Capítulo 13: Chapter 13 – The Unexpected Welcome

It took Joanna some time to adjust herself, but she hesitated to enter the car where the door was held open for her.

"You. You are the one who almost hit me with this car," she pointed at the driver, then turned to Alex. "You were the one in the car?" Her face was already beaded with sweat at the observation.

She remembered that when she witnessed the proposal gone wrong, Alex's face looked familiar, but she couldn't connect him to that incident.

Then the office incident. Was it also him? No, that couldn't be because that man had his legs intact, whereas Alex did not.

"What if I was?" Alex asked with a cold expression. Joanna swallowed tightly when their gazes met.

It was as if he locked her out, and she couldn't guess what was going on in his mind from his face.

Contemplating between canceling whatever was between them and the opened car door, she was afraid that Alex was keeping secrets from her.
