was scholarly.
"Hello, Rotom."
"Are you my trainer?"
"Nope."
Dak shook his head, leading Rotom out of the workshop, pointing to Robin reading a Pokédex book in the store.
"She is."
"Can I greet her?"
"Of course. Robin loves reading and learning. You'll be great partners."
"I like, learning."
Rotom nodded, cautiously approaching Robin.
"Hmm?"
Robin, though engrossed in her book, was instinctively aware of her surroundings from years of experience.
She immediately noticed Rotom approaching.
She looked curiously at the strange-looking Pokémon, then at Dak.
"Robin, this is Rotom. It will assist you in teaching."
"Rotom?"
Robin was surprised, recognizing the Pokémon.
However, Rotom's current form didn't match what she saw in books.
"It's in Pokédex form now."
Rotom waved and greeted Robin.
"I see, it can control appliances. Hello, Rotom, I'm Nico Robin, call me Robin. This is Miltank, my partner."
Robin shook Rotom's hand and hugged Miltank on her lap.
"Miltank~"
Miltank waved, smiling at its new partner.
Miltank wasn't the baby it used to be, now noticeably plumper. Dak wondered if Robin's thick thighs could bear the weight.
"Leader~"
Monet's voice made Dak shiver.
A sickly sweet tone.
Since hanging out with Gardevoir, Monet had become somewhat of a 'green tea' character.
"What do you want?"
"I want an assistant Pokémon too."
Monet looked enviously at Robin and Rotom, her research was also tough.
"Alright, I forgot. My apologies."
Dak realized this.
While Porygon couldn't help Robin, it could assist Monet. Porygon's computational power far exceeded human brains and Rotom, making it top-tier for research.
Monet, who would head the research department, would benefit greatly from Porygon's help, saving a lot of calculation time.
So Dak spent 10,000 Berries on a blue-quality Level 30 Porygon2.
This Pokémon was less communicative than Rotom.
Porygon2's intelligence was too high, its thoughts too advanced, so its actions and words were often incomprehensible to humans, leaving Monet to interact with it gradually.
Then, Dak asked Perona what kind of Pokémon she wanted.
She wanted a cute little bear.

While Monet and Robin were getting to know their new assistant partners, Dak had found Perona, who was studying Pokémon referee-related knowledge.
This included but was not limited to rules for various competitions such as battle tournaments, coordination contests, breeding competitions, and fishing tournaments. This required a lengthy study period, not including practical experience.
Dak, unfamiliar with this area himself, had bought some books from the PokéMall for Perona.
"What kind of partner do you want, Perona?" Dak asked as he approached her.
He thought having a Pokémon companion might make the tedious learning process more bearable, much like how some guys believe having a girlfriend would help them focus better in class.
"Pokémon?" Perona blinked her round eyes, furrowing her brows. She hesitated before saying, "I used to see girls my age holding dolls, like little lambs or other plushies…"
Perona didn't continue, but Dak could sense her envy and desire.
This reminded him of the small bear plush, Kumashi, that Perona often held in the original story.
"I understand."
Dak smiled, patting the two pink buns on Perona's head. Likely, Robin or Monet had styled her hair like this since others in the store didn't have the skill.
He immediately opened the PokéMall, searching for a suitable Pokémon under the "bear" category.
"Let's go with this one."
Dak mumbled, selecting a Pokémon egg.
For 5,000 Pokémon Coins, a purple-quality, pink-brown Pokémon egg appeared in his hands.
"Here you go."
Dak handed the warm egg to Perona.
"For me?"
Perona, still a bit dazed, cradled the egg in her arms.
"Yes, take good care of it. This little guy might be quite strong."
After all, it's a bear.
"I will! I'll take good care of him," Perona promised, smiling at the egg in her arms.
She finally had her own Pokémon. She had been secretly envious of everyone else in the store having Pokémon partners, even though she didn't show it.
"This little one should hatch in about two weeks. When the egg starts to glow, come find me or your sister Robin."
Dak thought for a moment.
Typically, Pokémon eggs take a month to hatch, but the store's sun lamps speed up the process to two weeks.
"Got it!"
Perona noted the timeframe.
Dak then wandered around the Breeding House, pondering if there was anything else he had forgotten.
"Ah, right, this thing."
While roaming the store, Dak remembered a special item in his system backpack.
He took out the item and walked outside.
"Robin, can you take a look at this fruit and see what it is?"
Dak handed Robin the Snow-Snow Fruit given to him by Doflamingo.
He had been so busy that he had almost forgotten about it.
"Another Devil Fruit? I'm not sure…" Robin examined the fruit but couldn't identify it.
It had been ten years since she last studied the Devil Fruit encyclopedia, and not all Devil Fruits were documented.
For instance, the Dung-Dung Fruit might exist but wasn't listed in the encyclopedia for unknown reasons. No one wanted to research it.
Truth be told, if one could overcome the psychological hurdle, the Dung-Dung Fruit would be terrifying.
Enemies might not be able to handle it, causing magical damage. Imagine Blackbeard, who ate the Dark-Dark Fruit, encountering a Dung-Dung user: one devouring dung, the other spewing it.
Its attack might be low, but its insult level would be sky-high.
Damn, better not think about it anymore; it's nauseating.
"This is the Devil Fruit Doflamingo brought as payment for our deal. I don't think he would deceive us."
Dak believed Doflamingo wouldn't dare trick them.
Doflamingo feared death, especially after witnessing the power of the Pokémon Alliance and knowing they could obliterate his entire family.
"There's still uncertainty."
Robin didn't trust Doflamingo.
In her view, underground leaders couldn't be trusted because honest ones couldn't survive there.
True, Doflamingo only kept promises with stronger beings.
"Let Monet decide."
Dak decided to let Monet choose whether or not to eat the Devil Fruit.
When informed, Monet immediately agreed to eat it.
"I'm too weak now. I don't want to always stay in the Breeding House. I want the power to protect Gardevoir and everyone outside, even if it's not the Snow-Snow Fruit. Any fruit can strengthen me."
Monet was pragmatic.
While Logia Devil Fruits were the quickest way to gain power, other fruits could also make one a notable figure in the Four Seas.
Even a simple Zoan fruit could make someone a powerful force.
Special Paramecia fruits might also offer unique abilities.
"If you're sure, go ahead."
Dak handed the fruit to Monet.
Without hesitation, she took a bite, then froze in place.
Dak waited, curious to see her reaction.
However, she showed no expression, standing there like a statue, even dropping the fruit.
She had crashed.
Dak tapped her forehead, and she rebooted.
"What's wrong, Leader?"
Monet looked at Dak curiously, as if she had forgotten something.
Dak didn't recall Devil Fruits causing memory loss. He pointed to the fruit on the ground.
"Oh, when did I bite it?"
Monet looked down, her memory slowly returning.
She still didn't recall eating the fruit.
"That's not important. Monet, try using your ability."
Dak didn't expect the fruit to trigger Monet's body's auto-protect mechanism, erasing painful memories.
The crucial question was whether she had eaten the Snow-Snow Fruit.
"Okay."
Monet focused.
Snowflakes began to drift in the workshop, and Monet turned into a snowwoman.
"Good, it is the Snow-Snow Fruit. Monet, try creating a door with your ability."
Just as Dak suspected, Doflamingo hadn't tampered with it.
The Snow-Snow Fruit had returned to its original owner.
"Sure."
Monet gathered snowflakes to form a white snow door.
Dak pushed it, and it crumbled.
"This won't work. Make it sturdier, like ice. Or control it to open."
"I can control it."
Monet formed another door, opening it without touching it.
"In future dangers, you can use this door to return to the Breeding House. Always carry a pocket token."
"Got it! Leader, look, I can fly now."
Monet transformed her lower body into a white snow flow, hovering mid-air, similar to Crocodile's flying method.
"When researching, practice your abilities with Gardevoir."
"Okay! I'll tell her this good news when she returns."
Gardevoir was in Water 7, protecting those distributing Pokémon eggs, returning only in the evenings.
...
The next day, an old friend visited: Mihawk.
This time, he had two Pokémon.
He held a Psyduck and had a Slowpoke resting on his head.
The Slowpoke was the baby hatched from Mihawk's pink egg.
Dak suspected as much when he saw Mihawk draw a pink egg.
Mihawk seemed to attract unique Pokémon.
He now had two of the three 'dumb' Pokémon.
At that moment:
Psyduck: "Psy?"
Slowpoke: "Slow…"
The two 'dumbs' were communicating.
Dak's psychic abilities sensed no emotion from them.
"I know, I brought you here to buy stuff."
Mihawk was talking to Psyduck and Slowpoke.
Dak: "?"
How did he manage that?
If he wasn't mistaken, Slowpoke was less than a day old.
"Dak, what's this kid called? Looks like Psyduck."
"Slowpoke."
"Oh."
