Capítulo 48: 48. Thunderstorm
Amy felt sad that she had hurt her friends. Lan Xie cheered her up saying that Qian Qian was not one to keep a grudge about these things and that she would forget this before the day ended.
The rest of the day, they could not worry about themselves or others as the teachers held a surprise test. The whole class had to study for ten minutes and then start the test, so everyone got busy.
After school, RuQian offered to drop both Amy and Lan Xie home.
"Shall we go shopping today Qian Qian? We need to get the best dresses and you will be the VIP that day so your dress has to be the bomb." Lan Xie wanted to shop that evening itself.
"Sorry guys, I have plans for today maybe tomorrow. Or we could go this weekend."
Seeing RuQian delaying the shopping plan, Lan Xie shook her head, "No way, we have to go tomorrow itself then."
That's when RuQian remembered an acquaintance, she could use it now. But she was thinking if she should wait, there would be many more chances where she would need to dress up, she did not want to use her chance for this small party.
She might as well buy a normal dress this time. RuQian dropped Lan Xie home and then dropped Amy at her house.
Amy sat in the car fiddling with her bag for a while after the car stopped at her house. She took a deep breath and then let out, "I am sorry Qian Qian, I did not mean to hurt you in anyway. I.. I was j..ju.. just."
"Amy, it's fine, it was my fault too. I know about your financial status and yet I, never mind, let's do this, I will buy you clothes and accessories for now and after you get famous you can buy me clothes. What do you think?"
Amy laughed at Qian Qian's logic, "Okay, if you're so sure I will become famous, why not?"
The duo laughed and joked for a while and then RuQian bid Amy goodbye. She then left for Golden Luxury condominium, she had asked Bai xing to make sure his wife would be home when she arrived.
RuQian had already deposited Bai Xing's first month salary so that they could use the money. They couldn't turn themselves around overnight even with her help.
The family would need some time, RuQian was mainly covering Bai Xing's mother's treatment costs that were draining the couple's bank accounts which would stop now.
They would still need to pay for their debt, Xiao Ruan's school fees and adding in their daily necessities, they wouldn't have a lot left.
Since they were now living in an upper class neighbourhood they would now need to spend in a similar manner for their clothing and accessories. Presentation was always the most important thing, mainly so in higher class societies.
RuQian alighted her car after arriving at the condominium. She entered the building and quickly took the elevator.
RuQian was excited to meet Li Yifei, she had already made a dossier on the woman.
Li Yifei, a woman brought up in the countryside, came to the city for studies along with Bai xing. As opposed to Bai xing, after her graduation, she got a job at Huangzi Entertainment, first as an intern and then slowly worked up to an artist manager.
She was able to help a few actors gain fame but as soon as they rose to fame their manager had been changed to one of the company's older managers.
Though RuQian felt that Li Yifei's skills were better as an assistant, it was not her position to say anything.
Li Yifei got along well with all the actors but she did not have the talent to fight for resources or to control her artists.
She seemed to be more of a friend of the artists. This was why RuQian felt that Li Yifei would be better suited as an assistant.
If all of RuQian's plans went right she was going to make sure Li Yifei could be her assistant in the future but first she would need her as a manager.
As far as RuQian remembered Lu Xu Mei joined Star Entertainment, a rival of Huangzi in her past life. So if she got into Huangzi, she could beat Lu Xu Mei openly.
RuQian knocked on the door of the family's apartment, soon she saw a haggard Bai xing opening the door with hopeful eyes.
RuQian was slightly shocked by his appearance, wasn't he just home the whole day? Why was he so flustered?
Bai xing on the other hand was shocked due to RuQian's appearance. As RuQian came directly from school, she was still in her uniform, a stark contrast to the woman he met the day before.
RuQian looked like an innocent school girl when wearing her uniform. 'What look like? She is a school kid, you idiot.' Bai xing berated himself.
"Miss RuQian, you are finally here. Please come in."
"Any problem? Why do you look like you had to face a thunderstorm?"
"That.."
"Qian Jie[1]!" A little ball came running towards RuQian and leaped into her arms.
After entering the house RuQian saw that the house had really faced a thunderstorm, it looked like the whole house had been ransacked!
