"The rules are 1v1, no items may be used by either side during the battle, and the battle ends when one side is unable to continue fighting."

"Trainers, please proceed to the command podium."

Dak acted as the referee for the match, a role he likely wouldn't fill often in the future as the Pokémon League was no longer as understaffed as before.

With Dak's announcement, Monet and Sugar entered a four-square-meter area which then began to rise, eventually stopping at a height of five meters.

This elevation was necessary due to the large venue, ensuring the trainers could see the action and that their commands could be heard by their Pokémon through microphones on the command podium.

"Let the battle begin!"

With both trainers ready, Dak declared the start of the match.

"Gardevoir, use Misty Terrain, Shadow Clone."

The first to act wasn't the energetic Sugar but the usually gentle Monet.

"Garde," the elegant Gardevoir responded, her hands waving to release a dense fog that covered the arena, followed by numerous shadow clones of Gardevoir appearing within the mist.

"Mmm," Mismagius murmured, her lips pursed as the environment became challenging for her to discern which Gardevoir was real.

The audience, captivated by Gardevoir's abilities, erupted into cheers and astonishment.

"Wow!"

"So many Gardevoirs! Is this heaven?"

"They can even alter the environment."

"Amazing."

Many spectators glanced at the Pokémon eggs they held, their excitement palpable about what type of Pokémon might hatch from them.

"It's almost like they've eaten a Devil Fruit."

"I wonder if Observation Haki could distinguish the real one outside this island."

"Indeed, the most powerful here on Pokémon Island are the Pokémon. If we plan to stay, we need to make our Pokémon stronger; we humans are too weak here."

Even the seasoned warriors among the audience had their thoughts.

In fact, Shadow Clone could be detected by Observation Haki, but with their powers suppressed on Pokémon Island, they were unable to utilize Haki and thus couldn't discern this fact.

"Mismagius, use Magical Leaf!"

Sugar was no fool.

She had diligently studied Mismagius's abilities at night. Magical Leaf could track enemies and hit all clones, revealing the real Gardevoir.

Without hesitation, Mismagius's purple gown fluttered as she released a flurry of green leaves that dispersed across the arena, striking every Gardevoir shadow.

"Magical Flame!"

Monet wasn't about to let Sugar dominate the match. As Mismagius used Magical Leaf, she commanded Gardevoir to counter with Magical Flame.

The flames burned through the incoming leaves and continued towards Mismagius, the heat causing the surrounding fog to churn.

"Spectral Thief!"

Sugar reacted quickly, Mismagius vanishing from sight, using its ability to dodge and counter.

This maneuver caused a stir among the audience.

"Can Mismagius use that move too?!"

"Is it not a Devil Fruit power, meaning these are inherent abilities of the Pokémon?"

Karasu from the Revolutionary Army was particularly stunned as he had speculated it was the power of the Door-Door Fruit.

Yet, it was a natural Pokémon ability, specifically an ability similar to Giratina's Shadow Force, useful for evading initial attacks and preparing for a counter.

"Now, use Icy Wind!"

Seeing that Gardevoir was recovering, Sugar commanded Mismagius to attack again.

"Gardevoir, use Teleport."

Monet anticipated her sister and Mismagius's strategy, directing Gardevoir to teleport away.

However, Gardevoir's reaction was slower, and she still suffered partial damage from the Icy Wind.

This highlighted the different upbringing of the two Pokémon. Mismagius, always on alert, might not match Gardevoir in health but exceeded in cunning and speed.

"Gardevoir, use Heal Pulse."

Monet noticed Gardevoir frosting over and instructed her to use Heal Pulse.

"Garde," Gardevoir responded with a smile, reassuring Monet she was alright before casually casting Heal Pulse. Her hands lifted, sprinkling healing droplets on herself, easing her discomfort.

"Is this Pokémon healing?"

"Such healing skills must be utilized well."

"Indeed, these healing effects are strong, much more effective than battlefield medics."

"Should we consider forming a medical unit with Pokémon capable of such healing abilities, or place them in teams ready for emergencies?"

"Besides, we've seen abilities of ice, thunder, plant, fire, and others yet unknown; it's hard to imagine what else might appear."

The Navy began discussing various ideas and kept an eye on the battle, eager to see new abilities.

They were quickly realizing just how little they knew about Pokémon and their capabilities, not having anticipated the extent of what Pokémon could do before this exhibition match.

"Use Spectral Thief again!"

Sugar saw Gardevoir recovering and, feeling the pressure, instructed Mismagius to dive back into the alternate dimension.

Given Gardevoir's reaction speed, it was challenging to completely evade Mismagius's attacks unless Gardevoir had specific defensive skills.

"Charm Voice."

Monet shifted tactics, opting for Gardevoir to use Charm Voice to attack defensively.

As soon as Mismagius appeared, it would be hit by the attack, although the damage was not severe.

"Stick to her, then use Dark Pulse!"

"Mmm!" Mismagius appeared directly in front of Gardevoir this time, conjuring a dark orb and shooting it directly at Gardevoir's face.

"Garde!"

Caught off-guard while singing, Gardevoir was hit squarely by the Dark Pulse, the impact knocking her back.

"Gardevoir is unable to battle; the winners are Sugar and Mismagius!"

Dak quickly appeared to announce the end of the match.

As the platforms lowered, Monet rushed to Gardevoir's side.

"It's okay, Gardevoir. We'll win next time."

Monet soothed her partner, gently stroking her hair.

Meanwhile, Sugar celebrated with Mismagius.

"Great job, Mismagius! You're amazing!"

Sugar hugged Mismagius like a koala, causing the Pokémon to push her away slightly, though with a small smile.

Dak nodded, pleased. The battle had undoubtedly strengthened the bond between the trainers and their Pokémon. Sugar and Mismagius seemed particularly well-suited for competitive battles.

"Now, this Pokémon battle is over. Please take a fifteen-minute break. Afterward, my three partners will demonstrate just what Pokémon are capable of."

Dak made a brief announcement and left, giving the audience time to discuss the battle and prepare for the upcoming demonstration.

He was now more focused on his task panel.

[Main Quest: Breeding Lesson Seven – Battle, Completed]

[Reward: First Generation Poké Ball Manufacturing Machine]

The manufacturing machine was placed in the production room for Monet to study.

Dak was eager to see what the next main quest would be.

Dak didn't have time to analyze the abstractness of the new mission and its rewards; the main event was about to start.

After Giratina's battle, Dak needed to announce matters related to the Pokémon School. The new mainline mission could obviously leverage the Pokémon School to speed up completion.

The upcoming battle between Giratina, Darkrai, and Sceptile was purely for show.

The battle between Gardevoir and Mismagius could be considered a real fight, no different from a standard Pokémon battle.

But Giratina and the others were different.

The power levels of the three Pokémon were vastly different, making it impossible to have an evenly matched fight.

The world rules of Pokémon Island closely resembled the original Pokémon world. Pokémon could only be compared to other Pokémon, unlike the world of One Piece, which had humans, Sea Kings, Fishmen, and other various creatures, requiring a universal template to estimate levels.

Thus, Pokémon on Pokémon Island could fully display their true levels without considering other creatures or races.

Giratina was at Lv. 95, Sceptile at Lv. 90, and Darkrai at Lv. 85.

Judging by the levels alone, it seemed like Giratina > Sceptile > Darkrai.

But true battle strength couldn't be calculated that way.

If Giratina and Darkrai were replaced with two non-legendary Pokémon, then level alone could estimate their battle strength. Even if they were replaced with Mega Tyranitar or Mega Metagross, if Sceptile's level was higher, then Sceptile would be stronger.

But Giratina and Darkrai were not ordinary Pokémon.

In fact, they weren't just Pokémon; they were 'gods' created by Arceus.

Their appearance and abilities shared many similarities with other Pokémon, so humans classified them as a type of Pokémon.

Thus, applying the standard Pokémon level template to these legendary Pokémon couldn't accurately calculate their battle strength.

The main reason was their unique roles, each with exclusive skills and special abilities specific to their legendary status.

If Darkrai didn't use Nightmare Force or Dark Void, then yes, the Pokémon template could apply to him, and his Lv. 85 would mean Lv. 85 strength, and he would lose to Sceptile.

But without using these special abilities, how could they intimidate the people of the sea?

To make them understand what 'transcendence' is, they had to use unimaginable powers to show them what 'insurmountable' means.

A prime example was Mihawk.

Even with Sceptile being so strong, Mihawk would still want to pursue, challenge, and see Sceptile as a target, thinking he could defeat Sceptile.

That's the difference between 'gods' and Pokémon.

But if Giratina and Darkrai went all out, it would look something like this:

Giratina >> Darkrai >= Sceptile, and Giratina > Darkrai + Sceptile.

No matter how the battle played out, it wouldn't be an evenly matched, spectacular fight, hence calling it a performance.

Dak's idea was clear: let Darkrai and Sceptile fight Giratina together.

Currently, the outside world's perception of the peak strength of the Breeding House was Darkrai and Sceptile. Everyone knew they were strong, but not how strong, because no one, except someone like Mihawk, wanted to try.

This battle would show everyone the strength of Darkrai and Sceptile.

However, they would also see Giratina performing even better, handling a two-on-one battle.

If Darkrai and Sceptile were powerful enough to dominate the world, who could stand against the even stronger Giratina?

Then everyone would understand why Dak made such bold claims before the match.

And the world government?

What about them?

After the intermission, Dak appeared above the battlefield again, drawing everyone's attention.

"Now, let's start our second match."

"Please welcome my three companions, Darkrai, Sceptile, and Giratina!"

As the voice faded from the loudspeakers, the three Pokémon entered the field in different ways.

Sceptile leaped in from outside the arena.

Yes, it jumped over the tens of meters high wall and hundreds of meters of spectator seats, landing in the center of the battlefield, stirring up a massive wind that rustled the surrounding grass.

Darkrai appeared much more low-key, silently emerging from a shadow on the field.

Most people didn't even notice Darkrai's appearance until those around them pointed it out.

Giratina made the grandest entrance, appearing the same way it had vanished earlier.

A huge dragon head with glowing blue eyes suddenly materialized in mid-air, startling many. Some timid Pokémon among the Navy were frightened.

Some Pokémon opened their mouths and cried, while others had stress reactions.

For instance, a Koffing that had barely controlled its gas release suddenly let out a large amount of gas.

Smoker couldn't use his Smoke-Smoke Fruit ability to control the gas at the moment.

Fortunately, the other Navy members had anticipated this and sat far from Smoker and Koffing, so the gas quickly dissipated into the sky without harming anyone.

Compared to the 200-meter-long Giratina, Darkrai and Sceptile looked tiny.

In fact, everyone looked tiny before Giratina, even Whitebeard.

Giratina's size wasn't just about being large.

Sea Kings were just big.

But Giratina was not just big; its aura and power were immense.

Facing Sea Kings and Giratina were entirely different experiences.

"The match begins. This battle will see Darkrai and Sceptile team up against Giratina, and it will end when a point is reached."

The rules for this battle were clearly different from the previous one, where it went until one side lost the ability to fight.

Dak would have to stop the battle at the right time.

Since they were his Pokémon, Giratina and the others would listen to Dak.

Especially since none of the three Pokémon had the kind of personality that would lose control. Giratina looked fierce but was actually a big softy, Darkrai was incredibly steady, and Sceptile could calmly control its emotions.

Each Pokémon would throw out a few moves to get by.

"Begin the battle!"

"Roar!"

Giratina was the first to attack.

It opened with a devastating Hyper Beam!

A dark purple beam, hundreds of meters wide, shot out instantly, with no charge time.

As Giratina's Hyper Beam blasted out, it seemed to absorb half the light in the world, making everything appear dimmer. The audience's eyes were fixated on the dark purple beam.

Many people's eyes began to water from the intense light, but they still stared in awe at the scene before them.

Borsalino swallowed hard.

"Dak."

Blizzard.

Darkrai raised both hands, summoning a small ice-blue tornado.

As the small tornado hit the ground, it expanded into a massive blizzard, hundreds of meters high, with countless hailstones causing endless destruction.

Had Dak not anticipated this and prepared a void barrier to absorb these moves, the entire arena, and a ten-kilometer radius around it, would have been frozen.

At this moment, the audience couldn't see the battlefield; all they saw was the endless snowstorm. The world turned from dim to a deathly white.

Though they couldn't feel the damage or cold from the blizzard, the sight alone left an indelible impression on their minds.

Aokiji's mouth hung open.

Darkrai's move was impressive but couldn't stop Giratina's Hyper Beam.

Now it was Sceptile's turn.

Or rather, Sceptile had been preparing since Darkrai's move, but now it was ready to act.

"Cha!"

Solar Beam!

The yellow beads on Sceptile's back glowed brightly, piercing through the blizzard, catching the audience's attention.

Then, an incredibly hot white beam shot towards the dark purple beam.

The intense heat slowed the blizzard, melting countless snowflakes and hailstones, filling the arena with steam. The sight alone made everyone sweat.

Sakazuki's pupils trembled.

Boom!

With Darkrai's blizzard weakening the Hyper Beam, Sceptile's Solar Beam managed to hold it off.

Even so, the clash caused a massive explosion, with heat waves creating ripples on the void barrier.

Without using their unique abilities and exclusive moves, Sceptile's strength was sufficient.

The three Pokémon paused the battle, understanding the purpose of this fight.

Darkrai then used Dark Void to absorb the steam, clearing the view for the audience.

Even Dak was curious about the destruction these three could cause.

As for repairing the arena, that was a built-in feature, so Dak didn't have to worry. Otherwise, fixing the arena alone would cost him a significant amount.

After about thirty seconds, the scene became clear again.

Wow!

The audience erupted, staring in awe at the massive crater before them.

The once flat ground was now a depression, dozens of meters deep.

The surrounding area was charred, clearly the result of the explosion's aftermath.
