"Ah, that's good then, you had someone to celebrate Little Year with."
People in the South attach great importance to Little Year. They often say 'precious is Little Year eve', meaning the eve of Little Year is more important than Lunar New Year's Eve itself.
Long San chuckled a bit, "My two elder sisters came in the afternoon and brought some cured meat. Overall, it was quite nice."
"What about..." Nan Feng thought of Xue Ling.
He remembered Xue Ling once saying in Wanjing County that she would sneak back to see Long San during festivals. So Nan Feng asked, "Did anyone other than your sisters come to see you?"
"There wasn't anybody else. I saw those who I needed to and those who I shouldn't've.. I had no need to see them," said Long San.
He probably meant Xue Ling by the ones he 'shouldn't've seen'.
As Ye Ge raised his teacup, "Since all that needed to be seen are seen, let's toast with tea instead of wine. Let's drink."
Nan Feng also raised his glass, "Happy Little Year."
