Capítulo 30: Chapter 27 - Return
"Look who decided to finally show up?" I hear a voice as I step foot in the academy. Sigh, I expected this. I haven't known her long, but Dina seems like the gloating type. I turn toward her and surprisingly, she isn't smiling as much as I thought she would. Is that concern? Nope, she's still gloating "You look terrible"
"Yeah. I feel like shit too."
"You lost by default. Our duel was supposed to be three weeks ago."
"I know. I'll do whatever you want. Can we discuss this later? I need a shower."
"Hmm," She nods and walks away from me. Was she always like this? Not that I can really judge if she's changed.
I walk into my dorm and strip. I honestly don't care if there's anyone in here, I just need a shower. I turn it to the hottest temperature it can reach. This temperature would usually cause third-degree burns to an awakener but I barely feel it. A lot happened in the dungeon.
After my talk with Inari, I was transported back to the dungeon. I realised a few things while exploring the dungeon. The shards, crystals, or whatever Inari was talking about. The one that I can use to make a wish. It isn't what I received from the dungeon. This says 1 of 3 parts. If what Inari said is true, I have no reason to not believe her, then there should be more than a million pieces. I won't get anything for three pieces. She doesn't know of the existence of this thing.
It doesn't matter. It should help me in the long run. I accepted the part and it merged with my soul... I think. It gave me a skill.
[Dungeon Breaker -
Active: Increases stats by a certain %age depending on dungeons broken.
Passive: absorbs more energy from the dungeon so the dungeon breaks faster. Duration: 60 minutes.
Cooldown: 6 hours. During cooldown user will be paralysed and this status cannot be avoided or changed. Current dungeons broke: 1]
It's not helpful now since 1% is barely half a stat point but it should become useful in the later stages once I break more than ten dungeons. The cooldown is the only problem though. It's fine. I won't need to use it any time soon.
The other thing is... I don't think I'm human anymore. Yes, I'm inherently human but most of my body isn't. It's only due to the modifications I bought from the system shop I was able to survive.
I should explain that. Once I system fully restored itself I had a chance to choose things from something called a 'System Shop.' It was a temporary feature and had a timer on it. The thing is, normally when this comes up in a novel it's a special event or something. This wasn't it. I think when Eva sacrificed herself it gave me extra power or something? I have no idea but that's what I'm going to go with for now.
It allowed me to choose 12 things from the shop unrestricted. To receive this benefit I had to give up something. I no longer receive stat or skill points. The stat points aren't bad, my ability makes up for that. The skill points... yeah, it's going to be a problem later on. I have to naturally increase my skill levels instead of using skill points.
Anyway, I chose 12 items from the shop and this is why I say I'm no longer human. Apart from the skills, all the modifications I received now count as abilities. Let me just show you. These are my abilities.

Ability: Passive Collector - Allows the user to passively absorb 0.02 stats from the surroundings every hour. STR/DEX/CON/INT/WIS/CHR/MANA/HPREGEN/MPREGEN.
Wings: Phoenix Wings: Flight, Feathered Arrow, Wing Shield, Regeneration
Left Arm: Ice Dragon Arm. Ice and water Manipulation, Regeneration.
Right Arm: Fire Dragon Arm. Fire and Heat manipulation, Regeneration.
Left Leg: Air Dragon Arm. Air manipulation, Regeneration.
Right Leg: Wood Dragon Arm. Wood Creation, Regeneration.
Torso: Mythical Chameleon Torso: Invisibility, allows all magic to be merged and used. Regeneration.

Seems overpowered, doesn't it? It is. It comes with a cost but it's a cost I can afford at the moment. I don't have much control over any of these abilities but I'm getting better. The last one I chose because it has the power to run all the other abilities through my entire body instead of just a specific appendage. As for my original ability. Everything is being increased by 0.02 per hour. I killed a lot of monsters but due to the Kamikaze attack, I'm still paying off the overuse of stats.
I'm not exactly sure how it works but I think once I get enough control over these abilities I can transform into them? I'm not sure, to be honest, and it didn't exactly come with a manual. My system has gone back to normal. The only extra thing I have is the shop that offers basic items and even then, I'm not sure how long it's going to last.

And there goes the water. I sigh as I step out of the shower with no water. Walking to the mirror, I wipe away the, now cold water sticking to it and stare at my reflection. It's different but not by much. My whole body has been improved so even if I have no stats I'm still a threat. With Inari's blessing, I'm already as strong as someone at level 30 and I'll only get stronger the more time I have.
I... I need to be strong. Stronger than anyone has ever been. The only way to bring back Eva is to destroy the toys of the Gods... Hold on, have they ever said Gods? It's only Goddesses or Deities. I wonder why no one mentions the gods anymore.
I push my hair back. It's long. Longer than it was a few weeks ago. The time dilation in the dungeon is most likely the reason... Is time dilation the right word? I'm gonna go with that for now. Anyway, I'm sure the time dilation affected me more than I'm aware of right now. I was there for a few months. The item Ray used to slow down time broke with the way I used it. It wasn't supposed to be used that way for that long and I kind of destroyed it.
I pull all my hair back and tie it into an untidy bun. Eh, not bad. I let go, I don't have a hairband to tie it up yet. I don't bother to change anything. I'm still naked and wet, not horny wet but shower wet. Can dudes even get horny wet?
I have no idea where my towel is and I don't particularly give a fuck. I fall back first into the bed, and the water seeps in. Cold quickly becomes warm so I run my left arm over the bed and it cools down. That's the ice part for now until I learn how to use it.
Seems like I have some kind of instinct with this thing even if I'm not the original owner. It would be kind of cool if this hand was made by the system itself like it can make a legendary arm by itself for free. Heh, nice. Everything that happened since I entered the dungeon quickly replays through my head and I feel my eyes growing heavier. I haven't had a proper night's sleep in forever and it's affecting me.
My eyes close and the world goes dark. Hopefully I don't wake up screaming like normal.

"Could you repeat that?" An ambiguous figure cloaked in a black coat asks, clearly having trouble believing the message they just received.
"Uh, " A male, sweating looks down to the tablet as he rereads the message he received from the higher-ups. "Ray Brightshield is confirmed to be deceased."
"What about the trackers on him?"
"They are all at the guild. They say his partner, Seth, traded them in along with two spatial rings."
"So it was the pheasant that killed him?" The figure does not believe it to be possible.
"It's more likely a monster killed him as Seth is only recently awakened and barely reached level 10"
"You know the shop that does bounties?"
"Yes?"
"Half a million credits for Seth. Only dead. We don't want him alive."
"Understood... Done. Is there anythi-"
Bang!
The messenger falls to the floor, all signs of life gone. In the middle of his forehead, there's a hole still glowing. Whatever hit him was so hot it closed the wound as it left. A clean kill.
"Someone clean this up!" A maid comes into the room and drags away the messenger by the legs.
"This solves nothing." A second figure speaks up, seemingly emerging from the shadows.
"Okay and?"
"We need an heir to survive"
"You can just do it."
"I cannot"
"Why not?"
"I'm dead."
"Right, to the public you died 7 years ago. My bad I forgot."
"Sigh, how are you still alive?"
"Overconfidence."
"Find a solution" The figure disappears into the dark like it was never there. The first figure sighs. He goes to a cupboard, takes out a bottle of alcohol and pours himself a glass. He leaves the glass on the table and drinks the entire bottle within the next ten seconds. He looks to the glass.
"My doctor said only one glass a day." He then downs the glass before disappearing into the shadows like the other figure. He was not having a good day.
