Capítulo 42: CHAPTER 42

XAVIER'S POV

"I love the cold, but I don't appreciate this drop in temperature, at all."

I snickered at what Ophelia said. Who preferred this, any way. I just checked the weather forecast and it predicted a hurricane due to the currents of this windstorm. I didn't tell this to Ophelia.

She would definitely freak out. We were probably stuck here for the evening. I just hope, the weather gets back to normal so that we can drive back home at night.

Our parents were going to ask questions. No doubt about that. We just had to make believable excuses. We could think about that later.

Right now, I had to focus on drying the hoodie that Ophe-clumsy-lia, ruined.

HALF AN HOUR AGO

"I can get my hoodie on my own. Thank you very much, Mr. Pervert."

The temperature was dropping rapidly, and the heater in our room would switch on and off on its own. That, apparently, was too scary for Ophelia and she asked me to turn it off. So, now she wanted to wear the hoodie she found in the car.

She slipped it on and got up from the couch. She sauntered over to the kitchen like a temptress.

"I'm making some coffee for myself. Want some?"

I shook my head. There was no chance I was having coffee, especially after that stomachache, yesterday.

"How do we heat this thing up?"

You turn the switch on, Ophelia. That's how you do it.

God, she was getting on my nerves right now. It wasn't her fault, though. The plain white walls irked me. It reminded me of the time my dad returned and he didn't like the photo frames on the walls. So, he forced my mum to remove them all.

Leaving the walls plain and white.

"Did you turn the switch on?"

"Yes I did, genius."

Snappy much, girlfriend?

Guess, I won't get to relax on the bed, after all. The room gave a really homey feeling. With a bed that had a really soft mattress, a mini-fridge, and a few plants around, I felt a lot at home.

I got up with a sigh and walked up to Ophelia who was fumbling with the kettle.

"Show me that damn thing."

The kettle was black in color with a lot of options to heat up its contents. I saw a red button that wasn't turned on. So, she didn't switch it on, after all.

"Here, try it now."

I was pretty confident that it had worked. I knew what she was going to s-

"Stop acting like a smartass. I know my boyfriend's smart. Didn't know he wa- W-What are you doing, Xavier? S-Step away, idiot."

With one hand against her waist and the other on the counter, I trapped her between my arms. I stared into her flickering brown eyes as she stared at me.

"What the hell are you doing?"

"Don't you think, you've been a little careless with what you've been saying?"

A strand of her hair came loose from the bun she'd tied. I pushed it behind her ears gently, as I waited for her answer.

"I-I n-no, I-I don't know what you're saying."

I smirked. God, she looked adorable.

"You know exactly what I mean."

She looked down as her pale skin was tainted with red paint. I lifted her chin and looked into her eyes. I leaned into her as she closed her eyes. Her lips looked so ravishing. But, I had something else on my mind right now. The fingers of my hand that lied on her waist curled as I tickled her.

"Ouch, Xavier! I hate you. Wait! Take this, you pervert."

And then, she proceeded to take the kettle and empty its contents on me. The water didn't really heat up much because the kettle was actually broken. I moved away and the water ended up falling on her.

Thus, bringing us to where I was before. I offered her my hoodie, which she gladly took without any gratitude. Now, I was left with a blow-dryer and a drenched hoodie.

"How long do you think this storm will last?"

I think I should probably tell her now. Better late than never.

"I don't know about that, but, there are chances that the windstorm might increase into a hurricane."

She face palmed herself. Yeah, I know. Coming here was actually a dumb decision.

A really foolish one.

"Seriously!? Our parents are going to kill us, Xavier."

I shrugged my shoulders and told her that we'll think of some excuse. I knew it was my fault. We could have just waited for a day or two. I climbed back on the bed and lied down. My stomach hurt again and I didn't bring any medicine.

I really should think before making hasty decisions like these.

Ouch, that hurt. My stomachache had worsened. It felt like my large intestine had been tied up into knots. My abdomen hurt as well. I hadn't eaten a thing in the past 20 hours because of it. I guess, we are in for a really, really long day.

AZRAIL'S POV

Well,

Well,

Well.

What do we have here?

A windstorm. Ahh, that was a piece of cake. A snap of my fingers and the wind changed its direction. What do I say, the wind obeys me. But it wasn't good enough to throw these people off their games, was it?

Eh, should have gone with a tornado. or a tsunami. If Ophelia thinks that meeting Nicole is going to save her little boyfriend, then I guess, she does live in the clouds, after all.

It's just going to complicate things. But, isn't that more drama?

And, hell, I love drama.

Xavier was going to be mine. Just 14 more days. I could already feel my stomach grumble at the thought of all that darkness.
