Capítulo 19: Dinner

Blythe curled up next to me. The small animal gave me a sense of peace as I woke up alone. Carlisle had been missing since dawn and no maids had come inside of the room. I had cooped myself up here until someone came. I didn't want to leave unless someone dragged me outside—Blythe happily snuggled closer to me as I sighed.

The ceiling was beautiful. The bed was soft. The life I lived was one of luxury. I wondered what would happen if I lived as a commoner. My hands were perfect. Unchipped nails, uncalloused hands, it was obvious I was either a noble lady or someone who worked for Richter. Should I try my hand at some hard labor? To seclude myself in the woods didn't sound too horrible. I could gather my own berries, and live off the land—but the constant fear of Richter dragging me back haunted me.

I shivered. The dream that I had haunted me as my fingers touched my eyes, he had always loved the bright red color.
