Jean and others can only look in shock at the impaled Lumine.
Everything happened so fast for any of them to register what just transpired.
In one moment, the Traveler was attaining power and become the hope of the Mondstadt, but in the next moment, that very Traveler became corpse, shattering all their hopes. Making them fall into despair.
Amber: Lumine!!!
The Outrider was the first one to snap out of her stupor and ran towards her.
This also made others to returned back to their thoughts as they did the same.
When they reached her, they tried to pull the sword out. Sadly, no matter how much they tried, the sword won't even budge.
They even used their elemental powers, unfortunately, the result remained the same.
Seeing how Traveler condition was getting worse as more and more blood was leaking out of it, Jean pointed her hands at the blonde girl and used her elemental burst.

The Anemo power came out of her and engulfed Lumine, trying to rejuvenate her wounds.
Nevertheless, there wasn't any change in situation even the little bit. The wounds just kept on opening, not showing any sign of healing.
By now Outrider eyes had already filled with tears, seeing how helpless she was. Others were also showing somewhat same expressions.
???: What happened here!!!?
Hearing this shout, they all looked back and saw Moon who had entered the area.
Lisa: Lady Moon, please do something, Sweetie is dying!
This jolted the woman as she reached them in an instant and grabbed the handle of the sword.
She had some questions but she knew what was important at the moment.
BOOM!!
Power of Adeptus burst out of her as pulled the sword out. OR, she tried to. But to her shock even with her full strength, the sword was not showing any hint of moving.
Moon: Just what kind of sword is this.
She spoke while gritting her teeth.
Others also grabbed the sword and tried to join forces but to no vail.

At this time, they heard the sound of the Spider-monsters behind.
Turning they saw how hundreds of them had entered the place and were rushing towards them.
As despair filled the eyes of Jean and others, Moon let out a sigh and removed her hand from the hilt.
Next, she summoned "Dragonspine Spear" again in her hand and spoke.
Moon: I will open a path. Follow me closely, otherwise, I won't be able to guarantee your safety.
Kaeya: Are you saying we should leave our Honourable Knight here!?
Diluc: I am against it. I won't be leaving without taking her with us.
Jean: I also agreed with the others.

Actually, Moon was already certain of Lumine's death, the moment she entered this place. However, she wanted to confirm whether a trace of life was left in Traveler or not. In case it did, then she would have the means of stop it from dispersing, hence, preventing her death.
But now she had confirmed that no breath of life was left in the blonde. Lumine was really gone.
Seeing their lost look, as if everything was lost, Moon could only let out a deep sigh.
Moon: Stop standing in daze and let's go. Do you really think that girl wants to see you dying here? And don't you want to save your city?
This made their bodies trembled as they can only gritted their teeth and clenched their fist in frustration.
They again experienced the same sense of powerless and helpless that they faced in Mondstadt, seeing they can't protect their people from Yuuya's madness.
Yet, they didn't show any sign of moving from their spot.
Witnessing this, Moon decided to take things in our hand.

Her adeptus power was released and covered all of them.
Eula: What are you doing!?
Moon: Sorry, but that's the only way.
Saying, she charged at the horde of monster coming for them.
When she was doing so, Jean and others realized that they can no longer had any control over their bodies as it started moving on its own, following behind Moon.
Amber: Stop this! Lumine is still there!
Turning a deaf ear to her plea, Moon continued charging forward.

Their group became some kind of spear-head cutting through all the monsters in the way.
By the time, they reached the end of the tunnel saw the light of outside, Jean and others moved their eyes to glance back but witnessed a scene that broke their brave front and led them succumbed to tears.
Some Spider-Monsters and their Variants, instead of following them, surrounded Lumine.
Next, they started feasting on her.

In the end, Jean and others could only close their eyes in pain and let their bodies follow the Adeptus woman unconditionally.
This day was something that they will never be able to forget throughout their life.

Outskirts of City of Freedom.
A group of people were hiding in the forests while looking at capital from the distance.
Those people had covered themselves in a long cloak to protect themselves from wind and dust and also to hide their identity from being exposed.
Normal cloak won't be able to do so but these were made by the Chef Alchemist himself using alchemy. Hence, they contained such ability while still looking like a normal one.
The first who was standing on the very front with its hand on the tree and spoke.
???: We have retuned back to our city. Though now it looks gloomier than months ago.
One can't argue with that. When Primis and Lumine visited the city for the first time, it was livelier and more colourful, with full of smiling people, walking around and engaging in a heartily talk.
But now, not even a shadow of such time was left.
At this point, another cloaked figure approached and spoke.
???: Sist---I mean, Acting Grand Master, all the preparation are done.
Hearing this, Jean, who was looking at the city nodded.
Jean: Um.
She then turned and looked at all the cloaked figures behind and spoke.
Jean: This is the battle to take back the city that rightful belongs to us from a bloodthirsty villain. Remember how many of your loved ones were humiliated, died, got eaten and sacrifice so that you can escape. Fortunately, Yuuya didn't pursue these people. And while they were travelling around Mondstadt without any purpose in mind, they met up with Jean and others.
Since all these people have the desire to take their city back, they joined and planned their attack.

The Acting Grandmaster was still standing on the spot while looking at the people dashing with their everything.

The Blonde answered with her own question.
This person named Barbara was a 16 years old girl with ash blonde hair in two high pigtails that spiral downward, grey-blue eyes, and fair skin.
She was wearing a white frock that was open at the shoulders and a large white and blue bow in the front along with white tights, white ankle boots, and a blue and white cap. Her Vision was attached to a gold-adorned spell-book with a light blue cover and a small cross charm hangs at her side.
She was also the Deaconess of the Church of Favonius and Jean's younger sister.
Barbara: Sister, you are no longer the one you used to be. Even though you were stern and strict, you take it upon yourself to protect the nation from any sort of threats it may face and, as a result, is looked up to and respected by almost the entirety of it's population. You feel a strong sense of duty towards protecting our homeland and it's inhabitants. But now…now...…
The Acting Grand master remained silent and let her sister continue.
Barbara: You know what, sister. Once I escaped with survivors, I was lost. I didn't even know what to do and make people gain courage again. As a deaconess, its my duty to give people hope in their most venerable time. But no matter what I do, the only thing I see in their eyes were despair.

Tears were dropping from the eyes of the girls and recalled the past.

The Blonde's outburst shut Deaconess up. That's the first time, she had seen her sister yelled at her like this. This really shocked her to the core.
But soon that shock turned into astonishment when she noticed the shivering body of her sister.
Jean: We have no choice! This is our last chance to strike and take back Mondstadt, even for the time being! There is no more miracle! There is no more hope! The only thing, we can do is keep going forward even when we know it will lead to our death! Not only that...….
Stopping she spoke.
Jean: All those people know about it.
Barbara: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jean: It was not us but them who come to us and provide us this solution. They knew they are going for their death but they still accept it with a smile on their face, saying if it will even increase the slightest chances of winning, they willing to do so.
